arh thats a great technique Maryann, laying a piece on top gives another gost print and holds the plastic closer to the bottom sheet 🥰🐝🌹🦋 crafty hugs Donna
Wonderful tutorial and great technique! I wish I had more space to coffee dye paper. After selling our small acreage earlier this and moving to town, space is at a premium these days. LOL not to mention I have acquired 2 furry helpers right there helping whenever I craft on the small desk shared with my big computer. You definitely have to pick and choose what to craft. I inherited a ton of doilies from my grandmother and my mother I need to do something with. Anyone remember starching doilies in the days before spray starch? It seemed like a very long process to a 6 year old. I remember my grandmother, aunt and mother all celebrated and were completely fascinated when spray starch came out and became affordable. Anyway, beautiful coffee dyed papers! Have a great weekend!
I dread the day when it comes to sell our acreage! we love it here so much, I normally have the chickens running around my tables too lol I am blessed with my big craft room and really have to think about how to downsize when the time comes (wont be for a while yet) I have some of that old powdered starch by the way lol I remember it well lol I also remember when the spray starch come out and i used it, come to think of it I can't believe i used to iron!! I don't now, only paper (thank god) so glad you love the papers enjoy the rest of your weekend lovely 🥰🐝🌹🦋 crafty hugs Donna
This is the best tutorial I have seen about coffee dying papers using a plastic doily. (Even though I did wonder about using tomato sauce as a second colour until I heard your explanation).😊 Thankyou.
hey Pam, I know what you mean about finding the plastic lace its like hens teeth! glad you found some though! I have my own stash and come a cross another, thats why im selling some, It makes such a difference. 🥰🐝🌹🦋 crafty hugs to you Pam

Geepers, you sold out of A4 fast! Thank you for this tutorial. Thinking about trying this with regular plastic stencils, but not quite sure if the effects will be as lovely.
they sure did! the offcuts are still a good size thow, you could always try your hard plastic stencils, I have and they do turn out alright, but not as good as the soft plasctic lace, you might be surprised at what you get! anything is worth a try! 🥰🐝🌹🦋 crafty hugs Donna
@@JunkJournalideas ah, i was thinking that the soft lace could have a better effect but i will give it a shot with the hard plastic since that's what i have and see what happens. thanks again, crafty hugs backatya! :)
TFS! Such a great technique and love the way the paper runs out! I missed out on buying a set of the flat plastic doilies. I cannot even find any to buy where I live in Canada, they are just not made anymore. My mother used to have a bunch, but I never thought of keeping them.
Aw it's sad when you miss out on things like this! I'll keep my eyes peeled if I find anymore I'll add them to my shop again! you never know when a little treasure might turn up. Thank you so much, Esmeralda! 🥰 These papers can be used anywhere you like in a junk journal. Not everyone writes in their journal; some enjoy the visual appeal. Sorry, I'm not sure which video I was watching but you used a Brad & eyelet to use as a closure. The ribbon you suggested attaching wasn't complete because you didn't mention how to attach it the the other side. I just don't want to guess.
It was this video here Bea, ruclips.net/video/PpiSRMYGjFI/видео.html and i didnt attached the ribbon on the back Bea I just held onto it to do a demonstration for the video. but the way you would do it is put an eyelet (hole) in the back and get a long piece of ribbon, you need it doubled with a loop in the center, put the loop end in the eyelet and pull the 2 ends through the loop. check out this part here ruclips.net/video/3jrUzoIQFfs/видео.htmlsi=EYz9-NKtU4IKzJKn&t=2134 I am doing a video this Saturday on how to put grommets in the cover (hole) for adding ribbon ties. So you either have to buy some ugly plastic lace or you could just buy a lovely stencil with any design. Hundreds and hundreds of stencils already out there. So why waste money buying plastic lace? Eee-gads!
Hi there! these lacey goodies are far from ugly 🥰 there are definitely lots of beautiful stencils out there! plastic lace just gives a unique look to coffee-dyed paper that’s different from traditional stencils. plus, I love reusing items like plastic lace for that vintage effect, and it can be an affordable option for many crafters. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and happy crafting! 🥰🐝🌹🦋 hugs Donna
I do the same technique, but put the stronger mixture in a spray bottle and mist/spray wet paper. Lay a piece on top.

I do it this way too. I add stencils and sprinkle some with salt. They were all pretty.
When you first showed this technique many moons ago, I did it with cut up fabric doilies. These plastic ones look so much easier. Thanks again!!
