This vid is pretty old so not sure who will see this comment. I surf with an iSUP. One technique that has really improved my ability to get over the foam pile is borrowed from river surfing. Do everything you see in this video but DON'T let your paddle hang back when you hit the foam. As your nose starts to go over the foam reach as far FORWARD as you can with the paddle, plant it in the foam and take a hard stroke. This will help pull you up and over the foam pile. HTH...
Yeah that's what I've learned. Timing of that stroke is key! Good video! I wish I would have seen it when learning! I've noticed with my bigger boards that you can kinda ollie by cross stepping forward as the nose pitches up. Doesn't always work but fun to try!
@@peterkim3887 A brand called Shark. Their 10.5 foot longboard isup. My friend uses a cheap Aqua Marina. The thing is amazing in surf. There are some surf specific isups. Otherwise look for for a longboard style board...ideally only 4 inches thick. Note that isup is only good for smaller waves...four maybe five foot at best. After that you are going to need a hardboard.
Great tips ! I delved in an purchased a used carbon ocean race sup. Totally in love with it , It catches waves effortlessly and on smooth water with the wind and tide it like your standing on an engine.
Lots of good advice, thank you. I assume an inflatable board makes it a little tougher. Any advice if you are going to do this on an inflatable board? I plan to try it only when the ocean is super chill.
remember,, unlike surfing a wave, you can get hundreds of trys at this per hour, and consequently, get good quick!!!, its strangely good fun!!, thats why I'm here!!. good vid this, can't knock bic stuff either, though many try!!..

Just recently stumbled upon doing the ollie over the eaves. Really fun not really talked about part of sup surfing.
Thumbs up for the beautiful scenery of the surf at Wilderness Beach in Puerto Rico
