I was there, his sister Melanie is one of my best friends since 1988. I've known Georgio closely since then. His sister was his hair stylist so she traveled a lot with him. They were like peas and carrots. You hardly saw one without the other. His sisters and his father and his closest friends are still in shock. I only spoke to him Christmas Eve morning and we were planning our New Years bash which was going to be at his home. He told me I couldn't drink all the vodka like last time. He was so happy , so excited for his documentary he's been working on for a long time. It's so beautiful, I was there when he was doing much of the voice over on it. I'm excited for everyone to see it when it comes out in the spring. His last gift to everyone . He was a beautiful man, inside and out. The funniest human I've ever met. He's the godfather to my children, and they loved uncle George so much. His dogs came from my dog, I bred my dog and he fell in love with two of the puppies, so I surprised him on his birthday with both of them. He was so happy he started crying. I find myself watching these sorts of videos because I never really got to enjoy what everyone else did. He was just Georgio to me, i didn't really even listen to his music much because christ, he played it at his house every fucking time I was there. He'd say " I'm gonna make a fan out of you yet lovey" but I already was, I was never going to let him know it tho. I miss you with every ounce of my soul and I love you even more. We think about you everyday, we take peace knowing your with mom. She has her baby boy back. I love you xoxo

Thank you for posting this bc , although there is really nothing that can soothe the heartache I feel over George's passing , as a fan, hearing from people that knew and loved him really helps to ease the pain of his passing even if only for a few minutes. He truly was a beautiful soul inside and out, his talent cannot be matched ever in my eyes. I've never know an artist that put so much love and emotion into his songs and performances. We were together fur 43 years. He died of Cancer on 2018. I have never gotten over losing my husband. He had the most beautiful personality and always had a smile on his face. I met George when i was in my youth modelling in Europe. The thing that struck me the most about him was his down to earth attitude. He never wanted the spotlight on himself, instead, he truly cared about those around him and always thought what he could do to make this world a better place. Genuine soul George he was. When someone suffers through depression and substance abuse, all the adoration in the world doesn't mean a thing. The pain remains. Who knows what went on in the poor man's head when he was alone. Absolutely! I often wonder as he got older if he wished he hadn’t smoked so much. His voice was effortless and could sing anything. His voice was a gift from god. Heck he was a gift from God. He was able to use his voice like a fine tune instrument. An example is when he sang Somebody to love by Freddie Mercury. I always laugh when I think of when he said he got thrown out of chorus because he couldn’t stop talking as a little boy. His father told him he couldn’t sing!

Born to compose and sing songs with messages for life.. the impact on young people was enormous.. I was very down at one time.. and walking through a department store.. someone put on George singing “You gotta have faith” it was a pivotal moment..

Lisa Wilkinson - He sure knew. Somehow I have the feeling that he may have felt unworthy of such adoration. When someone suffers through depression and substance abuse, all the adoration in the world doesn't mean a thing. The pain remains. Who knows what went on in the poor man's head when he was alone. Obviously, music occupied a large portion of his thoughts. One thing is for sure....he was hurting inside.

Absolutely! I often wonder as he got older if he wished he hadn’t smoked so much. His voice was effortless and could sing anything. His voice was a gift from god. Heck he was a gift from God. He was able to use his voice like a fine tune instrument. An example is when he sang Somebody to love by Freddie Mercury.
I always laugh when I think of when he said he got thrown out of chorus because he couldn’t stop talking as a little boy. His father told him he couldn’t sing!
