I just got a Traxxas Drag Slash a couple of days ago but I haven't had it out yet. Looked like you were have a great time with yours and that's what it's all about. Fun video to watch :)
Wow,that's CRAZY!! I just got my Drag Slash today..looking to do some upgrades before I start..Ordered sensors, telemetry, thanks for the Ceramic Bearing...
Local guy regularly hits 2.3-2.4 with a VXL setup on 2S with reaction belted tires. He is actually one spot ahead of me on the top 10 list and is very consistent. 132ft no prep 2 things; *I definitely recommend bringing a piece of carpet with you so you can heat up the tires more. The carpet is so you can warm them without wearing them out. You want those tires up over 125°f at least. Guys with tire warmers are heating them up near 170° *Larger pinion, Those VXL motors have a ton of torque (Great progress Richie!!)
Get some proline reaction it’s the horrible traxxas tires that are killing you. I have seen 2.80s with just a change of the tires and speed gear, a little more suspension tuning and 35t pinion 2.50s are possible, plus you have better bearing so that will help a little bit more.
I am going to try adjusting the wheelie bar as it's in it's lowest position now so not much weight shifting back on launch. I've only just got it so will work on it over the coming weeks, all advice much appreciated!
The 'gyro' in the motor wants to twist the cars chassis.. same as real drag cars. you may need to stagger the rear springs AND set preload. like an 025 on one side and an 030 on the other.
I've watched a bunch of ur videos. And I have to say that I enjoy them. But I have to ask. who in the hell is Ritchie? I know ur not speaking in 3rd person and referring to ur self. Because that's about the point where u start to question ones sanity. JS. But cool video! Keep them coming 👍
I’m running completely stock besides an upgraded carbon fiber wheelie bar on 3s 5500mah with an 80c burst and I’m running 2.7 seconds at 132ft. The competition that I’m going in has the following rules: -no changing the chassis -only stock motor and esc -3s or lower lipo Anyone have any tips on getting an edge on everyone else?
You should be able to run a lot better than 2.7 on 3s, me and my brother custom built drag slash both run 2.7s on 2s stock LCG chassis. It's all in the gearing and suspension.
yh but my electric kyosho neo 3.0 on 2s can do 45mph in about 2.467secs and its like half the price of the slash and bigger lol prob stronger aswell but im not 1 bit a traxxas fan
Take the front shocks off they are two difrents sizes . Get new one and your truck will go straight every time it’s bull shit that they do that because we pay 500$ for it and the screw you im call traxxas tomorrow I got mine today and found that out I looked at my buddy’s his is the same way
You want to race for pinks? I will buy a DR10 if your down and we can use the same batteries.... Put your money where your mouth is and actually race the things you build...
@@DriftomaniacsRC Last time we were up at the RC track your the one that looked like he needed to get out of the arm chair Richy, I will take that as a now you don't want to race lol.

@@DriftomaniacsRC Yes Sir my buddy owns one and My DR10 Performed better than his Stock Drag Slash. Like I said the Body is the main thing I would want from it, because the Body is absolutely Beautiful!?

Ceramic bearings is the first upgrade on all my cars you’ll accelerate faster run faster and last longer! That last bit came out all wrong!!!!!
@@DriftomaniacsRC i wanna be faster and last longer
I run a 31t pinion and a 83 spur..on old trans...it should be able to take more.great stuff..👍
Thinking I’m gonna take traxxas up on their sale. $499 for 2 drag slash with the traxxas race light.. 250 for a drag slash is a great price imo!
I did it, and glad I did. So much more fun than I anticipated!
After a month or so You’ll be happier with an associated dr10.
If the car is pulling to one side and is difficult to drive straight wouldn't it be easier to adjust the steering trim and dual rate?
Nothing to do at all, when it pops a wheelie. That means you need to loose your clutch a little.
When it's on the back tires the steering doesn't matter much. Adjusting rear shocks does more to get a straight launch
Awesome! Did you have any overheating issues running 3s with the optional gearing? That top speed is sick! Thank you for sharing
I have one myself and on 3s she gets hot quick I have to say even with the 29 tooth pinion
@@adamdavis472 that pinion is for 2s only on race day
Mine definitely gets hot after a couple passes on 3s
The first mod needs to be the driver !

2.4's on stock esc and motor?
@@OldGreyBeard45 Yes it happened again yesterday too. On a porta tree light and timing system
@@blindj that is sweet, wonder what his gearing is.
@@OldGreyBeard45 I know it but it's not my information to share. It will be up on RUclips pretty soon on the RC fun. YT channel. 2.4 at 55 mph

Get the sticky lead weights for the front, it helps alot
And if you changing spur gear for a 70t you're going to need another one of them meshing plates ? Different size
What C rating was on the 3s battery you used in the videos?
Great run Richie!!! Fun to watch!!!
What is the best first drift car in ur opinion I would like a rwd
What app do you use to see what your time and mph you went? Thanks
Locked rear diff is the best for drag
Those Bearing are great. But the Ceramic Bearing their the best over all.
What battery power are you using in this video?
Can't you drive east (away from the sun)... lol. Always enjoy your videos Rich!
I should have been more patient...
How fast it goes is it worth it getting it
May I ask what app and telemetry tool your using?
You need a long straight road, not easy too find 👊🏻👍🏻
Great video but why run into the sun and not the other way, just wondering
UK best drag times on 2s only are 2.4secs with a Dr10
By HardcoreRC I believe.maybe quicker now

I smoked 22 no prep cars with rear foams on 2s
Killer video bro

Noted but note the gyro is in receiver…not the motor. Love your input but add value like the spring advice which was good but not the gyro BS
In puerto Rico i roun 2.09 at 55mph in a lcg traxxas slash chassie with a 5.5t motor
Next time lets make the comparisons at different distances and with only a few of the new bearings and see how it compares to stock.
This is America...MPH! Not MAH!! 😆 love the video tho!
This location looks like one of the parking lots at CSM.
That would be right!
do you think no prep events would disable the use of the trans brake button on remove if you run this drag slash
probably not
I guess I was assuming it was evening too haha. It might be morning..
Great vid but you need a new spot them light poles are magnets. :)
My Slash did 58mph out of the box with a 6200mah battery on 3s
Lite pole crash is 6 out of 10
This truck should do 50 mph every time
So if I lower the gearing it still do 60? Note to everyone Richie needs to have done basic math not a degree in advanced electronics…
