Awesome song, this was played on my record player until the single record was worn out in 1978! Of course I was only 9 years old and listening to a lot of different music then, (From KISS to Motown), but I absolutely loved Nick Gilder doing this song!
This song came out in summer '78 (I was going into 9th grade). The video is from a movie called 'Angel' from 1983, she was wasting all the bad guys. They had a sequel or two as well, I remember 'Avenging Angel'.
Here's one, featuring the same singer, when he was front man for Sweeney Todd: Roxy Roller. Also, here's a fun fact: when Guilder left Todd for his solo career, he was replaced by a very young singer named Bryan Adams, who eclipsed both the band and their former singer in the number of hits he released.
Dani, don't know if you have ever seen and checked the following, Suzi Quatro & Chris Norman "Stumblin In". If you haven't, please do so...it is one iconic songs from the '70's. You won't regret it.
Nick and his family moved to British Columbia, Canada and no he's not a one hit wonder! After some rough times and wanting a solo career, Bryan Adams became lead singer but only for a short time, Bryan was 15 and I remember Sweeney Todd playing at my grade 8 dance, super guy! I've known Nick and his family since the 1960s, I went to elementary school with Nick's brother Steve, and met Bryan Adams in 1977, have kept in touch with both over the years! Nick lives about half hour from me.
loved this song when it came out... now..decades later (and as a parent) I listen to the lyrics and ..hmmmmm ... yeah....what the hell was anyone thinking??
It was the Seventies, when fifteen year old Cherie Currie could go on stage in lingerie and sing "Hello Daddy, Hello Mom, I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb!" When twelve year old Brooke Shields could star in a movie about a child prostitute and do her own nude scenes. It was a very different time.
Yes hello it's me again hey there guess I like that song reminds me of my wife when she was 16 when we met had to fight off a lot of guys to keep her but as you know I'm 10 years ago she went to heaven on December 10th and a few days later my daughter had a baby girl and gave my wife daughter gave her her middle name another old song is fake glass bottles aint got time anymore from Canada Toronto Scarborough Ontario Carl Supertramp Garnett hide in your shell
Hello, here is a suggestion for which there are not so many requests, but maybe i have a chance after all: 'DAKOTA MOON' with the song 'SING YOU TO SLEEP'. i think you will like it best regards
Dani- i noticed something very interesting on this channel- no music from canada (is c.dion really canadian? and she is always paired with a non-canadian). does anyone know BTO (american woman)? big connection with usa.
I remember roller skating to this song in the 70's.
The video is taken from a movie called "Angel" but the song is older

This song stood out even back then. Just a cool vibe. The other Nick Guilder song that grows on you is "Here Comes The Night".

Seeing your eyes light up at the first chorus is priceless.
One of my favorite songs, thank you for haring your reaction!
Dani Thank You for reacting to My request of Hot Child In The City.

The song is about child prostitution. As others have said the video is taken from a movie about the same thing.
My grandfather had this movie on vhs. It's a cult classic movie
Great song! Love his voice! Dani, what about reacting to Randy VanWarmer, Just When I Needed You Most”
First woot!

This song is Canadian lol
@@joemachine4714 thanks- and as alanis would say 'ironic'
Celine Dion is Canadian and she is NOT always paired with another singer.
BTO did NOT record American Woman.
Who could have imagined he would later be arrested for being a pedophile. 😳
If you haven't heard it yet ,Tom Macdonald ' NAKED ' is a fun song I believe you would enjoy . #HogHeaven
Good Luck Try Suzi Quatro The Queen of Rock
The video has nothing to do with the song so it's not worth commenting on. You should have watched the video with Nick Gilder singing.
It's about a young " streetwalker" wow....just wow...and it thinks it gets it.
