Powerful verses from ancient Hindu scripture as told by Lord Krishna.
The Bhagavad Gita is the sixth book of the Mahabharata, one of India’s most famous epic poems, first composed around 400 BC. Like all great works of literature, the Gita appeals to the human condition on many levels: metaphysical, moral, spiritual, and practical.

I read the Gita 2 years ago and became a follower of Krishna. It is the most truthful and beautiful book ever written. Pure love and wisdom without any judgements or dogma. We in the West have a lot to learn from India and its rich divine scriptures and teachers.

@@jebdjdjsbdhjd i can clearly see that you had some difficulty to understand the text . The book starts in scene of the grand kurukshetra war where krsna guides the young warior arjuna who is confused. On youtube also you can search guru gopal das geeta explanation , its a small video but concise. The text is very old more than 5000 years hence there are a lot of translations and being unable to understand is absoluttly fine. Also gita is about sanatan dharma its not a religious hindu book , you can become a devotee of krsna without changing your religion you just gotta surrender your material attachments to him which will in turn take you closed to enlightenment . @@jebdjdjsbdhjd thats what i am saying the penguin edition might not be well written the most popularly sold and accepted gita is by iskcon "the bhagvat gita as it is" and sanatan dharma is 5k plus years old that point there were no religions krsna was the enlightened and conscious hence he is referred to the god figure and if you read the gita youll find that the devotion towards krsna doesnot make you do any religious practice but only yoga , bhakti and meditation which are simple ways of well being and achieving consciousness . The fact that he is referred to as the creator is to make the human realise that material isnt forever and one should give up their attachment . If possible you should get the book i mentioned or you can simply watch guru gopal das explanation on youtube itll surely change your perspective. Ps if gita was about religion then why would iskcon (international society for krsna consciousness) have so many non indians who arent hindus ? That is because sanatan dharma is a way of living as shown to us by conscious figures like krsna ,vishnu , shiva hence there is no religion involved and the teachings of gita can be applied by anyone in their lives and they will see its positive effects too. Quran my friend is a religious book not a way of living . God bless

Rest of your information is already known by me i have studied that in University but the way you are presenting it simply feels like you want to throw shame on the book and i do not wish to accept such hatred from you. One of the most well known line from Bhagwad Geeta is "Do not worry about failure, focus on taking right action, leave the outcome of victory or defeat to me". For better understanding, let me give some context: Arjun is hesitant in fighting the war, he asks many questions and expresses concerns. One such concern is fear of failure, what if he does everything and still loses? In response to that Krishna tells him that he created laws which govern all life forms in the universe to ensure everyone gets what they deserve (reward/punishment) based on their deed (Karm). If you're deserving of an achievement, nothing can take that away from you, God is and will always be there to ensure you get what you deserve, therefore stop worrying about failure, focus on maximizing your potential and do your best to achieve your goals.

Stop taking away our identity. Yoga, ayurveda, vedas, upanishads, bhagvat geeta, vimanashastra etc etc are books of hindus. This is a fact and cant be changed. @@greenocean9039 Hindu name cringe tbf. Nobody uses Hindu in actual history unless by foreigners. I'm Bhartiya following Sanatan Dharm. Saying Hindu as Indian is like saying Shivalik as Himalaya. It's still Himalaya. Calling Yoga, Ayurveda, Veda, Upanishad as Indian is much apt than calling it Hindu, Jain etc. NO, it doesn't affect Sanatan followers identity and heritage. Rather it becomes inclusive that even ancestors of Sikhs , Buddhists etc were contributors in preserving the culture.

That's right. I would add that evil, hatred and envy, destroying someone else's destiny with the help of black magic also leads straight to hell and nowhere else, because the greatest sin is to deprive a person of the life given to them by the Creator! I am never idle, although sometimes there is no work. I am always developing, writing something from articles, studying languages or reading books. The soul is as immortal as any creative work. I was reading a book about Buddhism. An amazing religion, filled with philosophical deepest meaning, which hooked me more than other religions of the world.
