I have tht exact model for abt 3 years now it is the best value for a beginner scope, well worth it. The last set of leads you looked at is actually attenuated leads and they are useful. It has some little things that could be worked on but as I said there isn’t any other scope in this price range that can compete with it.
I was watching your channel, when you had the micsig, I was getting my diag skills dialed in back then.. now I’m diving into eeprom work. Kinda cool traveling along the same road. Keep up the good work Mario .
Good info Mario. You’re right that Scanner Danner was the T-pin king a few years back it seemed. You’re always helping others in your trade to find ways to get better at their craft.
Nice review man! I keep eying one of these up myself! I love my pico as well. But i find myself grabbing my verus most often just because it’s all in one. I’ve been wanting a nice standalone portable scope for a while now! Thanks for the review!
I Had a micsig for about 2 year's, it was not my only scope but it worked fantastic when i had it . Unfortunately mine stop working after i drop it . Love your videos mate keep up the great work
What adapter I need in order to use my snapon pressure transducer in order to use incylinder pressure tab?? I'm seriously looking into buying ato1104 but I need incylinder pressure adapter
Can we connect 500 psi pressure translucent for in Cilinder wave form to check timing? Also what’s the newest that it is now for automotive use? Thanks
I've been using the Micsig for about three years and it does what I need fairly well. I will admit the setup learning curve is a bit tricky sometimes. I don't have the newer automotive model but it looks much more user friendly. Hope all is well Mario.
This was definitely a huge teaching scope. So much so that it made the pico seem easy to adapt to. Glad i started with this one. Although i call it a beginner's scope, it's a powerful scope that will take a good while for the user to outgrow, and by then, i think they'll be ready for just about anything 😆 great to hear from you buddy!
Great video Mario 👌 I really like the idea of the standalone scope and really like that this one isn't very bulky and priced well. I'm wondering if MicSig would be interested in showing off their scopes at Super Saturday.
@@SuperMarioDiagnostics I would consider it if I find value in using the scope. I'll be looking into possibly purchasing on soon. I like the idea of not needing a PC just to use a scope. That's why my uScope is my goto, Escope is badass but comes with a badass price tag that I haven't found the NEED for yet. But the signal simulators and the ability to drive circuits are what turns me on about the Escope.
I love the Zeus because it connects to the internet and all data is available for info. Component Feature has pinouts on every vehicle. Bi direction controls ECT...
Between the Hantek DSO 3064A, AR oscilloscope and ATS 8-channel oscilloscope, the Micsig is quite friendly and simple to use. I've been using it for a few years and it's become the go-to-tool. The remote features work between Android, a PC or iOS. Images and movies work great and the transfers are simple. Communication tests are flawless. Using a scan tool with the Micsig for controller and network failures, makes things simple. Added quite a few handmade attachments, great scope and portable.
Mario my friend. Thanks for sharing. You did an excellent job and looking forward to seeing it in action. Between yourself,Brian Mann, and Scannerdanner I’m absorbing a heck of a lot of good skills and advice. Oh and I forgot to mention Maic Salazar who actually set me up for the electronics path I’m on. Sounds like you got rid of that cold you and family stay safe and well Artie 😊
Hola marito . Apenas y vi este video de hace 2 años una pregunta ¿ cuál será el más actual ahorita? ¿ Y si con este micsig se puede hacer in cilynder presure wave form ? Like pico y Ats osiloscope Gracias primo
Thanks for sharing awesome video. This is the new escope right? 🤣😝 looking forward to seeing how you like it. I think launch is using this software now looks similar.
Well done Mario. Thx for the breakdown. I do like having a handheld and it is worth having if you are the run and need quick captures . I’m glad that you provide a good example of the need for scope work to ensure the fault. I work at a place where they’re are very experienced techs however they have never used a scope and pretty much challenge the thought of using it. Lol anyways imma share the video with all them lol. Sorry ahead of time for the feedback they might give.
Finally watched the whole thing glad that you think this is worth the money was on the fence about getting one watched some of the videos from Europe and they seem to enjoy using it think I’m gonna pull the trigger
"Never going to use those leads" he said. Mario, you will need those leads when it comes to the higher speed networks like flexray, whatever scope brand you use. The big difference is that the 10:1 attenuator is built into the probe itself, thus making the test lead almost invisible to the circuit under test. This is important for high speed signals, where you could have a perfectly good network, but the application of a standard automotive BNC to 4mm test lead would completely mess up the signal. Same with the ground, it's so short because the ground lead acts like a big inductor or antenna at high frequencies. You'll probably also find a little spring type ground collar in the packet with the probe, because even that short ground clip lead is way too long at MHz frequencies. Have a look at Dave Jones' EEVBlog episode for a better explanation of this.
Is that frequency meter takes a selected channel and shows its frequency changes over time on another math channel accordingly? It could be handy when measuring cylinder contribution
Watching your wary videos got me wanting one of these scopes. I work on a minesite that has temperatures about 45deg C quite often so that was the reason I didn’t get one. Be really interested to see what this one goes like. Thanks for the upload.
I had this scope,it was just a personal beef i had with it which annoyed me was that it doesn't have a horizontal and vertical grid, say with volts up the left hand side and your time scale horizontally along the bottom, like mist other scopes have.. Also measuring the degrees on the in cylinder pressure waveform with the vertical rulers would have been good too.
I got this a year ago to add to my 4channel pico and uscope. So far i love it. The only thing i wish migsig would do.is to add rotation angle measurement in adition to time measurement when you use the vertical rulers
maybe you can help me or Can anyone please chime in opinion? I hope you make more video with migsic. I bought one recently, but there are very few videos, how to operate it etc etc. And because it's my first one, never used scope before, makes it more difficult for me..... it would be a very nice video, with CAN communication, and explain the math channel, please 🙏🙏🙏 And a very cool thing, for me,is that you can put a wireless mouse, my fingers print are worn out, and I have some issues to operate the touch screen, nothing wrong with the screen, just my fingers.
Ok so maybe 2 years ago or so I had bought the 2 channel version. For me at first it seemed good and I was / maybe still a beginner with a scope but seamed to run into issues with it.... Perhaps user error or inconsistent operation. I put it away kinda a long time ago. I've become more accustom to my snapon triton with scope or I do like the fluke 98 with a built in relative compression test. My question is after 4 months or so what is your thoughts of this.... I personally thought it was nice but kinda thought it was lacking with the functional test and preset options for tests but I did notice in the video you had said you did not prefer preset options. I did enjoy it's size and coloring. Made it much easier to see over my old snapon modus. So how has it held up and does it seam to be quality and maybe worth using?
I would recomend using attenuators for any testing where inductive kick/back emf is present. Especially cheaper scopes that may not have a robust front end input circuitry.
Awesome channel,, enjoying all the content. Is the MicSig holding up still, since some time has passed? Is it really rated up to 300 volts max? Seems a little hard to believe. since the Cadillac Pico 4425a scope is rated for 200V max. In the market for a scope, going between a Autel MP408 or SicMig. I know Pico is top shelf,, but neither is my budget,,,lol Thanks for any input you might have,, including the Autel..
I do have a question that support has never answered: is their a way to get the MPa to PSI or Bar on the pressure transducers? I can do the conversion, but MPa is to too large a scale when dealing with vacuum to 220 PSI. Like how Autel defaults to lb/sec for a MAF sensor; it's practically useless in the scales that I use. (I know that the Autels can go to grams/sec, before you comment)
I have the hantek 8 chanel scop its almost the same. Most of those features are on it. I payed $100 for it and I don't use it much the autel and the pics 2000 scop are nicer pluse I have a verdict 2 chanel a verus and an older modis so you can guess witch I use plus the u-scop and a 2 chanel scop like the u-scop. Lol I guess I'm scop poor. But I never know if I need to use more then one scop, it rare but I have have to do it a couple of time. But that looks like something that would help as well. I like the escope with the tablet I wouldn't mind the escan kit tablet and 8 chanel would be cool but the price for this poor boy is just to high. I got most of what I have off ebay I can't afford the new price 5g - 10g is way out of my league. But this thig might be cool being tablet and all is handy for grab and get it done kind of set up.

How many bits of resolution? Anything less than 12bits is useless for analog automotive signals.

What is the Max input voltage here in this scope without an attenuator?
Can we do injector waveform without an attenuator?
Thank you.
I would recomend using attenuators for any testing where inductive kick/back emf is present. Especially cheaper scopes that may not have a robust front end input circuitry.
Says 300v rms. I do recommend attenuators regardless. But I've done injector primary captures before with no attenuator, with no problems as well
One other crucial thing on this scope: there should be a chassis ground connection for the scope on the side. Make sure you use it!!!
Thank you guys.
We would recommend to use an attenuator when input voltage over 90V.
