This is one of the most interesting covers I've ever heard. Having never heard of him, I was taken aback by the first verse as I didn't expect that light airy almost feminine voice. But then he dropped into the fully masculine voice and shocked me again. Then there was the unique but clever instrumental arrangement. It was super interesting and his style topped it off. And then he topped it off again with his evolving and intensifying performance. I love this because it's just plain fresh.

This is a great example of Chest to Mix to False/Head voice. He's using all three and mixing them well. Expressions work well, his dynamics are balanced (possible engineered), word painting and phrasing-approach, were clearly expressed.
Yes, it appears to be the trend today...to over do it! Dynamics are a missing art with music these days. But I see soo much potential for him...huhh, if only these singers could hire from time to time, vocal coaches.

I just played this song for my mom in my car, and after you started singing she looked at me absolutely shocked. She said “Oh my God he’s amazing, who is he?” But I didn’t tell her until it was over to add to the experience. I couldn’t help but to notice she looked distraught listening to you sing, and when I asked her why; she told me your singing was making her emotional. When you hit that first high note during the chorus, I saw tears flowing down her face. She listened to the rest of the song in complete awe and in a very emotional state. Your music makes people feel things, Von. You’re phenomenal. Please keep doing what you do.

Negative nellies have no idea what they are looking at. This guy is paying attention to every single word for diction and emotion/meaning, breath control, voice control, diaphragm, body movements, hitting a huge range of notes, etc, etc. I don't even know all that he is doing. He is using timing for musical phrases as well as emphasis. This is not just belting out a song in the car. Why are there not millions of views? He is amazing. Great artist. Unbelievable talent.

Wmat M you might want to get your ears checked... (almost) every note was SPOT ON. You can take your tuner out if you don’t believe me. And you must not be very familiar with counter-tenor because that’s what his range is. They were very popular in early Italian opera, and someone with a voice like his is VERY rare. If you don’t like his voice that’s your opinion but please educate yourself before making statements like that.
