    The YT soaping community really needed a Palm Oil video series, there are so many contradictions, inaccuracies, accuracies, good advice, bad advice out there in the comments, its great that you set the record straight for everyone, could you do this with oat meal and label it "The difference between ground oats and colloidal oats" because the inaccuracies out there are many. As for my own method of soaping with palm oil, I have purchased reusable plastic containers that hold the amount of solid oils in my batches, I melt the palm amount that I need, add the coconut oil that I need in with the palm then weight my recipes solid oil amount into each container and store in the fridge. Its quick and easy, it address palm oils tendency to layer out when solidifying and it makes making soap just that much quicker. Thanks again for this insightful video Elly.

    Hi Elly, I enjoy your soap videos and I'm new to soap making. So far I have made s3veral batches of glycerine melt and pour soaps -so can ditch the heavy chemicals for now. But really I wanted to also refer to palm oil. Palm oil is Highly inflammatory to the human body when ingesting it. It causes all kinds of auto immune problems. So my concern is using it as a soap on top of the skin because it still gets into the pores and cause the same outcome as ingesting it. So far I use olive, avocado, coconut and almond oils-organic of course. But that's just my choice. So be careful with the palm oil. #Happysoapmaking! I would love to show you some of my soap batches.

    Hi Elly, love watching your down to earth videos. I do have a question and hope you can help as I’m relatively new to soap making. When using the soap calculation let’s say for 2400g, it shows as 3431g wet weight,then after curing it’s 2400g. So I do understand some does evaporate after 6 weeks, but 1000g ! or am I missing something.
    Thanks in advance

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking
      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  7 месяцев назад

      Hi, if you use the default full water amount, you will get a lot of evaporation! Use less water in your recipe and less to cure out.

If I'm making 2 kilograms of a batch of oils and want to add 60 Gr fragrance weight, shall I discount this from the 2 kg or add the 60 Gr to the 2 kg. In other words, should the total weight be 2 kg with the fragrance weight? Or should the total weight be 2 kg and 60 Gr all together?
