I agree with the comment below about how you never know what's going on in that person's life so extending grace, while difficult, is usually the best course of action. I probably would have muttered a "Well apparently he needs this rack more than I do" and headed to another part of the store. Great opportunity to show the love of Christ to a stranger and it's encouraging to see other believers not lose their cool in a difficult situation!
I had a random lady show up at my local Goodwill, and she kept ramming me with her cart trying to bully me, but I just thought it was funny because she was a tiny little lady, and I’m almost 7 ft tall and 330 lbs, so all she did was bend her cart. What made it even more hilarious to me was how every time she rammed her cart into me and I didn’t move she cussed. She did end up making a few other people extremely angry though because she was doing the same thing to everyone because she was trying to make everyone leave the racks to her.
If i see someone on a rack i will start behind them from the direction they are going but i do get the "line cutters" sometimes. If they annoy me i will kind of be vocal if i find a good piece that i know they had missed lol.
I would have been slightly annoyed but even if he started at the other end and came towards me I wouldn’t have cared. Just rarely has it been that deliberate haha
I think what the other person did was wrong (obviously), but to what extent depends on where your cart was. If your cart was blocking the rest of the aisle long-wise (where it's essentially blocking the 4 feet of the row that you haven't gotten to yet), then that's also kind of your bad. I'm not suggesting what he did was acceptable in any way, but blocking off a section of the row with a cart is also wrong. As people that do this for a living, we should know to keep our carts nearby, but not directly in front of a rack to block other shoppers (resellers or not) from accessing items that we're not actively looking at. If you weren't blocking the row with your cart, then obviously disregard this, but what you're describing sounds like you were.
My cart was directly in front of me so I was blocking about 2ft of the rack but I was actively looking through that section. There was 10 ft of the rack behind me and about 8 ft of the rack in front of my cart. I appreciate the alternative perspective. I’d be curious what others think because I usually have my cart with me where I’m looking and see everyone else doing the same
Caleb, would it be possible to make a short video on getting all your orders from your car to scanned at the USPS? What the best/fastest way to get in and out with 10-50 packages? People dive in front of me all the time, I just go around them and dive in front of them. After that I just move to another row, it happens to me about once a week and I don't confront anyone or say anything. I just get on with my day, no stress, no jail, no hassle.
Yep agreed with the diving around. Just rarely had someone stop my cart from moving haha For the post office I use a scan sheet from pirate ship. I don’t wait in line I just hand the employee the scan sheet and throw my bags on the counter
You are far nicer than I. I have developed relationships with all the employees at the thrifts I go to. I’m a female which probably allows more leverage. My first thought was pretend not to notice the foot and run the cart up his leg 😂😂😂😂. However, I more likely would have called out to the nearest employee. Likely that would be enough to move him along. I am not going to pretend there is no risk to that approach since some people will wait and confront people outside the store. The problem with doing nothing is the behavior goes unchecked and will continue with others. My bins literally bans people who can’t be decent.
$40 for the bin. Totally and once in a lifetime but I’ll be out hunting hoping to live twice :) previous collector that hadn’t opened the bin in 15-20+ years
@@_calebsells you’re welcome brother ❤️ sweet finds and honestly love this style of video, I hope you do more videos of you picking and day in the life videos
Great look into your day! I was thinking of doing a video like this too. I dont do much confrontation. Id prob just move to a different rack. If he was like following you around then thats a different story.
It really depends on the body language for me and my first impression of him but I would’ve asked “What are you looking for? I can help you find it.” So much out there for everyone and if he tells you what to look for it could be more knowledge for you lol
@@_calebsells oh true gosh. I guess it depends on their response as to how I would react. But just keep being you and just know when to walk away from people like that. That’s hard for most people to do including myself. I’ve had similar situations but I’ve turned them around into positive situations cause I got good responses.
Foot on the cart is wrong but people who use their carts to block the aisles are petty in their own way. The aisles at that store sound different since you were able to go around him but at my store a cart takes the whole aisle. Your cart should follow behind you if anything
Really like your channel! I hardly ever comment, but this bugged me. Sorry to hear that happened…my personal opinion is that it crossed the line when they physically touched your cart and impeded your ability to look. Probably would’ve said to get your foot off my cart and let the store know what they did for future issues. All in all, you were cool the first time around. However, no matter what someone is going through, doesn’t give them the right to touch your stuff. Good luck and all the best!
yeah I agree but we have to choose our battles. I was more interested in getting to the next rack (where I found the cool vintage hats anyway). I have seen that person since so I now have my eye out for any potential confrontation
I choose to not get into it at the store or bins. There are rude people everywhere. I would have moved as you did. I have had people reach their arm in front of me and to a blouse almost out of my hand at the bins and laugh as she did it. Funny thing is I never would have grabbed that to sell. I think there are people who are desperate financially and that's not where I'm at. Another person at the bins I was talking to one time said we have to choose to act like humans... That's my motto
I would of said something and then met him outside. But that being said I am a retired fighter so im naturally ok with this. I never ever ever look for trouble and im a super nice person but if you directly disrespect me, im going to give it back to you x10.
He was in your space and if it were me it would have been on. He was jealous of your scores. Don't hate the player hate the game baby!!! Benny Hill that fool!
Let me know how you would have handled that situation below!

Absolutely love this style of video from you! Enjoy seeing the almost behind the scenes content with sourcing that we dont typically see! Great hauls!
Glad you enjoyed it!

It's a good day when the finds are plentiful and prices are great all in one store :D
amen!!!

@@michaels5676 yeah that’s the reason I do pirate ship for everything. It’s the same prices
As a Jax native who has suffered through the years of atrocious football… there are some awesome vintage pieces, that hat being one of them!
haha thanks! yeah I was stoked to see the banned logo
Congrats on your success all around - both your finds and your channel. All the best!
Thank you very much!
Hey you scored a chief Wahoo Cap jacket and pull over. That's gold. The Polo university jacket is gold.
Thanks! I felt like it was a surprisingly good day of finds for the local spots
My daughter has been having more and more rude encounters like that. So frustrating.
hate to hear it but I'm not surprised

Yeah I wasn’t at my typical spots where they workers know me or I probably would have mentioned something to the cashier
I bet that pick-a-hat round was super fun, like being a kid again with baseball cards
it truly was
quick right hook straight to the flesh pony for that dude
a+ answer
Hat haul is once and a lifetime. How much did you get them all for? Did a collector or former re-seller own them?

I think you handled it good brother ❤ honestly I hate confrontation as well so I totally understand that ❤
thanks man

I woulda thrown hands haha
Lol!
I would have gave him the laugh and the "ok dude" and went around him
Yeah that’s about all you can do lol
You were pretty nice, I'm not always that nice to rude people. The cart might have accidentally rolled over his feet lol
Lol I try to be nice but all of the options did cross my mind
"Excuse me sir, I already grabbed all the good stuff"
hahaha exactly can't be that mad

@@_calebsells They absolutely saw you filling your cart lol
probably
Bro!! Can we see a pic of the Dodgers hat you sold for $100? Will you update us on some more of your hat sales?
I don't have any pics! I'll have to make a video soon. Sold quite a few and the auction for the leftovers ends on sunday evening
I think you handled it great Caleb, definitely not a good idea to start something at the thrift store. 😅
I think so too!
It happens so infrequently, despite the prevalence of mental illness at these kinds of places. Definitely not worth the trouble.
Yep! Never know why someone is acting that way
Move the cart back, then run it through his foot. 😂
lol!
