Really Impressed with this new version of the SLC, I think they hit the nail on the head when designing the bike, very skinny seat stays for comfort and also keeping the round 27.2 seatpost. But then introducing the new modern side of bikes internal cables and also a little more aero headtube and fork.
basically a new Aethos with integrated front end. I like
The old SLC2.0 also had integrated cables. I had one for just over two years. The difference is that the new one comes with the FSA ACR headset instead of the Deda DCR headset. The old one had breakaway spacers and everything too, the ACR headset is better because the steerer is round instead of D shaped and the top cap is a standard one instead of the DCR which has an offset screw hole in the top cap.
@@natheirabu-dahab1446what was your experience?
@@ED-gb8md I loved my SLC2.0, I ran it for two years and did ~17000km on it in any environment you can think of. Cobbles, pancake-flat type of rides, multiple mountain passes, heavy rain, you name it.
I also swapped wheels and groupos on it a lot. Initially I ran it with SRAM Force AXS and Zipp 454 NSWs, I swapped to Ultegra Di2 with a classified hub and DT Swiss 1400 50mm wheels and finally swapped the wheels to ENVE SES 3.4s. I’ll say I think the bike handled a lot better with the Zipps and Enves than the DTs, might be the wide internal width. I also ran the zipps the longest so I was most familiar with how the bike handled with them on.
I wish the tire clearance was a bit wider, which this new version solves. My bike could barely fit 30mm GP5k tires on ENVE SES 3.4s. The frames life ended when I fell in a grate and completely destroyed the frame. Down tube and top tube cracked clean through. Entirely on me although I was slightly disappointed that Winspace don’t offer any sort of crash replacement discount or policy like most other brands. The one thing that surprised me is that the ride quality on my new bike (Tarmac SL7) is vaaaastly superior to the Winspace. Specifically it handles road vibrations a lot better even though I’m running slightly narrower tires on the SL7 (28s as opposed to 30s).
I really did love my SLC2.0, it was light (enough), I won and podiumed crits with it, and I loved the handling. That being said, now that I’ve ridden a bigger name brand bike, I’d say unless the ride quality has improved significantly from the SLC2.0, one would be better off looking for a used name brand frame like a Tarmac SL7 than going for the SLC3.0.
Why deep dish wheels on a climbing bike sir?
Dayum winspace so good looking all the bops are melting in the comments! Thank you for the inspiration too Grant 😂😂😂
At that price why not go for a Giant TCR Advanced for just a little bit more money?
Because the Winspace is better than the Adv, and cheaper than the Adv SL.
@@Grunge_Cycling but the new tcr adv pro is almost the same weight/price and you get carbon spoke cadex 40 wheels with local bike shop warranty
Wait till Black Friday or Xmas sales. Always sales
Because winspace advertises through such channels by giving kickbacks to the influencers.
@@Taihaki Winspace looks better and not hookless like Cadex. Giant does offer amazing value, by far the best for a big brand in North America.
Gc. I need more of your content!!!
I am here lol!!
@@GCPerformance18 where is the new video? I am waking up (as european) and no New video. Bad start in the day..
Hi GC performance
Great video as always 👍 good looking bike with a great weight with great spec . Big fan of winspace wheels 👍👍🚴♂️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
hell yea aaaaa
I figured you would have this video after seeing Patrick Lino video about this bike. 😂😂😂
Looks sick, those a deep wheels too ❤. My only wish is the seat tube to be a bit cut out like the tarmac and not how it is which is very aethos or supersix evo like.
It's a nice-looking bike 😊
I see a little leaning towards the cannondale supersix evo or a skinny giant propel advanced 🤔.
this bike is very nice, but the propel is also a nice option too
Now that’s a dam fine looking bike.
Hard to choose between the latest T1550 Gen 3, Agile, SLC 3.0. How would YOU (doesn't matter if you're the poster of this video or the reader of this comment: YOU) choose among the three? :)
For me light and climbing but i live in a hilly area and my easy ride is 700m gain 😔
@GCPerformance18, if you had to choose between Winspace Agile and SLC 3. Which would you choose and why. And if your climbing ratio was 1000ft in every 10 miles would your opinion change? Thanks.
Weighing them one by set ups is counterfeit gains man lol.
@GCPerformance18 Do they change the geometry on this 3.0 model?
If yes, what is Reach - Stack for 56 size.
Thanks for the video Grant!
P.S. Hope they will have a better color options for this frameset.
Yeah i missed a true 56 on the slc 2.0. L was too small while xl was almost a 58 😅 they size by the seattube(wtf) instead of the toptube 🤔
They don’t make a 56. The winspace sizing is weird af you’d probably be riding a 510 if I had to guess
Cant wait for the SUPER LIGHT CLIMBER 3.0 - SUPER LIGHT. lol
lmao
The weight may be similar to the sl8, but how is the ride feel compared to the sl8?
it is very ocmfortbale due to the round seatpost and skinny seat stays
@@GCPerformance18 you seriously are the man for always answering my questions, Thanks dude.
Dave Arthur managed 6,5kg with 2x and ultegra. That's without pedals and with the 33mm wheels 😅
yea I seen that, that is crazy, I do not know how maybe he got a lighter frame, but I know for suresome of my parts are lighter
@@GCPerformance18 Lighter wheelset.
I'm wondering, with the non-traversing through axles, how do you use this bike on a trainer?
You can only use it on a direct mount trainer
@@GCPerformance18 I'm not sure I understand, but I'm guessing that means recent direct-drive trainer can take a through axle directly. I have an first-gen Tacx Neo, and the way it works with through-axle bikes is with an adapter than then takes a traditional quick release. A through-axle can't get through the trainer. So I guess I would have to buy a new trainer.
Are the Hope Brake calipers lighter than the Shimano?
Not really, but may hit spokes with smaller 140mm rotor
yes they are lighter when you remove the brake adapter and just by a little but they are stronger brakes too with 4 pistons
@GCperformance18 is Winspace telling reviewers this is a bike that stacks up against Tarmac SL 8? Or is this something that is organically being referred to? I ask because while this bike is now fully integrated and adopted drop seatstays, I fail to realize how this remotely compares a SL 8 besides maybe on weight. I am interested in seeing the full review when you and everyone are allowed to fully post
mainly for the frame weight and the skinny seat stays and the front being alittle more aero and claimed to do it all bike
How much do you think a complete bike would run with something like sram rival or 105 di2 and some middle of the road wheels?
Above 8kg
@@marcinstyle85 sorry, I was asking about price
@@thinch4972 ohh yeah sorry my bad it should be around 4500$
yea like 4000-5000 depending on price of group
Climber frame with deep dish wheels and 1x. The ultimate oxymoron build.
You forgot (it looks like) a 52 in the front and 11-30T in the back. The ultimate climber.
I'll still buy one to try it out but it kinda looks like a backwards SL8; thick rear and a light front.
@@MarcinCebula frame wise, it looks like those entry level SL6 with hidden cables
Cam Nichols did an interview with the guy working for Spesh almost a decade ago. The SL6 Sport came with round tubes instead of d-shaped.
Built from the parts bin. Lol
@@justinkase8716 haha I like one of those. It’s just this 1x and deep dish wheel should be on a video of GC promoting the new Agile or T1550 or something. Definitely not on this SLC 3.0. Shame
this is what my parts are used for, I am not going to waste my money on climbing shit, that would be dumb
Definitely 👍
Nice build! What kind of bar tape?
Prologo 3d
How many hours do you put into a complete build? Seems you are just introducing the frame then a day or so later you're showing us the complete bike.
Electric builds, if no issues, are very quick. In three hours you can be on your bike.
ill be honest with you, for these type of builds I have some of my guys work off the clock that I pay and build them at night for a normal build, if there are issues I correct them in the morning but really I have os many buidls during the day for paying customers I dont have a lot of time for my own builds lol
Practice makes perfect I would see all the parts laying around the room next to the frame and freeze up. Where to start?
I feel if you specced certain parts you could get this down to 15lbs even
yea same here, to be honest
Heavy AF !
lmao not to bad the wheels are the heavy part
Blasphemy. I would prefer the SL8 (wonder why lol).
Another great video.
This is probably my next bike
its super comfortable
@@GCPerformance18 could you comment on why the winspace d45 mega one piece wheels come in such a shallow depth? Why couldn’t they make it deep 60mm like the syncros capital sl aero?
What is the handlebar weight?
That's not particularly light for a lightweight non aero frame.
The wheels are 60mm front and 68mm rear. Pretty deep
A bit shocking it's so heavy considering the frame is so light and only 1x
wheels and tires are heavier being so deep
Does the Nova Ride OSPW work with all three di2s Duraace, Ultegra and 105??
You need to specify model
There's two different models. Ultegra/DA and 105 to choose
OSPW gold carbon reference plz
It is a nova to ride pulley. And use code gcperfnova10 for 10 percent off
@@GCPerformance18can I put it on wheeltop group ? and how is the group wheel top compare to dura-ace di2 and Sram Red on the practice side when u do review after testing it
I've not been in the bike space for longer than I'd like to admit but, is 5K a "Normal" price for a bike???
For 2k you can build a wonderful bike, but you have to know exactly what to buy. For 2.5k you have something amazing. The difference is marketing budgets and feeding all the white people who don't actually produce the parts.
Will this compete with the Sworks SL8 & Cannondale Supersix Evo do you think GC performance?
I think it could for sure, it is sop nice and enjoybale to ride, this bike is a nice upgrade
823 lbs, wow, can you lift it? 😁
I wish you would put it on the scales, so we can see the weight.
You are getting some weird posts.
I would go for the elves Vanyar pro by all standards
Elves 😬
Nah, Tavelo arow
steerer tube size?
Much too expensive !!! 💸💸💸
but the bike is a nice frame and winspace is a real team in the womans tour de france
It's pretty dope. You should probably switch to lizard skin for safety reasons
yea I usually stay in the hoods so it shouldnt be an issue
Nice bike but without all that aero crap.
lmao I know its all I have from my spec bikes
Sick !!!
7.3 kg is with pedals, ready to ride. Impressive
It's getting easier. Frames are lighter, carbon spoked wheels too, and there are plenty of carbon cranks and light AF cassette options.
yea I think they did a good job
Too expensive
Too expensive. They’re not going to be able to compete unless they get frame prices below$1500
yea all these companies are getting higher and higher in prices and if your a dealer like me, I have to pay shiping on top of it as well it is very price for a budget option
Makes no sense climbing with deep dish
yea its crqzzy because I am, not climbing this
just a boring road bike
what bike is not boring
no rim brake verion... booooooo
nope seems like everyone is going away from this
Vote with your wallet. No one is buying rim brake.
