      I'm a friend of 5 maybe 6 different people who have DID. They have all come into my life in the last 6 months. And only in last 2 have I suspected and last month began having discussions with them. One is a girl I fell in love with. She told me she couldn't have a relationship and I didn't listen. I told her I love her unconditionally. But I have t step back because it hurts. I believe they can all work togetherm and we could have a life but im letting her go and praying she comes back. I've started a book about a kid with a terrible life who grows into protector..the first super hero whose strength is his alters. Thank you for sharing..I lt helps me understand

    I have DID. I have a persecutor. I won't share their name, however, I had a time where I (the system host) "woke up" under a bridge. I was terrified and it was cold and raining. I wish people wouldnt glamourize this disorder, It can be scary at times and I wish that on nobody. I'm luckily trying to overcome it and communicate with my alters and see through this. This disorder makes people see me as dumb (because of the amnesia) they think it's fake or I'm doing it for attention. I want to quickly thank you for making these videos so I can learn more about myself, and feel less alone, knowing I'm not the only one going through this. After years of brushing it off as, "I'm just scatterbrained" I'm finally accepting it, getting the help I need and I hope one day I can educate others on this topic too

    I used to have a persecutor who became a protector thanks to this video back in the day. It helped me understand to not fight fire with fire, to open my arms to her instead, and I'm so greateful for this video. Thank you so much for reuploading it. It took a long time, but we eventually became really close as host and protector, and we integrated on Christmas Eve 2020, and are dealing with things much better together. @@atelalu1 So the videos they are re-uploading are their much older videos. When they started this channel the host at the time was Chloe. Later on, Chloe and Nina integrated to make Nin. Nin was the host for a while (I think about 1.5 yearsish) and recently a few months ago, Nin and Kyle (the systems primary protector) integrated to make Kya. So Chloe is still around in her own way, her personality isnt as pronounced as it was before since many of them have integrated together and she isnt the main "host" anymore. If you watch their newest video explaining what happened to their videos, you can very much see Nin and Kyles personalities in Kya, and in that you see a bit of Chloe since Nin was Chloe and Nina together. I dont have DID so I hope I am explaining that correctly and using the right terms. :(

I do have C-PTSD and amnesia from those experiences, on top of that regaining and holding some of the memories from that time in my life has been very difficult. I don't have DID, but when I learned how this disorder manifests, my heart broke into a million pieces, and to think some individuals think this is something to joke about or trivialize. A child is so precious, so innocent. It is absolutely infuriating that anyone suffering from this was traumatized so severely. All of you are incredibly strong and resilient, and my heart goes out to you. I wish everyone the best, and please know you are the epitome of strength. You are incredible people with so much to offer.

    I don't have DID and I absolutely don't want to compare myself to people with DID, but the explanation about the persecutor and how to treat them reminds my of my own story.
    I grew up in a not so healthy household (I don't want to get in any details, but in comparison to whatever you have been through, my experience is nothing). That's why I became a very sad person with social phobia, etc.
    In addition to that I went through some other things in a short span of time (2017/2018).
    That's when everything went downhill. At first I became very outgoing, chatty and confident, that sadness almost completely disappeared, but a new emotion appeared instead, it was unbearable anger and HATE.
    Out of nowhere I would slip into this extreme rage. Due to my past I developed a strong self control (you know, to not anger that certain person from my childhood). It came in handy at this point, because of that I was always able to remove myself from other people into an empty room and luckily no one ever noticed what was going on.
    That anger wasn't against myself, but against every person around me, especially my family. The thoughts I had were dark and today I don't even understand those thoughts anymore.
    Because I was scared of losing control at some point and hurting someone else instead of myself, I decided to go to a psychiatric hospital. They guessed I might have developed a borderline disorder, which they couldn't confirm.
    They did a lot of tests, but it was this one thing my therapist said, that changed everything:"maybe you're actually not angry, but because of all the events and your past your brain got confused about the way of how to express sadness. Maybe you're not angry, but disappointed, because you feel betrayed and let down. Except your sadness back and the new bubbly side. Maybe that's who you actually are, but it was never able to break out." This opend my eyes.
    When you said it's more harm than good to make the persecutor the evil person, it reminded me of that. An angry person is most likely a very hurt person. That person needs love and healing, instead of even more rejection and pain.

    • @fbxn
      @fbxn Год назад +2

      Anger is sadness, anger is fear, the fear eats the soul. Love disperses the fear, automatically, just us (turning on) the light disperses the darkness. The persecutor can feel loved and become the cleverest protector, she has lived a few dangerous things and tough situations, and she has survived, she is a total badass and she deserves to live a wholesome adventurous life. Amen❤❤❤

      I(Tegan, the host) can relate to this. In our system, Vivian(we nickname her Chara. Side note: wr have nicknames for eachother.) is a persecutor. But not intentionally. She's very emotionally reserved and lacks empathy for most people. Because of this she is very... Blunt, more rational but doesn't express much emotion. And she often comes off as very verbally violent. When she's highly misunderstood. I thought this would be a good example. I love her as a sister, and while it took years to develop this dynamic. We accept her as she is because we understand that she is in pain. The same goes for Valerie, a protector that used to be a persecutor. So very much.. They're not evil.. They're just hurting 🖤💛

Especially persecutors. I did know that that was an alter who hurts the system but I had no idea how to talk to them when they come out? I still am not sure, we are not friends any more but I remember their persecutor came out once and I just left the conversation because I was afraid I am going to hurt them (it was in a moment when they were already leaving so I made sure it wasn't rude or hurtful but I was worried that I had NO CLUE how to make them feel comfortable...) it's a shame I found your channel so late but I will still gladly educate myself, in case I meet someone else with this disorder so I can feel much more confident I'm not going to hurt them by accident

THEN you get the diagnosis and months later you come across one of your prosecutors. Only prior information about prosecutors that you have is this video. I'm so thankful really from the bottom of my heart that this was the first information I got and not The Split or something. I didn't need to wonder what is happening, I didn't need to get afraid. I knew right then and there how to act and why the prosecutor is how she is and I got to love her since the first second I met her. I got to have the most healthy journey with my DID just because of you. I'm so thankful. Chloe, I know your'e integrated but you really did change my life.

    I have an alter that im pretty sure is a persecutor by what you explained except She doesn't seem to want to hurt me but She shoves others away and hates everyone I love or gets close to me. She lashes out and it can get pretty ugly. My partner knows of Her and it hurts me to see his pained face when She lashes at him because She doesn't think he's good enough for me and every male figure in our lives have been abusive and shitty minus maybe two but She hates them all regardless. I try hard to keep Her under control but I feel so much pain from Her that I know She has taken on due to past abuse and trauma. I dont know how to work with Her yet but watching this video I will say had me in tears and bawling because all I want to do is take the pain She feels off Her shoulders so She maybe doesn't hate so hard and so biased and your video just hit so hard in a place I know She felt too. Im hoping maybe that means She can feel more heard and understood and I can start working with Her so she's not as aggressive and hurting those I love because She's trying to protect me in some messed up way. I know its stupid that a RUclips video would help someone with a disorder as severe as DID can be, but you put it in such a perspective for me that it gave me a bit of hope that I can help Her and in turn myself. I only have 3 and She is the one who has taken all my pain and hurt on her shoulders so I want Her to know She is valid and deserves to feel good too. You really did help me a lot seeing this video thank you for all you do your videos are so educational and heartfelt to the point I can personally relate so much that it makes living with DID feel not so lonely. ♡

      It's taken a lot of therapy and talking for Her to cope with things and not hate so hard. She's a lot calmer now, but She's got a long way to go but I understand someone who was literally born and shaped by pain and a lifetime of hurt taking the brunt of it all isn't going to get better overnight. I have better control over Her and it doesn't give me as bad of a headache to have Her out as it used to.

      Thanks a lot for saying this!
      ... Honestly, my boyfriend has DID and his persecutor alter has made me have some distressing times and it continues to go on. He says that all the alters do not want me to be with him, and belittle me... I do not know, I am not a person that understands herself on her own properly, I do have my own issues and my boyfriend has made me find the light somewhat.
      Yet, nowadays he wants to break up with me and refrains himself from me while the alters front him. I know that it is inappropriate to vent on the net but... I cannot hold it in anymore, I want to be his support and strength. I am not willing to go away, even if he or his alters don't want any kind of support, I just want him to know that I will be there whenever he needs me or not. Am I doing things wrong? I do not know, am I being too pushy, I do not know!..
      P.S.: I think that alters can have their own thoughts and say different things to the person in front of them and this might be misleading, so I am not trying fall for it... I have been in a distance relationship with my boyfriend and would see each other in real life soon. Even though he has said "He doesn't love me anymore" I won't believe that 'till I see him. Because I do know he normally enjoys my companionship yet prefers to be blunt or alone most of the times that the alters front him time to time and I would call out to him no matter what, saying "I am here."
      ...I really do not know anymore, sorry for taking your time to read this but any kind of support and comment is okay. :')
      ++After talking to him a bit, I am convinced that he either wanted to stay alone for some days or that alter kept on intimating him (or see what I aimed to do). Better ask my boyfriend that later

    I'm sorry, I have a quiestion that's been on my mind. If a persecutor can't handle or deal with the trauma and pain they're experiencing, is that when integration happens? Or is it possible for the persecutor to build another amnesic wall from which another alter develops?

      Hmm good question, if anyone has personal experience I’ll love to hear so.
      From what I understand, both situations can occur when an alter is too overwhelmed. It’s not usually a conscious choice to integrate/ fuse or split (though I have heard of systems that can chose to fuse). But when an alter, persecutor or not, is really struggling with mental stress or trauma, they tend to either integrate or the system splits and forms another alter. Nina from the dissociaDID system was said to be dealing with some issues and not handling things well when they fused with Chloe to form Nin. This perhaps is as their mind felt they would able to deal with the issues better with the strength of the two combined. It is a coping mechanism after all. I’ve also heard systems mention in times of overwhelming stress that they split off another alter that sometimes is to help deal with the problem at hand, or to hold the pain.
      TLDR; it’s individual to each system, but both scenarios are common. And the fusing or splitting of prosecutors doesn’t seem to be any different than other alters in the system.

    • @i_am_amberleaf6708
      @i_am_amberleaf6708 2 года назад +38

      Oh! And another ‘option’ would be dormancy. Some alters can be dormant due to a few reasons, one being if they can’t deal with what they’re going through. There is no set length to dormancy it can be short or up to decades.

    • @chris5415
      @chris5415 2 года назад +25

      @@i_am_amberleaf6708 Thank you so much! That explains it really well. So there's three possible 'options' for when any alter can't handle their pain: fusing, splitting and dormancy. It isn't necessarily a conscious choice to do any of these three but they can happen.

    Is there a video on getting over manipulation from a past abuser? I really struggle to leave my trauma behind me because sometimes if feel I'm making it up, or I misread intentions. If anyone has suggestions on maybe some mental exercises it would be of great help.

    • @ultravioletcello
      @ultravioletcello 2 года назад +6

      Hey, I don't know of any videos on moving on from trauma, but I do have complex PTSD and am studying psychology. For me personally, re-evaluating or becoming aware of the effects of manipulation helps; Think of something that your abuser stopped you doing, or affected your behaviour, point that out in your head, and try and cement that as negative. Hopefully it will help break the mental patterns caused by consistent manipulation, and allow you to move past habits. Ofc that's only one suggestion and it works differently for everyone, so I would suggest seeing a therapist if possible!
      But to be clear; you are most definitely not making it up. If someone manipulated or abused you, that is the abuser to blame, and definitely not you. You did not deserve it, or make it up. In fact, a common sign of avoidant abuse behaviour is wishing that you had been traumatized, or telling yourself you made it up, fun fact! That.. wasn't actually fun but you know what I mean ^^;

      One thing my therapist told me that worked for me is to actively consider what the likelihood of the person who actually cares for you would willing engage in that situation or behavior. I stop, think about the realistic outcomes and how I could handle it, and if I can't get a grip on it, I ask a person I know will be honest

      As someone who struggles with ptsd and c-ptsd and has dealt with an abuser, I'd recommend poetry or journaling. Writing things out can help you properly process it, and if you're able, showing other people your poetry or writing can help you realize how Not Okay it was from their reaction.

    From what I’m learning about DID, I want to understand every aspect of the disorder. This is a part of it. I might not fully understand the disorder and having the knowledge that the disorder is made by trauma at a young age gives me the understanding of the persecutors. I can’t fully emphasize with the persecutors because I don’t have the same experiences but I can understand why they do the things that they do.

    hi! i hope you don’t mind me asking (and i hope this isn’t at all rude or anything) but can you drive a car? i know the law says you need to be 16 but what happens if an alter that is younger than that age were to front while driving? also would each of your alters have to take a test? you totally don’t have to answer but it’s just something i have been sondering

    • @Ghost_of_
      @Ghost_of_ 2 года назад +7

      For legal things they use the body’s name and legal documentation, so the system would only have to take it once. I think the system is allowed to drive and if they are dissociating or notice it they would pull over. However, I know some systems who prefer not to drive bc they don’t want to risk a flashback or dissociation. I hope this helps!

    Understanding why and how a persecutor is how they are is key. Our persecutor is the embodiment of anger. He protected us in a very physical way, and he didn't know where to put that residual anger. He blamed me for constantly putting us in dangerous situations. For us, understanding that anger is not the enemy really helped our relationship with our persecutor. He is now in the process of rehabilitation, but he will fight if he has to. And at this present time, I need him to stay like that.

They could be so great as a protector and the system needs them as well. How can I show to my loved ones this persecutor's nice side? And how can I fully trust this persecutor? I mean I don't know if they lie about this and I also fear them.

      For our system, and our fiance's system, yes but it is extremely rare and usually results in a new alter being revealed, something deeply connected to the subconscious. Thats just for me and my fiance though, neither of us formally diagnosed. Take your grain of salt.

    • @floresdeisla
      @floresdeisla 2 года назад +5

      Yes, this is a thing that can happen especially when you're dealing with high-stress situations and fronting doesn't provide any sort of benefit. I used to shut down a lot during my first couple years of college from going through so much at once. Including traumatic events.

    • @Mandalaaxo

      That would be on the severe "dissociation" end of the disorder, I would wager. Dissociation at the furthest end is when you are not connected to yourself consciously. I do not have DID, but I do experience dissociation.

      @fieryfox4493 Год назад

    My aunt age 37 had did and schizophrenia her whole life but she believes the voice she hears is a Jihn I always thought it was a schizophrenia hallucination that tells her that it's a jihn but today she had a schizophrenia attack saying that she is hearing the jihn again while I was with her I told her he isn't real there's nothing such as "jihn" and she said he was screaming at her that he is real to the point where SHE SWITCHED but idk how she s a weird case she NEVER switches it only happens rarely like once every year or 2 but she hears her other personality from time to time along with schizophrenia hallucinations again she doesn't believe in neither did nor schizophrenia she thinks its a jihn she hears and that she's possest but today after her schizophrenia attack I realised she's dissociating she was sitting in bed I didn't think much of it because I ve never seen her switch before until she switched AND IT WAS AN ACTUAL JIHNshe believed that she was possest so much that the personality itself thinks he's a JIHN it was weird but fascinating he didn't move and only talked the only explanation I could come up with is that he only fronts once in like a decade so he maybe doesn't know how to move the body? Anyway since I was telling her it's a lie he kept saying to me I'm real I'm a jihn I possest this girl ever since she was little and there is nothing you can do to expel me and kept repeating that for like 5 min no matter what I say he said he is a jihn he firmly believed it until he dissociated and my aunt came back she told me she could see me but couldn't move or talk and told me that she wasn't lying and I ve seen it with my own eyes and that the jihn is in the back of her head telling her that he isn't fake and isn't lying and proved himself and his controll over my aunt and would harm my aunt if she ever doubts his existence again I was so confused that an actuall person an ALTER could think that he is a real jihn possessing the body so I did some research and I think he is an abuser alter and I think he couldn't stand being told that he is fake that he forced his way to front in the body but he didn't last long maybe cause he is not used to it? Anyway my mind is set and I won't stop until that jihn knows that he is a person and not a jihn.
