This is Brian Kim Keenan. I saw Lefty in a club in Chicago. Truly impressive. He actually plays in his own style. And the live show was Remarkable. RIP Lefty, We all Loved you. You know , Sometimes folks are so good at what they do and professional, they become overlooked by the masses. You touched alot of lives and made everyone think. Thank you!
I remember being on the sound desk for his gig in Aldershot late 80's, early 90's. His back line was so big, I could only put a little through the FOH system just enough to give it depth and spread. I was so happy when he congratulated me for doing a good job. :)
@@Elmarc9923 This track came to me on a CD "Lefty Dizz & Carlos Johnson - The Healer" [2000, Wolf, Chicago Blues Session no.66]. Lefty Dizz kindly mentored Johnson when he was but a 'beginner bluesman' and they went on to become very close friends. I haven't seen this track on any of Lefty's own albums but I probably don't have all his releases. Neither have any American releases despite being proper Chicago Blues players.
He was left-handed but he played a right-handed guitar by holding the instrument upside down. This approach allows for innovative use of the instrument in different ways than regular players and is much less trouble than using a left-handed stringing.
One of Greats ! Saw him live in 1970 and can't forget it. Go, Lefty, Go ! !!!!
