I'm confused!!! Is it the 'defence' showing the "uneventful" car ride to the jail...or the State?? Whether it's either side..."what was the point"?? Even the Judge wanted to know. So the judge asked the lawyer, and the lawyer had to pause before she answered..."what she said, left the judge speechless too!!!

Watch it again and you’ll see him wetting his fingers and wiping them off, constantly wiping his face. He looks over at his arm and starts rubbing his arm as it looks like he’s wiping it off. He does that several times and when they come upon traffic, he lays down in the seat to hide. The way he murdered the girl and her baby, blood had to spray all over him. He may be finding he missed a spot or two. Once you see what he’s doing, you’ll see more. (Trying to get rid of DNA)

While in the patrol car, he sure is doing a lot of licking and wiping off possible blood off of him. Why they didn’t handcuff him is a mystery to me, as he is wiping off evidence. This guy is as guilty as the day is long. What a POS, to kill a baby and a mother so he can get out of paying child support is beyond me!
And he was worried about his wife finding out nd that she would divorce him and get him for child support. That child support would be for three kids. So that would mean he would be working just to pay child support so in his evil head he came up with murdering them both thinking he would get away with murder really.
It's a professional courtesy, not to handcuff fellow law enforcement coworkers. It's basically understood that we won't cuff you and you wont take advantage of the situation and act like a gentleman.

Maybe instead of doing that, people should actually look at it on an individual basis. Funny how they jump when it comes to giving each other certain courtesies and special treatment, yet have no problem handcuffing people who are being arrested for driving on a suspended license when they know damn well their license is only suspended because they didn't pay a fee or they missed a court date or something , not for a DUI or something serious... people who are not criminals- yet they are treated as such. So if they are going to act like that, then maybe they should treat everybody who is arrested the same way, including their own, and stop handing out these special courtesies to people who certainly don't deserve it just because they are wearing a badge themselves. It really is disgusting.

has something to do with the discovery process, and basically they want to catch or trap him but appear as friendly as possible to avoid death it is known he has a gun etc. when dealing with police this extra step is taken because they are more dangerous then a civilian

The prosecution has a slam-dunk case. If Aviles had nothing to hide/ didn't do it, why didn't he admit immediately that he knew the deceased woman and her child? He was also kicking dirt around the scene & he knew from training not to do that at a crime scene. He was doing that to hide his shoe prints from when he had been at the scene previously.

He wanted her to terminate and she refused saying she’ll take care of her baby on her own. Even after the baby was born he did not change his mind, he never visited her and the baby nor offered any help to her 🤷🏽♀️

I don't mean to come across as an asshole -- I'm not smart enough to be a lawyer -- but I can't help but wonder if the attorney is a tiny example of the dumbing down in society in general. You know, lowered expectations. We saw this in the Parkland sentencing trial when the judge acted in an embarrassing manner. The judge threw little fits on more than one occasion that were completely inappropriate. p.s. Note to misogynists out there. I'm not talking about women; I'm talking about overall standards that anyone in these positions should achieve.

I will never understand how a female defense attorney could defend a person who killed a woman and a child. I guess money over morals is the answer.
It’s important that the defence attorney gives the defendant adequate counsel and defence so when he is shown to be guilty he can’t claim inadequacy. Defense lawyers can’t pick and choose who to give adequate counsel to.
She is defending his rights under the law. Everyone in this country is entitled to a proper legal defense.

This is the first video of this case that I have watched. Between the prosecutor who cant form a coherent sentence, the officer who smiles the ENTIRE time he is giving testimony and the vibe between the defendant and his attorney ...this seems like a s*it-show. I hope the rest of the trial hasnt been this bad.

His arrogance in thinking no one would know where she was and who she'd be meeting. This man was tasked with protecting our country at our border. His fellow agents depended on him to watch their backs and be trusted to protect their community. Allllll of that and add the trust and faith his family had in him. My mind just spirals at the levels of evil and betrayal. Griselda trusted him enough to allow him near her son. And in death, he separated them from each other as well. He doesn't know what love or compassion are.

Defense tried to manipulate the officers words. Not happening. The border patrol suspect, slouching in the truck, imo, didn't want anyone to recognize him in the back of a police vehicle. Looked that way to me. Every time a video, or other evidence is getting ready to be shown, the suspects breathing increases, throughout all the evidence. Crazy how calm this guy is. No remorse what so ever. He probably figured he wouldn't be charged.

He definitely had some sort of plan in his mind and began executing. Remember, he injected the little baby in his leg with an unknown substance causing the baby to permanently lose the ability to walk, and necrosis at the injection site. That was just a few weeks prior when the mother went to meet him and she ran back to the car for something, he injected him with a decent sized needle and the mother returned to the baby screaming in pain. They were in a park or outdoor space and she thought it was insect bite. Multiple hospital visits, antibiotics, etc. This monster was definitely trying to harm and kill the baby and mother before their unfortunate deaths. Premeditated and sick!
