@Trevor Ravencroft Nice try, bully Trevor Ravencroft, why don't you pick on someone your own size? We all knew "pretend tough guys" like you in grade school. Leave Zu alone and pick on me, a white guy, just like you, got it? White racists like you, give we enlightened white men a bad name. EVERYTHING Zu wrote is spot on correct. Weak and wimpy bully, Trevor, attacked Zu personally, for her true comment, accusing her of just blaming all white people whenever she gets the chance. Weak wimp, Trevor, then made the idiotic comment that ALL reporters are are stupid and ask stupid questions. WRONG, dumb shit! NOT "just the way it is." Just because you lack brains and empathy, and are incapable of seeing Zu's viewpoint thru her eyes, it doesn't mean you must baselessly attack her for being racist toward white people. Whenever a white person, like you or me, tries to "Whitesplain" the black mind, black experience, or black intentions, in our society . . . you make yourself the perfect example of why systemic racism is still alive and well in America. You can become an ally of the black community, but you can never speak for them or completely understand THEIR experience (even if your wife and all your best friends are black). "You get that," Trevor?" I know this will make your head explode, Trevor, but Zu's comment was smarter and more thoughtful than yours. No worries, I can help you, Trevor. There are 100's of brilliant black historians that may help you break out of your tendencies. Here is a list of 20 Black Scholars that may assist you in your education, Trevor. That is the actual timeline. I ought to know, as I grew up in and around motown, though I was only a child of the 70's and 80's. But, Motown/Westbound founder, Barry Gordon set it all into motion! Motown you didn't say Bootsy when you spoke you said Clinton namely Clinton that's what you said but whatever the timeline Bootsy was right there 18 years old playing bass for James Brown. "All things work to the good..." But you right. If it was his business, he'd be broke and out if business. He's definitely got no business interviewing Sly, but I'm glad he did. Glad Sly was here to be interviewed, and glad we were here to view it. It's all good. :)
Sly is a musical genius and a legend. If I ever get to meet him, I'll have a million questions and not one of them will involve football or Suge Knight.
I could care less about Suge, nor do I care whom Sly likes in the Super Bowl. The chances for a Sly interview are rare, why waste time on Suge and the Super Bowl? I genuinely want to know HOW Sly is doing. I want him to know just how influential his music and even more so his vision has had on the music industry. Probably can't tell with the sad state of the industry and the bubble gum product that it continues to push, but Sly's vision of a multicultural and multi-gender based band is still in effect today. If you never release anything else, it changes nothing on what you managed to do in a relatively short time. Thank you, Mr. Stewart!
I'm literally crying watching this. The music industry played such a huge role in ruining this man's life... this interview should have been treated with much more decorum. God bless Sly.
I remember Sly, saw him when I was 13 (Los Angeles Coliseum 1972), stunning and I mean stunning performance. Stevie Wonder and Chuck Berry killed the show.....100,000 people........we convinced my darling mother to drive us in a 1972 Ford Pinto 100 miles (7 of us)....white crowd on one side and a equally large crowd of blacks on the other, white section was full, so this tall and very pretty lady (my mom) had us sit with the blacks.....the blacks were mostly in their 20's-30's....just watching the black crowd when Sly and Stevie came on was the best part of the whole concert!.....we were so skinny blued and white, and were generously accepted by the hundreds of black faces that would look at us and smile..we felt very safe! We adored Sly and the Family Stone......this was a year before his song "if you want me to stay"....unmatched in funk and rythm, especially for the day (12-14 year olds pick up on that kinda stuff)...interracial band and the black young musicians in the band were handsome, exotic and utterly mesmerizing ...I'm not virtue signalling..the black presence in music in was 50% of the 60's/70's, if not more.......all the big bands loved them.......2 concerts in my life stand out, "California Jam 1972", and 6 years later "Jesus Northwest", in Salem Oregon.....and yes Naomi, I am crying and praying for Sly because of both concerts!
I attended a Sly and the Family Stone concert when they were major stars, around 1970. Yeah, they were late coming onstage, around 45 minutes late. But they put on a great show. Apart from being a top notch musician, Sly in the late ‘60s was part of a small movement that tried to bring black and white America together. Almost unheard of in those days, his “soul” band was integrated. And much to the annoyance of the Black Panthers, who like Sly were originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, the theme of many of his songs was racial harmony as what we all need to work toward to make America a happier place. Later events caused Sly and fellow hopefuls to give up, but he deserves credit for trying. Like so many black artists, and musicians in general, Sly was ripped off by his so-called managers. And like most of my boomer generation, music lovers especially, he was into drugs. Just as with Elvis, Jimmi, Janis and the rest, hard drugs destroyed his career. But to me Sly is more victim than villain. Unlike now, when opiate addiction is rampant and meth has destroyed countless lives, back in the ‘60s recreational drug use was a social thing, a generational thing that like the music itself was part of the lifestyle of the time. Sly went beyond that and obviously paid the price. But still, for what he was and tried to do in his early years, he deserves respect and forgiveness in his old age.
Well said! He was trying to bring everybody together-black, white, man, woman - and wrote some fantastic songs celebrating our common humanity. Just wonderful stuff!
I got to know Sly back in the 60s and you said it perfectly he was a trail blazer and I’ve always felt as you expressed he will always have a special love and memory in my heart ❤️ god bless him I was honored to know he’s a living ledgen

...when you get an opportunity to interview a legend like Sly Stone....c'mon man you gonna ask these lame ass questions!?! Just let the man share. The right person could bring amazing stories from this incredible talent and sweet soul. Even without all the drugs, most couldn't touch his frequency in his hey day. Indeed he's lost too much. What a generation!!! Grateful to be there.
I recall being at Madison Square Garden in 1970's and I was with my Dad buying tickets to see the Knicks. While buying tickets in the lobby I could hear Sly and the Family Stone practice "If You Want Me To Stay." I instantly recognized that bass line as it shook the walls in the lobby. I was drawn in to that sound and it's power. I really don't think Sly ever really knew just how profoundly he touched people with the power of his music because there is no drug greater than what he gave the listener which is the magic and beauty of music. I love you, Sly. God bless you!
You are right, but we cannot forget the reality that drugs that were once considered purely casual and recreational . . . we now know have the ability to physiologically alter the pleasure centers in the brain that can hook you into a lifetime of addiction struggles. Sly has at least survived a lifetime of these struggles (he's in his mid-70's now, many others die young (especially in the music business that overflowed with recreational drugs). I feel fortunate my experimentation in college did not result in a life of addiction. Scarily, it could happen to anyone. Do you know how many white collar types have lost their lives to cocaine, pain killers, meth, and opiates in recent years? It's STAGGERING.
SLY STONE, Musical icon. Truly gifted and extremely Talented. He created his own Sound, alone with some members of his group and INCREDIBLE ENTAINTERS!! Sly & the Family Stone 60's early through med Seventies. It's unfortunate that so many music Artist, especially during those early days were taken advantage of by their management and others. He ROCKED the house down at woodstuck 69.I m talking MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN ROYALTIES and record sales. In spite of his drug addiction, he still one of the best.

Ahead of his time? The man is his time "that's what legends are" I don't mean this to be rude but, you must be a young'n wishing you lived in his exceptionally, legendary, best time of all DETROIT'S singers and song writers of soul. Today's music can't touch theses people's hey days! Example...you will never today see a farmer loaning out his land for a rock and roll, soul, R&B concert that is spoken of till this day "Woodstock" where kids that attended came from all across the US. Older folks who lived in the little town said all the kids were well behaved and respectful. "Something that most today's kids do not have" They loved and lived in ☮️ and harmony! "Just saying"
Mr. Sylvester "Sly" Stewart, I understand that you may not see this post. But all I can say is THANK YOU. As a teenager I used to study your recordings by playing the stereo right side separate from the left side, then play both sides together and I eventually figured out how you constructed your music. Even though you never met me, you were my songwriting teacher way before the internet had youtube. After doing the Sister Sledge " We are Family Tour" I release a few singles as Doug Payne & Polygon. Then started teaching instrumental music in the Philadelphia school District. And now I'm returning to the recording industry with new songs on the Phase 5 Record label, using everything that I learned from your style of songwriting. We are suppose to share our music with the world.
Sly & the Family Stone were responsible for 2 of the best nights of my concert life: their gig at the Electric Circus in NYC in 1967. Glad to see he's still with us; hope his situation improves. Much Love & Peace to him and the entire Fam.
No offense, but why in the hell would you waste this genius' time with a story about Suge Night ? Who gives a flying fuck about some gangster / "rap mogul" ?? Certainly not me, and i'm sure not any of Sly's fans..
A good interviewer can sense that. It's fascinating that you not only took every minute graciously given to you, you grabbed more and more, and even when the guy said 2 more minutes you just had to take 3.
Agreed Rhythmista,,,surely this interviewer could come up with more music related questions for Sly ,who gives a rats ass about Suge Knight or football ,,,thats all over the place,,,people want to hear particular questions about Sly and his music ,,,,and of course we all hope Sly can get back in the studio and start working again
It breaks my heart his later years weren’t better. He was so beautiful, so talented. His music is the seventies. Didn’t seem he had any hate in his heart with his message of peace.
Sly.....genius in musical art and lyrics. He is looked after by the community where his RV is parked. He's a humble and happy man who didn't oversee his earnings and management absconded with a lot. I hate it when people invoke karma because karma dictates that Sly Stone deserved to get screwed by his managers because of the bad things that he did in his previous life. Karma isn't revenge of the righteous.
No such thing as karma, either there is a God in heaven who made everything and you make the choice to receive Him as savior or the other choice is damnation and what ever this short hard life with all theses drugs and abuses will destroy you and separate you fromGods love, heaven or hell? It’s mans choice😇👹
Love you Sly Stone and thanks for teaching me how to funk!!!! Also loved your integrated band and is the way it should be, you were way ahead of our time. RIP Cynthia.
Sly was so influential in the 70s, his style was individual and dynamic and still sounds fresh today. It's sad to see him this way but also great that he is still alive and kicking.
Sly Stone is one of the best musicians in history. His arraingements are untouchable. It's lovely to hear him talk about happy times! But they need to get a human to interview him...
*Sly Stone was and still is THE BEST! His music straight from the heart, everything he did was pure 'Sly'......wish for him a good and calm retirement so he can relax and enjoy his family!* *Thank You, Sly....for ALL the music! You are THE real-deal!* *~Peace~*
Not just a jerk . . . but a dumb, East Coast racist, opportunist, smarmy jerk, who took advantage of a kind old man, a musical legend of musical legends, and squandered the "once in a lifetime" opportunity to interview him with thoughtful questions. He didn't ask a SINGLE THING that I gave a shit about. I'm a white man and I was deeply offended . . . and it was VERY clear to me, that the interviewers goal, his intention, was to get a "youtube scoop on Sly" about drugs and money, with ZERO interest in his humanity and his important historical musical legacy. Shame on you, asshole! How did YOU spend YOUR measly paycheck, shit head?
Drugs start out as a choice but winds up becoming a disease. No secret Sly hasn't been well for a long time, but to low key clown him is disrespectful.
I can't begin to tell the great memories I have of being a teenager and dancing to Sly and The Family Stone with friends on the weekends. They were great times. Thank you Sly for all the great memories. Luv ya?
He's still standing above ground, many of his fellow people are way dead. He has to be tough, was so talented too. Just like his family, they were good and a breath of fresh air back so long ago. Woodstock too.
This man was not only a mega talent, he was also highly-principled. I was just starting high school when he was on top of the charts and saw him in concert in the early 70s. It's a shame more people don't know about him.
yes but at least he is for the time being still around, soo many the drugs did in at a very early age, he is a true ledgend of funk and pop music of the last 50 years, voice might be gone, but he still has the knowlege to share and create.
he looked great, clear-eyed, and adorable. He has always been a nonlinear thinker---look at some of his interviews from the late 60s and early 70s. He has his own points of reference, and his own speed, and can't be reduced to answering glib soundbtyes. He still probably is brilliant.
I love Mr. Stone. Such a revolutionary, a genius, and an inspiration. So much talent and such a genuine, loving man. Too bad there are so few like him today. His music will live forever.
I cant believe Sly made 73 ,,,Im so happy hes looking good and is still LUCID after all hes been thru,,,,think of the life hes had,,,,,,God Bless you Sly and please continue to take care of yourself,,,we are FOR YOU,,,,remember his tune "Stand" it says it all ,,,"STAND Y'ALL !!!!!"
I loved Sly and the Family Stone. I bought several of their albums when I was a teenager. We used to rock at a night club outside Buffalo called Keystone 90's in Rockport NY and everyone went nuts when the local band played I wanna take you higher. Drugs have aged Sly prematurely like many others. Sly was a musical genius like John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas. God Bless you Sly! Thank you for the wonderful songs.
This was nice to see despite the bad interview questions. I looked at some of his old interviews and he has such a sincere loving look in his eyes, that hasn't changed, a true musical genius for sure. If you're not moved by his music, then you're not made of flesh and blood.
You could ask him: 1. What were some of his favorite performances? 2. Does he ever watch any of his old performances (concerts/interviews) on RUclips? 3. If so, is he humbled by all the love his fans show for him roughly 40 years after he made it big? 4. Does he plan to perform with any of his children again in the future? 5. Does he have any thoughts or reminiscences about the late, great, Cynthia Robinson? 6. Does he have any particular songs that were his favorites out if all those he wrote? 7. What musicians had the greatest influence on him? That is enough for an entire interview. Thanks for posting your interviews with him.
I just got through watching his 1983 appearance on David Letterman's show. I love how his energy has not really changed, just matured! I hope he is doing well. Give this man his flowers while he's still with us!
I agree,Iwont comment no more , Happy for you,I got my on nickname from me to you,TIMAX,Took a lickin, and kept on Tickin, very inspiring for. the world especially for these young buck who don't have patience for grown-up Wisdom to keep it Simple and learn how to be Humble and live as long as us in peace.
Your fans love you too Sly, always! Love this man, his personality, he is a character of the best kind. It makes me smile to see him still smiling like this. He’s a good person and that’s obvious, loves his kids and that’s beautiful. Always wishing him the best in life.
Sly I saw you and the “Family” when I was about 20 in Ottawa Canada just before you did Woodstock and you rocked my world. Your music still rocks my world and your concert is still one of my favourites to this day. ❤❤
What a band, stellar song writing, lyrics with meaning, the real deal. The influence of Sly's music is heard still now. . This made me sad in 2015, and still does in 2019.
Everyone is saying look how bad drugs have done him. THE MAN IS 71 YEARS OLD! I KNOW 71 YEAR OLDS THAT SHIT THEIR PANTS AND FORGET WHO THEY ARE! Give this man a break!
I get your point but 71 is not that old for him to be in this state. Lets not be in denial about the fact that how we lived in our youth will tell on us later. Case and point, Farrakhan and Shirley Caesar who lived cleaner lives in their youth, are both in their eighties and they are as sharp as a whip and this man looks like he could be their barely standing elder.
Jed Shook but your original comment made his condition relative to his age and the truth is that it is not. He is in that state due to decades of heavy drug abuse and probably sexual abuse (sleeping around for years and years with multiple women) and now it's caught up with him. People need to not associate situations like this to age. Put it where it belongs, which is lifestyle choices for prolonged periods. That way, the youth and people approaching those years will understand the possible consequences of their actions today will show tomorrow .
"i meant was father time catches us relevant2age" Everyone ages differently but generally speaking, 71 year old black people who didn't abuse their bodies and take care of themselves don't end up looking like this man looks. I don't have to use any public figures to know this to be true because I have friends and family members in their seventies and older who are aging yes, but not like this. Father time does catch up with everybody sooner or later but lets not pretend that how we take care of ourselves or not, will play in how we end up when he does catch us.
Boobie Love, I didn't reapond to you, you're talkin at Vern Tex, Who I agree with, BTW. I guess I should be more clear on what's going on in my mind when I wrote that. In a 10 to 15 year period that man got more ass, made more money, did more drugs and hung out with more stars than all on this forum combined! So if he doesn't have a high quality of life at 71 it's because he traded it for a super, uber mega high quality of life in his prime. I would do the same. Damn right.
This very seriously puts tears in my eyes and breaks my heart seeing what drugs do. i don't hate humans i hate the demons and the devil in what bad drugs do to ruin, destroy and take lives of too many humans just like i hate what cancers do to humans.
If you or your friends are reading this Sly i just want to let you know that you are still very loved, respected and appreciated by this fan of your's for over the last 47 years since the late 1960's. i'm also praying for you too Sly!
Sly Stone has always been and will always be one of my favorite entertainers and more importantly one of my favorite human beings since I was a boy. He is a colorblind lover of people, all people. He has had problems in life but always kept his infectious smile still to this day. GOD BLESS YOU SLY. I sincerely wish you all the best! Peace to you my brother.
This man is a genius and the best 'funk' artist and one of the best artists in American history. "Everyday People", "Thank You", "Running Away"? "If You Want Me To Stay"? Etc. These aren't just groovy, "I-have-sex-and-do-drugs" type songs. The lyrics are moving, heartfelt, heart breaking, and represent true artistic creation. God bless you Sly Stone. You've added value to humanity. No matter what else you have done those songs have helped me personally get through some hard times. Thanks!
Keep going don't stop there wonder what Sly Stone , MichaelJackson, George Clinton , Prince , Rick James be like if there was no James Brown ? I wonder what James Brown would be like if the musical influences that inspired him were not around when he was young ? It's interesting that you mentioned Prince. Because Larry Graham is Sly's cousin and was in Sly's band Sly and the Family Stone. Larry Graham and Prince were close friends.
+Hilarita9 Than there would've been other great musicians there to learn from. I doubt much would change, things would probably be a little different though.
CRMunir1 Yes, there would have been a Prince. Greatness must be revealed. However, Prince maybe would shined a little different without Sly's part of the influence.
Annoying interviewer. Disrespectful and lacking graciousness. Won't let Sly finish a thought. Sticking his nose into Sly's personal business as if it's the interviewer's right to know. And WTF are you asking him about Suge Knight for? Just because they're both black? Sly and Suge are worlds apart. You might as well have asked him about the latest Dolly Parton news or something. Interviewer comes off like the music business itself: using a living legend for your own selfish purposes while pretending to be a friend and supporter. Then once you've got what you want from him you'll probably toss him overboard just like the music business does to artists. Sheesh...
It wasn't a comment on her talent. Of course she's very talented. I was commenting on the fact that Sly probably doesn't follow Suge Knight's career any more than he follows Dolly Parton's because their respective genres aren't close to his. Really sad of you to resort to name-calling over something that most people would have understood.
A bit patronizing, like talking to a still not rehabilitated idiot you still need to get a story from. It's almost like he thinks Sly can't finish his own sentences. Young people, pay attention, this is how NOT to interview. there are WORSE styles than this, and he perhaps MEANS well, but let the man talk, that is respect. Edit later if you'd need to.
interviewer was super annoying. Very abusive of the man's hospitaity and courtesy. Could have been objective and kinder to a man who's a legend and obviously has gone thru hell in his life. Kindness I think was missing.

To him much is credited where credit is due!
@@KurtSlotkowski-hj8jd Wait a minute mr. Motown you didn't say Bootsy when you spoke you said Clinton namely Clinton that's what you said but whatever the timeline Bootsy was right there 18 years old playing bass for James Brown. Berry Gordy was a fucking bloodhound ripping off artists and you know it. Sly perfected the sound and influenced the world but it all goes back to Grits and Soul Smash Records.
This interview broke my heart. One of the finest musicians ever!
this guy has no business interviewing Sly.
I agree
"All things work to the good..."
But you right. If it was his business, he'd be broke and out if business. He's definitely got no business interviewing Sly, but I'm glad he did. Glad Sly was here to be interviewed, and glad we were here to view it.
It's all good. :)
Why
Exactly 💯
Stewart!
I know - me too - But ya have to "get it" - to understand WHO THE MAN IS! - I still adore him and his/they're music:-)
It was/is so hip Funk'

Horrible interview. Why don't you ask relevant questions? This man is a LEGEND!!!
I'm literally crying watching this. The music industry played such a huge role in ruining this man's life... this interview should have been treated with much more decorum. God bless Sly.
Agreed!!!
You're fukin crying?? GROW TF UPPP!!
REALLY DISPROPOTIONALITY THE VAST MAJORITY OF FOLK ARE YOU THE STaggardment
Well said! "AMEN"
45 minutes isnt that bad
Well said! He was trying to bring everybody together-black, white, man, woman - and wrote some fantastic songs celebrating our common humanity. Just wonderful stuff!
I got to know Sly back in the 60s and you said it perfectly he was a trail blazer and I’ve always felt as you expressed he will always have a special love and memory in my heart ❤️ god bless him I was honored to know he’s a living ledgen
muy cierto!
To bad this interviewer would not let Sly finish his sentences and thoughts.
Warren Lightning
Interviewer thinks he is the story.
Exactly. No respect whatsoever.
Dick Cavett did the same thing - Sly weighs his thoughts and less thoughful people cannot wait for replies. . .
He's more interested in the money part. Very devious.
@@HS22181 Worst, corniest, most disrespectful interviewer ever. "Lemme ask you a question...". Seriously? Before EVERY question? He's that annoying fan you try to avoid after the show

...when you get an opportunity to interview a legend like Sly Stone....c'mon man you gonna ask these lame ass questions!?! Just let the man share. The right person could bring amazing stories from this incredible talent and sweet soul. Even without all the drugs, most couldn't touch his frequency in his hey day. Indeed he's lost too much. What a generation!!! Grateful to be there.
Amen
Thank you Kim, see my comment above. Those guys were schmucks with no personality and Sly was so gracious to suffer the fools. Peace
Exactly💯
Miss you Sly.
Ridiculous questions kid has no clue what he’s standing in front of
One word....Wow! Sly deserves so much more. He's in my prayers.
Mine, also.
I love Sly and yes, the whole band....beautiful/talented and joyous people!
Sly is a Bad Ass Pirate, who still has it going on!!! It's clear he has not lost his charm, talent, smile and POWER!!! Peace with two fingers back at cha, Magic Man, Sly Stone!!! #Victoryonthe1! BIG XO, Maddog
He's a living legend regardless of things that happened in his personal life. Genius is applied to a lot of musicians who aren't, but Sly truly is.
Amen
He really is, im only in my early 20's but he's kind of a genius no joke.
Yeah, but God don't like ugly and Sly has been ugly to people ever since he became famous.
I never heard anyone say he was ugly and treated them bad, never heard that. Now if you said he always was missing shows or he'd show up two or three hours late then yeah, I've heard that plenty.
The coolest cat in this sweet swingin sphere🧡
Musical genius!! So ahead of your time, thank you , thank you , thank you for all the great music you gave us Sly!!

Barry Oneal yes he was. We danced the night away at my prom mainly to his music.
@@cs4500 Nope grew up with SLy.
Sly is still sly,he knows how to get around this guy
He's not stupid
When you been around,..you know how to get around.
Still has that mischievous glint in his eyes !!
😍
Sly & the Family Stone were responsible for 2 of the best nights of my concert life: their gig at the Electric Circus in NYC in 1967. Glad to see he's still with us; hope his situation improves. Much Love & Peace to him and the entire Fam.
No offense, but why in the hell would you waste this genius' time with a story about
Suge Night ? Who gives a flying fuck about some gangster / "rap mogul" ?? Certainly not me, and i'm sure not any of Sly's fans..
Right and it seemed to me that after around five minutes he wanted to be left alone.
Amen to that.

To the comments, this man came up in the psychedelic era and you can't hate on how he looks when you see Jagger and the rest. Thank you fa lettin' him be hisself.

A talented musical genius ! You can tell drugs and age was taking a huge effect on his life. The awesome thing about Sly is that he was always welcoming, friendly and always had a big big smile to brighten your day. God Bless you Sly. ✌️😇
I wish I could have done that interview cuz none of those stupid questions we would have came out of my mouth, this guy is a legend. So happy to see him with that great big smile I hope he gets that big RV he wants

Sly Stone, one of the kindest person alive! a genuine soul of beauty, people that have tried to harm him will pay the price of " Karma"
Kreg Martin His ex-wife Kathy Silva said he was abusive and he tortured her. She divorced him after his dog mauled their son.
I hate it when people invoke karma because karma dictates that Sly Stone deserved to get screwed by his managers because of the bad things that he did in his previous life. Karma isn't revenge of the righteous.
@@luciverdad4834 tomato, tomahto

You are a beautiful soul
Sly was so influential in the 70s, his style was individual and dynamic and still sounds fresh today. It's sad to see him this way but also great that he is still alive and kicking.
Sly Stone is one of the best musicians in history. His arraingements are untouchable. It's lovely to hear him talk about happy times! But they need to get a human to interview him...
I know this interview is a couple years old but had to comment. This interviewer is not showing the respect Sly deserves. This is a legend.
Sly is my favorite performer since I was a child, I still look up what he's up to. I pray for him, also.
My favorite as well! A musical genius!
Thanks for telling us you "prayed for him" now I i can sleep easy
No negativity, prayer is good energy, though some think it misguided, we are all one.
Let him talk and answer the questions gotdamit
Chicago Capone I agree peace be still, look, listen, and learn from real wisdom.
*Sly Stone was and still is THE BEST! His music straight from the heart, everything he did was pure 'Sly'......wish for him a good and calm retirement so he can relax and enjoy his family!*
*Thank You, Sly....for ALL the music! You are THE real-deal!*

This is sly stone? Wow! This interviewer is a jerk, why ask what he’s gonna do with his money? 🙄🙄
Exactly! None of his business!

Sly Stone, he puts me in a good mood. One of the most down to earth ,beautiful persons ever. I cant say enough good things about him.
SLY Will Live Forever....Through The Music...
This really is sad what drugs can do to someone. That was one of the most brilliant minds in music history
+rocky52a I honestly thought he'd be in worse shape than that, he actually looks pretty good. He doesn't completely look like he's in his right mind.
yes but at least he is for the time being still around, soo many the drugs did in at a very early age, he is a true ledgend of funk and pop music of the last 50 years, voice might be gone, but he still has the knowlege to share and create.
He's also 73.
he looked great, clear-eyed, and adorable. He has always been a nonlinear thinker---look at some of his interviews from the late 60s and early 70s. He has his own points of reference, and his own speed, and can't be reduced to answering glib soundbtyes. He still probably is brilliant.
who can really know for sure, but ideas dont disapper overnight, many as you would say are a great mind trapped in their body and its limitations.

This interviewer and these Suge Knight/football questions...he should have gotten fired
He wanted to tie a connection to him , fulL of sh**T
You could ask him:

He recorded at the Platinum Factory where I worked back in the 80s in Brooklyn. He was a very polite and warm humble man.
Damn right.
Thanks for your service brother. I put my 20 in the Corps. 3 tours Iraq 2 tours Afghan!
This very seriously puts tears in my eyes and breaks my heart seeing what drugs do. i don't hate humans i hate the demons and the devil in what bad drugs do to ruin, destroy and take lives of too many humans just like i hate what cancers do to humans.

This man was a musical genius. I wonder what Prince would have been like if there were no Sly Stone.
Hilarita9 There would be no Prince..

Solid Terry I want to fuck him up for that no respect having ass⭐
absolutely spot on Solid Terry. The 'interviewer" obviously couldn't give a shit about Sly's well being.
And pull the damn camera back. Give the man some breathing room...
The smile of a man at peace with himself. I hope ya get your money sly. More joy to people than you will ever understand or comprehend. Peace.
sly is a legend and deserves to be treated as one.....those of us who lived throughout the 60s and 70s..had to privilege to listen to and appreciate real musicians ...and real music...god bless you sly from beirut lebanon....hope you found that dog...
Sly is a monumental treasure!
