      @ Corporals Corner
If you'd been part of the RPMfest work crew a couple weeks ago, I think you would've been in Heaven with all the material ( full grown branches, sticks, some decent pieces of bark from somebody logging their part of the property, plus other stuff to go either full on debris shelter or other types.)
It was a job & a 1/2 getting all that out of there to prep for campers & more than likely, it'll have to be hit up again but, a potential for some kind of temporary structure for the actual days of the show could probably have been done.
Just have to stash the stuff you'd use up until 9/2 for the 1st "official day" & maybe come in with a bit more minimal things like a tarp cover or something to finish off a shelter.
Only potential problem, no real bedding except massive amounts of pine needles which I think wouldn't make a trash bag styled bed the most comfy if somebody went that route.
Again, the music there may not be your bag but, it'd still be AWESOME AF if you could come even if it was for one of the 3 days the thing's going on.

I look forward to those mid-week video's . The pup tent idea is a good configuration, but like you said, us bigger guy's are gonna be uncomfortable, but it's doable and the rain tarp was done nicely. I really miss the after video credit's, thought maybe you weren't doing them anymore but was actually excited there was one in this video. Good advice in the end "after thoughts" segment though. Look forward to your next one. Now, without further babbling, gonna go watch an old video of yours that i haven't seen yet! 😁

Your absolutely right about the workplace. Alot of people who keep taking it, fail to realize that a job is only a tool in your toolbox. It's meant to give you the money that you need to live whatever lifestyle you choose. To treat that as something from a fantasy, is unrealistic and non self-serving. Which at the end of the day is what a job is all about. Thanks

I’ve been there with a do it for the company company. Ended up doing 7 days a week and 120 hours for 40 hours pay for months on end without a day off. Nearly killed me, never again. I changed jobs and can’t believe how good a company can be. I have been here 15 years and loved every day. One of my sons works for a company who have staff meetings on a Sunday without being paid. He now refuses to do that unless he is being paid after I had a good talk to him.

I purchased a DD hammock in December just before it got really chilly. I didn’t use it then & I’ve only managed to use it this last weekend. I was very impressed! Nothing uncomfortable about it. At least I didn’t have to sleep diagonally across it like I’ve had to do in the past with my other hammock. I tied it very straight from the 2 trees. I took my kitten of 3 months camping. She sang me lullaby to sleep. For her lots of new noises & smells to explore.

I’ve tried to tell people that almost word for word. If you keep giving they will keep taking. At the end of the day very damn few employers care at all. They will drop you and move on to the next person no matter how much you give of yourself. The more you give the more they expect. Thank you. I just needed to hear that I wasn’t crazy and you have no clue how well timed that was. Thank you for another great video.

Nice "final thoughts". I enjoy my job and have told many people a similar piece of advice. Work hard and you will achieve your goals, BUT if the people that you are busting your hump for do not recognize the worth you bring to the table or dont care whether you stay or leave, then leave. Find a place and people that respect you, your skills and abilities, especially the ability to learn and deal with pressure.

Learned to whip rope in Scouts1965, also used old nylon parachute panels as hammocks when attached to SF. Canvas is heavy, heavier when wet. It also dry rots over a period of time, rubber or nylon poncho is a better option for a hammock and tarp . I rucked a large Alice most of my time in the Army . You need the old Coleman Army white gas stove!

Amen on your final thought Corporal. Being 'company af' doesn't change the fact that the company can deny your raise, deny promotions, ignore your ideas, force you to work O/T and at any time can terminate your employment. You go from 'company af' to 'screwed af.' I had to learn the hard way, a few times. Last time was because of caregiving for a parent with ALZ...I prioritized family, the company didn't like it...I worked my 10 hr shifts, on little to no sleep, and was still one of the most productive on the floor...I burnt the candle at both ends for years as both 'company man' and caregiver...I was still terminated after 11 years of service. Thankfully I had planned ahead, I made it work, and I was able to take care of my mom until the end...and she never had to go into a nursing home. ALWAYS work for your goals, not just your employer's, live below your means, save money, work your side hustle(s) as hard as you can, keep your head on a swivel, and always be prepared for change.

Sadly most jobs only see numbers. They express openly about going above and beyond for the company. They make it sound good because you want to excel in what you do, but most companies never show any appreciation or reward those who actually produce those results. I have seen in it through the years with people who give 120 percent everyday and still treated like crap. sad but true

One of the reasons I love CorpCorn is because there are extended periods of just nature sounds and visual images of hands working with materials like rope, lines, canvas, wood, and metal. It's sooo soothing to watch. His videos are not filled with babbling and talking just to hear oneself talk. This is the essence of self-reliant outdoor living and I love it.

Your post credits words of wisdom were gold! They are words to live by. Companies, bosses, everybody will squeeze all they can from you. But don’t think that as soon as that door hits you on the backside there isn’t someone lined up to take your place. They aren’t Loyal to you no matter how much they demand your loyalty to them.

I still remember having to back pack the old style waxed canvas military pup tent that weighed a ton with a pair two piece wooden 55 years ago when I was a Boy Scout. I even still have the USMC pocket knife. Such memories. Remember “ never give up and never surrender “

I use some military gear but I never thought of using a pup tent for a hammock. Great idea

Thank you so much for this video.
We used to set up my Dad's pancho in the backyard as a tent. Thanks for demonstrating all of your rope skills, and knots. I really appreciate you!

Don't see how anybody could get bored.I love these builds. Its like a cliff hanger. Can't wait to see what comes next. And as far as the hardcore hatchet that is one of the best purchases I've made. Nothing but pure American made quality there.

Simple AF. You can’t beat old school. Missed your commentary but was ok. It was good to see the big roll of jute rope, is not often used these days and great to see you whip the end, a good instructional video. Thanks again

I am watching the video again 5 hours later, it is almost 0800 here in Western Australia, we are 12 hours ahead of you and 11,000 miles away, your little bell goes off when it comes to my email just after midnight our time so it is Monday here . It was very heartfelt words you spoke of your life at the end of the show. Interesting your comment about employment, I have always said "if you are not happy in your work, you wont work happy", -it is time to move. Thanks for being here.

Another Great one! Just imagine how much better that Community Coffee would have been with some Bacon with those cackle berries!! In the Army we never seemed to be in an area with trees but I do love the concept and thought put into the multiple ways to make the gear work!
