      The fact that BPegasus thinks these Kiss videos are crazy- is because he doesn’t know how to be wild & have fun. It was a blast being a teen girl in the 70s. We didn’t NOT want anyone to get cancelled or call them misogynist - because we were all in on the party! Kiss was the most fun of all!

    Main thing to remember about KISS and how this video is structured, they spent the first half of their career in anonymity because of the makeup and personas they put on. Paul Stanley "Starchild" - Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Gene Simmons "The Demon" - Bass, some lead vocals and Fire/Blood spitting on stage, Ace Frehley "The Spaceman" - Lead Guitar, Peter Chris "Catman" - Drums and Piano/vocals on the song "Beth". This video came out when they took the makeup off and showed their real faces... hence the "Kiss Exposed" video. ☮❤🎶

    Hi Black Pegasus! It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here. I can tell you, Kiss certainly are well known for putting on a show and giving their customers at least the worth of their ticket price.
    I work at concerts, so I obviously attend a lot of shows, but when Kiss came to town at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, I decided I was going to buy a ticket for this one, for a change. In fact, I got one for my brother as well, so we could both attend. I'm so glad I did. I wore my Kiss t-shirt, and we were even able to get pre-show drinks for free, as my daughter manages a club near the venue.
    As for the show, well, what can I say?... It was certainly one that will stay with me forever. I remember Gene Simmons said in an interview a while back that they've always believed people come to see a show, not just people singing on stage and they will always put on the best show they can. It's a feast for the eyes, as well as the ears, with platforms rising and falling, fire, explosions, confetti, and pretty much every stage effect you can imagine. Gene himself is also known for having fake blood coming from his mouth, and that was included, too. We really felt fully satisfied, and it was one of the best, if not The Best Concert we had ever seen. The support acts were great, too. They were The Wild Things and Skindred, and I am now a fan of both of those acts as well. It was a brilliant night to remember. Æ 🙏

    • @BuddyBoy68
      @BuddyBoy68 16 дней назад +1

      Like you said, Gene Simmons is more famous than the lead singer as his wild reputation precedes him. So much so that I almost forgot Paul Stanley had significant moves in the live show too, which he is well known for. There was a point in the show when he grabbed a rope of some kind and swung all the way across to his small B-stage towards the front of the hall to sing and play guitar.
      Gene Simmons, however, is a rock powerhouse and has done a lot of stuff on TV and movies too. He had a reality TV show in the UK called Rock School, where he taught school kids how to become rock stars. The were 2 series of that show. In the 1st series he was teaching classically trained kids from a posh school. The 2nd series was even more popular, as he was teaching troubled kids from a comprehensive school. I'm sure you'll be able to see this on RUclips. Æ 🙏

    RIP Eric Carr, my favorite KISS drummer, he was part of the group in the 80's and passed due to heart cancer in 1991 - he was the "Fox" character.

    Beth is my my favorite, I distinctly remember their first mtv video when they took the makeup off. It was awesome. I’ve seen them in concert with DefLeppard and they were awesome. Never been a kiss nation fan but that pretty much changed when I saw them live. FYI they were in makeup.

    KISS had also hit big with anthem: "God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You": cover of Christian Rock band: PETRA ("Rock" in Greek) song, & KISS's cover's in "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" movie!

      British band 'Argent' were OG's for "God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You" in '73, which Petra covered in '77 & video in '84, then KISS covered in '84 video & in '88 movie.

    TBH, Pegasus, Gene Simmons, and Paul Stanley switch back and forth between singing lead vocals.
    Also, on some of their earlier songs, back when drummer Peter Criss and guitarist were Ace Frehley, were still part of the band, they'd have songs where they'd sang lead vocals, such as "Hard Luck Woman" or "Shock Me"

    Kiss when they had a reality show after 9/11 started touring at state side bases/post but more VA Hospitals. They did a great rendition of all branches anthems and Born in USA together in two one song NOT mashed together. I had it saved to my On Demand with Cox. Moved cross country and had to turn it in. It really grand and the active military at bases and VA Hospitals the look on their faces so full with joy was a sight to behold.
    Simon was a self promoter after he got older.

    Kiss was my first real rock concert with my friends. (I saw Elvis and Sonny and Cher with my parents as a child.) Nothing compares with rocking out at a concert with your friends! Really wish I hadn't been so involved in the sex and drugs of the day. Would be nice to remember all the fabulous concerts I went to back then, lol. Thank God for sobriety!

    Fun fact - Gene Simmons was an elementary school teacher in NYC before founding Kiss in 1973.
    Something else you should know is that in the world of Rock music makeup - before Kiss there was Alice Cooper, check out No More Mr. and/or School's Out.

    Saw them in the late 79's( I think) at Anaheim Stadium, 1st concert I'd ever had purse searched ,and I'd been to many concerts already by then, they had the jumbotron flash signs " please be seated, do not jump" something like that, because the floor above us was actually moving! A cement structure!

    This is from their mockumentary KISS Exposed 1987. They made this VHS Tape mocking the Rock & Roll Lifestyle. What was good about it was that they showed old stage performances of the bands early years and videos up to that point. Now All 4 original guys could take over lead vocals but it was usually Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley. Peter Criss the drummer had their Biggest commercial hit with "Beth". Ace didn't start singing lead until later as he had no confidence in his ability but his KISS Solo album is the best of the 4 with Paul's coming in a close 2nd.

  • @johnlongenecker7779
    @johnlongenecker7779 14 дней назад

    Gene Simmons (bass) and Paul Stanley (guitar) normally shared lead vocals. Peter Cross (drums) did vocals for Beth. Ace Frehley (lead guitar) did a song or two.

  • @stevehamilton8824

    There are two main singers - Paul Stanley is actually the main but Gene Simmons sings a lot of songs as well. Ace had a few and drummer, Peter Chris had their biggest hit as lead singer with the song "Beth".
