    I hat off to your work. The video is really nicely filmed and edited. The content is extremely informative. I love your macro lens part so much since it helps to appreciate the quality and the finish of those watches. Comparing and reviewing 2 or more watches is really interesting and engaging.
    Keep up the great work, im your big fans right now.
    You said there is a similar watch to the sla047 but with a green benzel, so what is that model ? Im curious. Thank you

      Hi Tuan, thank for the kind compliments. It certainly goes a long way that you enjoy my macro shots and comparisons, as I am hoping to stick to this formula for a long time. The model is the SLA019

    Seiko killed it with that green. I think the MM200 wins in my book with the details: Stop light seconds hand, minute track printed on the dial, and an overall less cramped looking dial. Factor in the more universally wearable case of the 200 and I think that would be my choice, regardless of price.

      The MM200 also doesnt have that cut out chapter ring for that bizarre index at the date. You're right and it would be my choice too. Many actually mod the SLA to have the stoplight hand

    • @Captain_Rimmer
      @Captain_Rimmer 3 года назад +2

      Completely agree. mm200 is very versatile and would look great with a bespoke leather strap. The 6R35 movement is also very robust.

      @Polter6eist Год назад

      I went to try them both and I was ready to spend the extra money for the mm300 but I found the other one much more comfortable on my wrist. And the mm300 was way to close to LX spring drive in terms of price, which, in my opinion, is the pinnacle of Seiko execution and movement

    I know this video is a year old but thanks for the great and helpful review. Personally, I love Seiko's green dials but I'm not a fan of the green bezels, so this reissue is right down my alley. Thanks again!

    They nailed a gorgeous emerald green. At the end of the day, we love watches because of the aesthetics, I love how brands are adding a bit of color to their classic designs. The mm300 in black dial did nothing for me, but this emerald green sunray has me lusting for it! Great job seiko!

    • @perpetuality

      It’s a very subtle green on the MM300! Almost black sometimes and I think that’s down to the thicker sapphire crystal. Get in the light however- and it starts to peacock 🦚

    The ratcheting clasp from the Seiko MM300 can be purchased new in eBay for around $65. I have this bracelet on my sbdc063 MM200 and it is a very easy item to install in the mm200 bracelet. It greatly enhances the fit of the “baby marine master”. And no it is not “too fat”.

I did get the Retro 63mas /SPB143j because of what it represents, I will also eventually get the MM200 as it is superb as a real utility watch and speaks SEIKO with one glance. Great video. No question that Seiko got the design of these two reversed. The 200 is the more elegant execution. The '5' on the bezel is better. On the 300 the '5's tail is so close it looks like a messed up 6 at a glance. And they still haven't refined that big wad of a pointer on the top of the bezel. The 300 is a bit cartoonish. Seiko has, however, really got their green colour down. Love it. I wish the 200 had the 300 bezel feel and robust spec.

    I may have missed it, but is the bezel insert on the MM300 a very dark green or black on the model shown in the video (it's bit hard to tell watching the clip as Seiko does employ some pretty dark greens now and again)? I have the SLA019 (Deep Forest Green dial, green bezel LE MM300) and likely going to grab some more 300's over the next couple of years. They are fantastic watches. I have the Ginza 200MM (SBDC079 300 pieces LE Green Dial, Black Bezel) that looks rather close to the 200 but does not have the same flat top coin edge bezel based on what I can see in the vid. The hands are different as well. Case and Bracelet look the same however. Regardless....these are great looking watches and I'm likely to add them to the "must have" list based on what I see here. Thank-you for a great high quality vid and review!

      Hey Mitch, the bezel insert is a deep black. Whether the difference is enough to distinguish the sla019 is another story. I think the newer MM300 has a deeper green dial than the SLA019. The Ginza is beautiful! Thanks for watching!

    Has this got the same horrible bracelet as the sumo? Changed mine to a jubilee

      It seems far more solid than the sumo bracelet IMO

    No point getting any SLA when the cheaper versions are pretty much the same. The movement in the SLA is just as bad as the cheaper models.

    MM300: 2 piece links and no zaratsu polish on the case

      Seiko does not outright mention it but did for the SLA021 and the SLA023 which did have zaratsu on the underbelly of the case. The SLA047 essentially has the same case. Why they don’t mention it is bizarre for Seiko

    You can buy Shitko from £100 to £3000+ and you wouldn't know the difference once on the wrist (too many models look similar and too many special editions)
    You might have a £3000 Shitko on your wrist, and it looks like a £300 models.
    Omega, Rolex etc have models, one will/ can recognise it miles away and you'll know the true value of it.

    Nice but 6,000 pieces or 3,000 is really funny 😆. I have the SLA019 green on green, limited to 1968. This is the real anniversary IMO, I am so happy for it.
