- This video shows you how to convert a vertical video to horizontal so that you can use it on RUclips without the black bars.
If you have a IGTV video or a Facebook Live video you would like to repurpose to use on RUclips, than you are going to love this tutorial. I was able to do it all inside of Canva vertical video tutorial.

Alease, you did something super creative and awesome. I was looking for some solutions for the vertical videos and this was great, very well explained. Thank you so much!!!! God bless you!!

Creating a template for my vertical video to go horizontal right now. This is helpful. Thank you
You are welcome 😊
Excellent video! Thank You so much 😊
Cool idea. Thanks!
I am currently working on my template in Canva to turn all of my vertical shopping videos into horizontal (well the ones that won't be reels) so I can stitch them together. I came back (Inspired by Ebony Love) to find out what file type to save it as. Thank you for this tutorial again. For one of my videos I decided to just use the canvas option in InShot to fill the horizontal screen with the vertical video via the ZOOM option where nothing other than my face really needed to be seen.
That's awesome 👌🏾
Thank you for making it so easy!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching 😊
Exactly what I needed. Thanks! About to start off my channel with existing vertical videos lol.
Edit: I think another option is to simply cut the background of your vertical video and apply it to a similar horizontal background.
That's a really good idea. There are a lot of platforms out there that will remove the backgrounds from your video.
Thank you soo much. You helped me so much!!❤❤❤❤
You are welcome 😊

THAAAAAANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Thank you sooooo much. I hope I can use it for recipes. I am building an Instagram account promoting toxic free homemade skincare recipes and ideas at this moment and want to start youtube, but I just have no time to record both types of videos. So I hope I will be able to use your tutorial somehow ❤
I hope you will too
Uauuuuu!! 😍😍😍😍 Muchas gracias!!! Lo hice! ❤no ha quedado tan perfecto como el tuyo, pero para ser el primero, esta bien....🤣 Miles de gracias, un abrazo volador 🤗
Thank you for this video. I made the template and uploaded the video, but it didn't work. Instead, the black parts turned white. Do you know how to troubleshoot this or can you point me to a resource? Thank you in advance.
Is there a way for you to send me a screenshot of the problem?
@@AleaseMichelle That's very generous of you, Alease. Thank you. I can send it via email or Instagram. Which do you prefer?

The only thing is once I take a vertical oriented video and turn it horizontal on YT doesn’t it get a lot harder for the viewer to see what is inside the small vertical screen in the middle of all of that space? Aside from Shorts, do completely vertical, long form videos show up in full screen if watched on a mobile phone?
I'm not sure. I've seen a few videos that do when viewed on the phone. I typically watch most RUclips videos on my laptop.
@@AleaseMichelle There is a channel I watch called Patty Jackson and she does all of her videos vertical. I’m going to see if her videos fill up my screen. I think they leave a little space at the bottom of my screen when I’m holding it vertical. Do you have any examples where you have converted a vertical video to horizontal to see how that looks from a phone?
@@InspiredByEbonyLove know I haven't. I will check her channel out too. I might learn something 😄
@@InspiredByEbonyLove I just checked out her page. You are right. There are few videos that take up the entire page when you are on your phone and a few videos that are in horizontal formate with a lot of black space around it.
Here's my guess... when she adds her intro video then her content video the format remains horizontal.
When she uploads the video with no intro the video fills up the phone vertical format. It also looks like she is recording her video in a square 1:1 format.
But I’m just guessing. I would need to try it out for myself.
Thanks for sharing this with me.
My video IS horizontal. YT converts it to vertical on upload. How do I turn that off?
When I recorded this video - RUclips didn't have RUclips short. Try not placing the vertical video in the center and off center it a little.
Hey Coach, have you created a video on how to create a RUclips channel?
If you have a Gmail account you have a RUclips channel
