You made a point that this family may have been killed to prevent the business staying in the hands of the family, which could be the case. What could also be a cause is the family business may have been extorted. As we know, a business person's failure to pay extortion money in most cases result in death. All of what was mentioned could be a factor but no one knows
This murder happened when I was in my early teen in Jamaica. Since then, I have never forgotten about this family. Even though I did not know them personally, the trauma that I experienced when I heard the news on the radio still echoes in my mind. In my mind, I can still hear Allan Magnus reading the funeral announcement for the family on RJR news. I migrated from Jamaica shortly after the murders. I requested this video, and I'm hoping that this childhood trauma that I went through when I heard of the death of these young children and parents may finally leave me. Jamaican children are being traumatized by the wanton killings in Jamaica. I'm in my 50s, and here telling you that I'm one of those kids traumatized by the news of this murder in 1984. I'm watching the video with tears in my eyes. Thanks, Nigel. You presented the history so well.

Thanks for requesting this. Yes it is true that most of Jamaican children experience childhood trauma and this is one of the reasons why we have such a violent society and mental illness.
I will always remember this incident as I was in my 20s.. i use to buy corn bread at this bakery and they use to sell one of the best corn bread...right at the corner if Spanish town road and salt lane.

Such a tragedy! So sad. Years ago in Jamaica, as children we left our home without giving our mom prior notice. This was such a disturbing, vicious, brutal, rape, murder, massacre of a entire defenseless family, even by murders committed in Jamaica in 1984.
