Blender 2.8 How to make multi-span Bendy bone beams

I wanted to learn blender 2.8 so I could add more "cowbell" to my videos.
I'm just a beginner in blender but I wanted to remember this technique so I made a tutorial that I also think will help other blenderers. blenderists, or blenderians. Are any of these, a thing?

It would help if you did a quick video with 5 control points. I'm doing something wrong. I started off with the same bones you have then I tried adding more and it's not working. I'm going to just have to have to start over with the 5 control points. I just want to know what I'm doing wrong.

For blender 3.5 when I clear parent it won't let me disconnect bone. Should I clear parent or disconnect bone?

Hi I have a question.. if i were to follow this tutorial, would there be a way to make it the the limb doesn't stretch when moved? I'm trying to make a tripod from War of the worlds 2005 and i hope to be able to pose it or even try my hand at animating it e.g. the legs

Do you know what "clear parent" does and why it is needed, also "disconnect bone" wouldn't make more sense to keep everything connected?
