In the sixth instalment of our Longboard SUP Surfing Series, we take a closer look at the cutback manoeuvre.
The cutback is performed on the shoulder of the wave and is used to redirect our board back toward the power pocket of the wave. It is crucial to carry your speed throughout this manoeuvre as you are required to turn your longboard sup back around to face down the line of the wave.

Have you tried out any of the Gong SUP surf boards, and if so what did you think of them?

Hey Guy. We have tried to get hold of Gong boards for a while now, but no luck. The shapes look good and we have heard good and bad things from our readers. Prices are good but sometimes construction and lifespan is not up there with others. I will put it out there. Thanks Reuben ..... GONG RIDERS LET US KNOW?

I've just got a Gong. They're the all in one surf company from design, manufacture, right through to selling surfboards SUP, foils, & wings etc. This includes self promotion & marketing, so I don't think they're that bothered in 3rd party testing. Check out the site it's a great resource.
I have an 8 4 Karmen in FSP2 and it looks and feels solid. Shape is good and surfs very well. IMO it wasn't worth £300 for carbon for a few 100g weight saving.
