- A walkthrough of the ZX Spectrum game, Dynamite Dan II. From the recording originally sent to www.rzxarchive.... . The instructions for this game state that you have to plant a bomb on the final island to blow up Dr Blitzen's lab, before leaving. However, there's no way to do this - so in this video the guy just gets back on your airship and is then killed by Dr Blitzen. .
Recorded using "rollback", a feature of the emulator which allows you to mark a point, which you can then roll back to later if you get in trouble, and try again. More info. on the channel "About" page: / rzxarchive

How wonderful to see this again. I must have spent hundreds of hours in the mid eighties playing this on my 48k ZX Spectrum. They were happy days!

Great game. This and the original were the first games I remember showing it was possible to have colourful graphics with no colour clash. Great programming by Rod Bowkett. Shame he didn’t make more games.
Just amazing how much of the music from this game is still in my head 35 years later...
haha! I just came here as the theme tune to Desert Island Discs came on and I couldn't remember where I'd heard it before!
When I was 10 I was playing hours and hours and it was the first time I heard Chopin and Vivaldi in my life. I remember that only for seeing all these colors and music AT THE SAME TIME I loved to play it. It was incredible in these times, the amazing 80's. 36 years ago...Oh my God.
I *may* be the only person who ever found this, but there's a speedrun technique (using a bug, no cheats) to skip to the final level.
The first screen with the blimp, drop down two rungs of the ladder below the platform under the blimp and push yourself against the right-hand platform, wait for Blitzen to come along from the right-hand edge of the screen and then go up the ladder quickly and jump on his head (difficult to time it right, goggles can help, creatures sometimes mess it up).
If you do time it right, you can keep moving right and jumping/walking on his head until you go off the screen to the right.
You'll likely land on a small a platform on a really messed up screen, drop off to the left and end up on the final level.
You wernt the only one : ) I noticed that too. I wrote into the tips thing at "Crash" - wasnt published. I never worked out if you could actually play the record and finish the game from the last island, and looking at the end of this video i never would have known!
There were a couple of other places where the lay of the land was right to use the same technique - you could use it to jump from islands 2 to 3 too.
@@tubewatcher97 Yep, if you use that trick to get to the last level, it does complete the game if you use the disc and return to the blimp with fuel as normal. Then you get to be disappointed at the lack of ending screen! I guess they never expected anyone to be able to finish it.
Not only am i proud to be the first uploader to have produced a longplay of Dynamite Dan II,...but just to let Dynamite Dan fans know i have now also produced the first 128k version longplay too :-) It's now up on my channel,....very interesting to hear the 128k AY chip for this game.
Loved this game and played it for ages. I even found a bug on the first level which took me straight to level 5 I think it was? It was the level with the musical instruments on.
I never knew there a Part 2 until today! ..back in the day i used to play the original. Tough has hell!

I know this game :) it was too hard for me but do you know Snowman ? Most epic insane hardest game ever . I have never seen end . Please make video for it so epic hard game . My first loaded game on spectrum also ::)
I played this a lot on my Spectrum +3. Never got very far, mainly because the game had an annoying habit of crashing and causing the whole Spectrum to reset!
Amazing there's no colour clash 😮
