    Before you start defending your perfect example of the MM200 please remember that Seiko's QC inconsistencies are widespread. I'm sure there are perfect examples out there, this just isn't one of them. I didn't even mention the tab at the tip of the hours hand which should have been ground down. I can forgive a turtle that's slightly misaligned but when you pay north of $1,000 you should expect and get better execution.

      This is why we have Orient watches and the Kamasu dive watches better Japanese watches for 1/3 the price.

      @@robc8468 The Kamasu is such a great watch, man! Just wore mine today. Still, I am seriously thinking about buying this Seiko...

    I have this watch. I don't have those QC issues, but I agree with you. Beautiful watch with out the QC issues.

    In 2018, I spent $300 or thereabouts on a popular Seiko SARB035. Hands and chapter ring misaligned. Debris on dial and handset. Returned. In 2020, I purchased a Seiko SBDC101, the JDM variant of the popular SPB143, for $1,200. Bezel pip / pearl misaligned. Bezel insert and handset misaligned. Debris under crystal. Scratch on clasp (NIB). The movement, a 6R35, was out of spec, losing about 50 seconds daily. Crown was wobbly and gritty. Plastic movement holder. "CASE CHINA" hidden on the inside of the caseback, a "Made in Japan" JDM watch (LOL). This was the case on the SARB035, too - a supposed "Made in Japan" JDM only watch.
    With the exception of the pip, which you cannot fix, I fix all the problems myself and parted with it. I have one flawless Seiko quartz DayDate, and it's a homage. I'll keep that watch, because it's discontinued and beautiful; but I will never purchase another Seiko at any price. Getting a Tudor soon. To hell with Seiko.

    I'm happy with my Seiko Samurai this watch looks nice but has a few setbacks the bigger being over priced by at least two hundred dollars! Good review

    Thanks for your overview of the Seiko Prospex MarineMaster Reduced 140th Anniversary Model. I have the Seiko Prospex Solar Chronograph Divers 140th Anniversary Limited Edition which has a similar green dial colour. I also have a Seiko SPB083J / SBDC065 Baby Marine Master / Marine Master 200. Both of these have no obvious QC issues. I have and SKX007J which is also spot on in terms of alignment. I have a Seiko 5 Automatic GMT SSK001K that has a minor bezel alignment problem. I think the only way to resolve Seiko's QC issues is to stop buying Seikos. As long as there are 1000s of people like you and me that keep buying Seikos there is no incentive for Seiko to improve QC.

      That is a FACT. I think for me this is the last $400+ Seiko I will purchase. It's easier to get past QC issues with a more affordable watch. It's just sad. I love so many of their designs including this one.

      I just hope Seiko don't use their influence to ruin Orient watches.

    It’s very disappointing that Seiko continues to have QC issues especially at $1,300.
    I have one of the 6105-8000 reimaginings, and thankfully, it has no QC issues, but it has some accuracy issues.
    Typical Seiko.

      yes get a polycarbonate watch that after a few month in the sun starts oozing out oil im wearing my 5610tu right now but theres just no comparison

    • @DeepsGnome
      @DeepsGnome 4 месяца назад

      I've had watch makers tell me that because gshocks are made of plastic, after a year or 2 of wear, and being in direct sun, the plastic starts to slightly stretch and warp and the water proofing starts to fail. They own a water pressure tank and test them all the time. They usually fail if more than a couple years old. That's why you never see an iso rated gshock

      @@unknown81360 Yes but with limited edition more upmarket pieces it's hard. Your trying to grow a friendship so you win some buys and they win some. Like all relationships there is some give and take.

    Any Seiko without 'Made in Japan' on it is worth less than 300 dollars.
