Peak editing, August
Destiny got divorced 😂 hes gonna dye his hair red now
FOR REAL, I lost my shit.
Them thangs are mammothian.
I just got here, haven’t even seen it yet, and i already know what’s about to go down
I’m 25 minutes in and it’s wild to me that i can hear all of Lila’s points perfectly but can hardly hear Jazmin make out a full sentence without being interrupted 😂
It’s crazy😂 they couldn’t let her speak
She really didnt have any points worth listening too. Her references were pretty weak to be honest.
*_"What happens when someone who actually watches porn debates people who strongly oppose It but don't watch It and have no clue about It"_*
The real problem exacerbated here is the massive divide between the factions of the Culture War. All the people Lila and Trent know personally are aligned with their ideological views, and the same goes for Destiny and Jazmen. None of the sides can even fathom how the views of the other side are possible because they have never interacted deeply with someone outside their bubble. When the divide is this big, bringing in studies is pointless, because each bubble has their studies who confirm their personal biases. And that's how an Empire fall ladies and gentleman, not with WWIII or an alien invasion, but simply with the tribes that form the nation completly decoupling from each other.
@@jgyoung1981if her points are pointless why not let her finish her sentence and then dunk on her. clearly they’re scared of her talking points cuz they keep interrupting her
@@bigbangrafa8435 that’s not true though destiny grew up catholic and was strongly conservative until his mid 20’s. He was pro life the whole shebang. He would understand exactly where they are coming from
Lila won't let anyone speak for more than a second LMAO
@U90722everything she is on she’s constantly trying to talk over everybody.
Lila needs to stop speaking in slogans
There’s a difference between podcasting, or giving a speech, and debating. The more she recycles terms/phrases, the more it seems like she’s regurgitating instead of responding in good faith
There is no intention of a good faith debate here. She has her talking points and she’s gonna go down her argument tree no matter what arguments she’s presented with. That’s why she is incapable of engaging with hypotheticals, it’s why she constantly needs to interrupt and move goalposts when directly disproven by a study. For example “there’s no difference in outcomes for prostitutes who work in a legalized setting and those who don’t”, Jazmin provides a study that directly contradicts that statement and then it’s “well this debate is about if sex work is bad not prostitution”
Then why’d you bring it up? It’s so clearly not a good faith attempt to make an actual argument it’s just an excuse to read her script. I’d love to see her debate with an actual moderator and an overlay so we can see in real time how manic her debate style is.
@jshv73 yeup, they just want to get clips to use in their morality campaigns. That's why destiny doesn't really "win" these arguments. They're not trying to come to a truth or arguing in good faith to get there. They get their talking points out, hopefully push Destiny into biting the bullet on things they can make 15 second clips out of, and leave
@@jshv73 Jazmen promote CP and incest...
The problem is these people aren't capable of engaging with any other people in good faith when they don't even approach their own beliefs in good faith.

Yeah well like - this is exactly the thing. Know them by their fruits. If it looks like a duck quacks like a duck ...
I hate team debates because it further reduces the amount of time each person gets to expand on their arguments. Constant shifting of topics from either side makes it difficult to focus and hammer home any singular point before someone else asks a different question or cites another study leading down an entirely different line of questioning.
Yeah, it did bounce all over the place making certain parts hard to listen to. Which was just frustrating.

@@Sheahova That was by design lol
I wonder how many people, like myself, had to pause it a few times and take a brake because of how exhausting it was to hear a lot of the arguments?
Yeah, me too. I kept thinking about 1 Timothy 2:12: "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."
Then I remembered that Destiny is a proud member of the fairer sex, so she was fair game for the zealous temper tantrum twins.
Yea there so many flaws in Rose and Trents arguments.
Yeah, altough i wouldn't say it was because of the amount of arguments, nor how intellectually complex they were, rather that it everyone was trying to push the conversation in a different direction. Lila was still half-debating abortion from months back, Trent was constantly alluding to his religious morals (that are outdated even for most religious people these days) without ever actually justifying them in the first place or letting them be criticized, Jazmen was a bit better but she was jumping from one study to another without any deeper dive or breathing room (tho then again she was also the one refocusing the convo back to the topic the most. It needed heavy moderation imo.
Rose was so obviously pivoting and pretending not to understand the argument for the sake winning the argument several times. It was disgusting.
yeah I was just waiting for destiny to go off the whole time
Okay, as a therapist, the sex-as-service argument was infuriating.
I can not have sex with a client because it goes directly against my ethical code of conduct.
1. It is an abuse of power and vulnerability.
2. It creates multiple conflicting relationships in the room (a solely sexual relationship is still a relationship, same as a therapeutic relationship)
But none of that matters because sex work has the exact same obligations! You do not expect a sex worker to perform therapy or medical care because each of these roles is intentionally boundaried!
What if the patient wants to have sex with therapist?
I was getting so mad hearing the anti porn ppl being unable to engage with that point.
@lampad4549 typically, if this situation comes up, it's addressed directly. We discuss the nature of therapy and the boundaries of our position, usually with reference to the power I hold as a therapist and how it compromises the dynamics of any relationship we have beyond this room.
A client wanting to have sex with a therapist does not remove any of the previously mentioned problems.
I agree with you that was a very stupid argument.
You're missing the point, lol. WHY is it an abuse of power or WHY does it create a conflict of interest? What is special about sex, if it's a valid 'service' for workers to provide, and all parties are consenting? Why would it be OK for a therapist to bake cookies and offer them to people in the waiting room, but not offer them blowjobs? The point is exactly that there is something different in nature about sex.
I think Lila only seemed like the honest interlocutor when partnered with the lady from the 2v1. Here she was easily the most ideologically driven. She seemed a lot more interested in proselytizing than she did in having an interesting conversation. Brian needs to do some work on detecting his own bias if he wants to host debates on topics he has a personal interest in. Lila clearly needed to be reigned in several times, and Brian didn't seem to understand just how obnoxious it was becoming.
Yeah, Lila was a bit off the rails in this one. But I'd say Trent is just as ideologically driven, he's just more covert about it.
Trent’s back must hurt from carrying his side of the debate.

We've all made that mistake I'm sure, but yeah, still wrong and frustrating.
I couldn't imagine trying to have a debate with Lila Rose, she is way way too much and goes off on so many tangents and a million anecdotal examples, her experiences and opinions are irrefutable fact, and only the way she sees and believes is just a fact, trust her bro, and she goes off on so many tangents and just never stops talking.... I’ve never heard of her before, she’s completely unwilling to engage with the topic at all. It’s bad and if you don’t think it’s bad you’re a bad person. Is essentially her whole argument
@@libertariansasquatch Exactly, she has no ability to see through other perspectives or want to understand why people have their perspectives, she can’t understand not everyone thinks like her, which most people figure out by Jr. High.
Wow, I was wrong to give Lila props in the past. She is not there in good faith at all, not even maybe. Literally interrupted and assumed moral superiority from minute 1 to the end. She seems super bitter and jealous to be honest.
she knows deep down her husband watches porn and there is nothing she can do about it.
I called it from day 1.
I really just don't understand why these kind of people believe that every single human being has to play by the same rules. Even if 88% of people truly are negatively effected by porn or need monogomy, that still means the other 12% exist and need to be allowed to do what makes them happy. Just because something works for a majority does not mean it should be a hard rule that every single person should be forced to follow. IF there really are human beings that do better in open relationships, which there are, then obviously it is in everyone's best interest to let them exist that way openly because otherwise you get them hiding it, going into marriages unhappily, and then cheating secretly to fulfill their actual sexual needs. Its not good that it happens, they are still wrong for doing it, but it does happen, humans are imperfect. Creating an environment for people to feel comfortable being themselves wont eliminate cheating, but it certainly would reduce it and the emotional harm done by it.
God I also just hate how the introduce and use their studies, its such bad faith man. Im not familiar with the studies on porn they first cited, but I'd bet you anything those studies that said porn bad and women don't like it were only using the kind of pornography men tend to watch more, you can bet your ass they weren't looking at smut or romance novels that women love just as much as men love the hardcore stuff. Just because there appears to be a gender divide in the type of preferred pornographic content doesn't inherently make one worse than the other.
Well romance novel isn't porn and cheating is more now even with polyamory crap back then people had shame
@@raghavnamasivayam8706 I don't know any stats on cheating, but yeah romance novels are porn. Not all of them, but a lot of them have extremely explicit porn scenes written for the purpose of the reader getting off, and even those without sex scenes can have a certain appeal since many women have a kind of sexuality that does not require and sort of visual stimuli. Don't even get me started on fanfiction, women are just as degenerate as men lol, it's just in a different space.
You're missing the point. For example if you're a serial killer it doesn't necessarily mean you're mentally unstable, you could just be military or State personnel.

And appropriateness often is contextual.

This really should have just been a Destiny / Trent debate
Haven't watched their 1 on 1 debate, but I'm not entirely certain this would have gone better without the women. Trent and Lila both changed the language a fair bit and wanted to argue off-topic, but I think Jaz being there was a plus (besides just being nice to look at.) Biggest contribution from her I felt was that she'd jump in and it gave Destiny more time to think about a response.
Trent also took the cheap shot in response to Destiny calling them religious so there's that against it too. But with no Lila there interrupting and dodging he might not have gotten that heated.
Ultimately might agree it would be interesting, not sure I'd say better.
Holy shit that 2013 number was more dishonest than I initially thought. The old definition literally didn’t include rape of men or statutory rape.
It was really nice for Jazmen to engage in such good faith, but Destiny was needed to put some pressure on the opposition.
It’s consistently been the case that these very polite individuals that have these discussions, coming from religious or conservative backgrounds, are so passively judgemental in a way that compromises their ability to have these discussions.
Destiny is willing just go at them in a way that’s aware of this. Good job to anyone who tries to have a polite conversation with them though.
You can hear it in the way that they make these little digs any time Destiny or Jazmen pause, they have no respect for them whatsoever, they're just pretending. The lack of moderation hurt Destiny more than Trent and Lila, they interrupted over and over with nothing statements to detail the structural arguments of their opponents.
Is being passively judgemental not just the case for any single debate? As you assume Lila and Trent are judging Destiny and Jazmen, it can be said that Destiny and Jazmen are passively judging Lila and Trent for their views that they believe stem from a religious background. I don't think it's correct to just assume one side is passively judging, I think it's human nature, no matter which side you're on or how much you try to hide it, passive judgement is always going to be in debates between people.
So for these religious individuals as you said to be compromised by their passive judgement is incorrect or else everyone would be compromised.
@@TheStaticballProject There is an understandable difference between the required “judgement” of a view that is necessitated by holding the opposing view, and disrespecting someone you’re supposedly engaging in a good faith conversation with.
It’s been mentioned before; unlike any other possible person debating a topic who is engaging in it under the pretence that they are there to find the truth, or get as meaningfully close to it as possible, people like Trent and Lyla, even if you disproved every fact that underpinned their stance, they are too dug in to their world view to change their mind.
The views they have are epistemically rooted in an incompatible world view with anyone who isn’t religious. No opinion related to that can be overturned.
This “smugness” for lack of a better term, comes from the fact that their stances are rooted in what they view as self-evident truths. Just note every time a peak in the conversation ends with them exhaustedly saying “isn’t it obvious?”.
No it’s not, the inconclusive data is proof enough of that.
@@tomjames9681 Well now your argument has shifted from passive judgement to assuming that Trent and Lyla are uncapable of being open minded and showing smugness. I do believe that religious people have a stereotype that suggests that due to their beliefs they are closed minded but Trent and Lyla were questioned about their open mindedness as to which they affirmed that they are open minded. So if you are not willing to take them on their word then you are showing a bias that you believe religious people cannot be open minded. You can be skeptical as to, despite them confirming that they are open minded, whether or not that this is the case but you cannot say "even if you disproved every fact that underpinned their stance, they are too dug in to their world view to change their mind." You can't state this because you have no idea if this would be true, you are just assuming again and not acting in good faith towards them. It's a dangerous mentality to have because if everyone, religous and non-religious were to hold this view, there would be no point to discussion at all.
Perhaps instead of "smugness" a better term is 'moral authority', would be the belief that they hold superior knowledge in the morality because it is from the divine. However they are not arguing from the bible but from scientific research that obviously backs and forms their worldview, as does Destiny and Jazmen. It's the whole point of debate but the key is to understand whose scientific study is more true and can be found more prevalent in society.
To be honest, debates like these are hard to watch because they become incoherent in a way. Would love a format where Destiny and Trent were to research scientific literature together instead of just pulling it out and having to accept it as true.
@@tomjames9681 Sorry, I forgot to address and reply to your statement about their view being incompatible with non-religious people. Well I think this can be very easily overturned.
For example: Trent and Lyla hold the view that pornography is bad. You don't have be indoctrinated into the Christian faith to hold this view. Look at the whole redpill and no fap movement and how these communities practice abstinence from pornography and masturbation because they came to the conclusion through their life experience that these sexual vices were making them suffer. These communities are not religious.
Personally I thought the alcohol analogy was a pretty good comparison. Just because some people can't moderate themselves when it comes to sex and porn doesn't mean its some horrible evil thing ripping society apart at the seams. That said it can easily go too far in the other direction and get put of hand too. Multiple partner relationships do tend to fail more often than not and I think Destiny himself is a good example of that given his unfortunate divorce. Just my opinion.
💯
Destiny was monogamous the time he divorced. Ironically, I think his current open relationship actually goes on longer than the one he had with his ex-wife.
This type of debate is a classic echo chamber ideology collision between progressive lefties ( that like to virtue signal ) and christian zealots ( that pearl clutching over anyone having consensual rough sex ).
When it comes to this whole debate of prostitution and porn being legal or not. I'm fine with the United States either adopting the Netherlands legalization model of prostitution or adopting the Sweden abolition decriminalization model of prostitution. Either one is better than fully criminalizing prostitution that we have right now in the United States which would lead to a black market meaning that market demand.
As for the porn aspect, I'm fine with porn being legal with having legal age limits for people that do porn with also some type of legit age verification system where is restricts children from watching porn. More specifically with the legal age of education system the US government can have either a legal age verification system where you put your ID number when entering to a porn site ( in which can verify that you're 18 or older ), or the US government can pass a law where tech companies that make smart electronic devices are required to have a parental control lock mode on each electronic device where the parents can block certain apps and sites that are not age appropriate. The latter option would be more easier to implement considering that the Google Play Store has the the ESRB game age rating system for their apps.
FYI when it comes to the aspects of type relationships the super majority of people can engage in a healthy way, here's what I would say. I do not think that the anti premarital sex from the christian zealots is the way to go for the average person. I also don't think having an open relationship is the way to go for the average person either. Most likely the proper relationship for the average heterosexual couples is going to be either a fully monogamous relationship, or a somewhat monogamous relationship where the couple has a threesome with a chick every few months or so. Either type of monogamous relationship is where the average man or woman is going to be with their partner that most likely at least have the majority of their sexual experiences come from previous boyfriend girlfriend relationships.

i found the study they talk about in the beggining and the conclusion was Our results showed that associations between pornography use and relationship satisfaction differ by one’s level of pornography acceptance and anxious attachment. In partial support of hypothesis 1, the negative association between pornography use and relationship satisfaction was lessened for those who were more accepting of pornography, particularly for women. Hypothesis 2 was not supported, as men who were more anxiously attached and used more pornography were more satisfied with their relationship than women who were more anxiously attached and used more pornography. Our results suggest that individual and gender differences are indeed important when considering associations of pornography use with relationship outcomes.
We found that the negative association between pornography use and relationship satisfaction was stronger for those who were less accepting of pornography. Similarly, prior work has shown that individuals who are more accepting of pornography view it as acceptable to use within a relationship as long as they do not see pornography use as an act of infidelity (Olmstead et al., 2013). It is likely that those who are more accepting of pornography are more likely to use it as a couple, which may be a factor in this association. However, it is also likely that individuals who act in a way that is consistent with their attitudes may be more satisfied with life in general, than those whose attitudes and behaviors are contradictory (Diener, Oishi, & Lucas, 2003). It is important to consider that levels of pornography acceptance likely vary by the pornographic content one is viewing. For instance, popular pornography is marketed to men and portrays sex that is more pleasurable for men and even more violent toward women (Barron & Kimmel, 2000; Bridges et al., 2010; Klaassen & Peter, 2015). Therefore, the content may explain why we found pornography acceptance to be a stronger moderator in the association between pornography use and relationship satisfaction for women than for men. Future research should measure attitudes toward a variety of pornographic content in order to account for the positive association between pornography acceptance and relationship satisfaction among women. It could also be helpful for practitioners who work with heterosexual couples to address how women are portrayed in pornography so that both partners are in agreement with the kinds of pornographic acts they find acceptable to view.
I don't know whether my sample of pornography is totally unrepresentative, but the claim that "popular pornography is marketed to men and portrays sex that is more pleasurable for men" just sounds hilariously wrong. All the porn I see exclusively focuses on the pleasure of the woman. The pleasure of the woman is what is arousing to the male watchers, not the pleasure of male actors. Also a big chunk of porn only seems to have women in it in the first place.
I'm just glad the girl with the weird helmet is there
The way the anti abortion lady kept trying to frame the divorce argument around 50 years in particular was so sneaky. She had her dialogue tree, and was really hoping nobody would call her on being weirdly specific about her timeframe.
edit: Holy shit I just got to the end where hentai is brought up and the guy instantly starts talking about tentacle porn. I don't care what he says, this guy is a FREAK when the cameras aren't on him. Total coomer moment.
I love how she was trying to All the negative effects of porn on society yet when jazman works with her timeframe and cites that abortion is actually down since the mass availability of porn, lila instantly says " well the past 50 years it's actually increased".
She sticks with her hardcore narrative that porn = bad for all parties no matter what. And if the relationship is good now then porn will inevitably make it fail no matter what. She basically told jazam that her relationships are doomed to fail and it's a fact.
She's a joke. Stating that cheating = physically involved outside your relationship yet in the same breath tells jazam the reason girls watching porn with partners is because participating feels less like cheating.
Destiny asks to clarify aggressive porn and she immediately goes to extreme content. Demanding the separation of urine vs cum. And obviously showing her hand of hardcore religious ideology when refusing to accept a scenario of a medical policy to allow handjobs. Yet tells destiny my stance can change and it's not tied to my beliefs. Dumb bitch vibes forsure

This immature behavior you people have is astonishing…how the fuck do you expect your opposition to debate if you’re going to mock them for actually learning about the degenerate stuff their opposition engage in? You must realize that just because more Puritan people speak about sex, doesn’t mean it’s for the sake of indulgence, or being offensive. It’s merely used to engage with someone who uses it to be offensive, or indulges in it regularly. It also proves that these particular puritans are not so ignorant, and aren’t easily swayed away by conversations that are considered gross or degenerate.
