This was definitely one of those "I don't know what the hell is going on, but I MUST continue to play this" kinda games. I had ZERO understanding about the objective of this game, but I kept loading it up everyday for a while there. Eventually I just gave up. Good to see it played properly. LOL!
I played this for years and it was quite an achievement to get one stick of dynamite. On a real c64 if you'd got to say 17:19 there's no way to control the timing of the jump so you'd be constantly starting the whole game again.
Tom Evans Timing doesn’t matter. If you’re on the edge of the trampoline the baddy can’t get you. But agree in principal! I had this and loved it and played it all the time but can’t remember having more than one stick of dynamite!!
wow great.. this is one of the games, i played 1-2 rounds and then turned off the computer, to play games like Tusker, Vendetta, Giana Sisters and so on.. :D It remembers me to Jet Set Willy 2, one of my first original games :-)
This game has the visual stylings of the Spectrum; you know, the whole clear-cut sprite thing, the clear distinction between object and blank space, and the smaller color palette utilized. Never played this game as a kid, neither the Spectrum original (I don't think any in the states owned a Speccy anyway) or the c64 version. I've seen videos of both version online now. Could it be that this classic Spectrum game looks and sounds better in its C64 incarnation?
I found myself whistling the main tune of Dynamite Dan and then find your playvideo. Never saw the ending. Thanks and cheers from Finland.
unbelievable. a huge riddle from my childhood now solved.
A masterclass in pixel perfect gameplay! Used to play this back in '86, didn't realize how much like Jet Set Willy this game was.

And people come saying Dark Souls is a hard game...
Exactly.
This scene was REALLY fucking hard. :(
Нереально было в своё время сыграть эту игру, ну, хоть так узнал, как это проходить надо...
this was one WEIRD game. many of those on c64
It was unrealistic to play this game at one time, well, at least I learned how to play it...
great! thanks...i finish this masterpiece now...after 20 year...with a trainer...but without you the last part...wow ..
I use an tool assisted emulator. I doubt that this game is really possible without trainers or savestates.

it's really hard and weird game. C64 rulez :)
No way Monty Mole has his own YT channel. Imma gonna search for Miner Willy now…
I can imagine why parents hated the sound of this game. 😄 Jumping Dan's special sound becomes annoying very fast.

I finished the game on Spectrum when I was 12 without any cheats, so it is possible of course.
damn it i never could get out of he safe!
What about the dynamite?
I always hated this game.. but I love it the mozart theme.
is there a version for pc to play?
Via a C64 emulator such as CCS ?
stop the music
the only that call me the attention of this game was the open music from mozart.. the game is awful.
IKR. "Alla Turco"
The music rendition is awful too. Not only the instrumentation, but listen to it at 0:10-0:12.
