Vault works brilliantly - well done Crow Hill guys for simplifying the download system. Love your products - not just good sounds but musician friendly and creatively inspiring. Keep it up.
I installed these yesterday as by chance I was sorting out my space and needed to give my Mac sone TLC. Very smooth installation process and a great idea to rotate these.
After an online hiatus of my own due to family reasons, I think I’ll jump back on and get creating again.
This was a bit like SNL's Delicious Dish...just playin. Very informative and helpful video explaining the new process of Vaults and the implement of the download manager. I do understand your logic behind the removal of each Vaults instrument as the time passes....however...it puts those who aren't writing music on their computer at moment, or have even decided to start composing music for the first time in their life at a disadvantage. Not every one that writes music exists now. I would just hate to see someone miss out on something wonderful merely because they were unaware of the world of DAW's/plugins/virtual instruments...we all start at different times...and these great sounding instruments would be very useful for beginners that need a helping hand...a lot of us didn't have access to free anything when we first started to write/perform music

Seriously…. Bravo! We all know the history and the love involved and I am so glad that is continuing through Vaults.
Okay, I actually like that the vault doesn't live forever, we live in a world full of possibilities and sometimes you get choice paralysis. I thought of LABS, and frankly there is almost too many to choose from, I like this style. Very cool, amazing sounds!

Quick little question, there are all Vaults from 001 to 006, but 002 (R+D Strings) is missing. Are they missing by accident or are we no longer able to pick up the strings? Thanks!

quick question: why cant i choose an install path for the app itself?
I believe you can in the Crow App settings itself but before you download any instruments.
I'm not at my DAW and might confuse this with Spitfire's approach and LABS+, but I'm sure I do have Crow Hill data on a dedicated hard disc and not on the system drive on in my user folders... which I hate if apps just do this.
@@CirTap yes, once the app is installed, you can pick where the other files are gonna go.
it's just that the app itself is automatically installed on your system drive. i mean, it's only like half a gigabyte but still - i always love not having to install stuff on my system drive/partition. because it adds up

Then let's see if the update's really that smooth and how I can switch from the beta instrument settings to the release version w/o having it all ruined. Thank god I'm not a volume download plan with these instrumenr plugin providers 😁

Vaults beta still exists so you won’t have to switch anything out.
Simply move to the new system in new projects, or stay in beta - dealers choice :)
@@camgoold Not much of a choice to make here: as expected; after installing the app the "new" VAULTS don't show up. I'd be happy to switch and save the two gigs for the beta on my hard drive, but I can't.

Will this work in 5 years? Labs has just stopped working because my os is too old.
You could reinstall the old v1.5.1 LABS plugin on your "old machine", and it should work with the products you alrealy have.
Until... boom, subscription. You wont fool me again, Spitf... I mean, Crow Hill.
No subscription plans for us. We ditched that when we suggested it to the community.

I just love you guys. I bought concussion even thought I didn't actually need it just because you are so... freaking musiciany. Is that a word? I don't know but you are that. Musiciany. Thank you for doing what you do.
First, a huge thank you for all the free content you have put out and the fantastic instruments. While I appreciate all the work that has gone into this, you are making people jump through unnecessary hoops, and in the future, your server might be down, or gone. Please reconsider this move to centralisation and logging in, and rather allow individual install exe files that can saved for future installation. I have made it a personal vow not to use any plugin or DAW I cannot archive and install at a later date.
I think ahead at how we improve technique etc. Sometimes I want to go back to something and tweak it, remix it, or simply rework it into something new. Everything has a life span, and your company is no different. What do we do when we can no longer install these things? Again, thank you, but please reconsider this decision. LABS was enough to cure me of using any products dependent on the supplier still being around when I next fire up my DAW.
In the Crow Hill App settings there is an option “Delete Installation File” which defaults to “On” but you can change it to “Off” and it’ll keep all the executable installers in the selected download folder. This will save you downloading things again later should you want to install them in the future.
@@StephenTallamyMusic Oh brilliant! Thank you for clearing that up. It makes me very happy. I am swamped with graphic design work currently, but I'll be installing the new version shortly to test.

@@StephenTallamyMusicThanks. Keeping the installation files gives it longevity. Labs forced a shutdown and refused to work without a new version. At that point, I was glad not to have used it much. I deleted it permanently along with my then useless manual backups. As a result, I'll never install or purchase any product from the company again. I don't like being held hostage.
@@IS- for this very reason we are still keeping the Vaults BETA plugin available to download again, just so that if you’ve used it before the new Vaults you can still keep it for loading old sessions (I’ve used the Celest-a-tone loads!)
Amazing instruments and sounds, but the app failed on me. It failed to install two of the six instruments: R & D Strings and Attic Grand Piano. I installed Vaults just for these two, but these failed to install. The other instruments installed without any issues. I refreshed, quit the app and restarted to no avail. It deleted the download automatically, so nothing happens when I click Install. I reordered these to see if I can redownload, but this didn't work either. How can I get these two instruments to redownload and install? I would love to make music with the R&D Strings and Attic Grand Piano. Please help...

I don't think that getting rid of an old vaults instrument every month is a good idea. Why not keep them all incase someone needs exactly that chorus synth or something else? Or at least get rid of the least popular every 6 months or so for example.
Full Disk Access for the app - no thank you! AND my stuff didnt show up when I logged in - Instantly uninstalled.
You can opt to not use silent installation. :) it does mean you have to enter your password a little more frequently.
Any items in your account will show up, new purchases can be pulled by clicking the refresh icon.
Please make sure you use the same email address as you have on the website so your instruments can be allocated.

You don’t have to use that. Simply use silent install option. You will simply have to enter your system password for every download. As for your stuff not showing please check that you don’t have a secondary account with us that needs to be merged. Please stick with us as we will be using this app for all our future releases.
