    Hi very well done. Those carriage bolt holes in the chute, normally the bolts have large knobs so you can adjust the angle by hand when using the machine.

    In the process of rebuilding my snowblower a second time
    in 20 some years.
    Your video was very well done with lots of good detailed instructions. I learned a number of good points from your video.
    My first rebuild required a new augger shaft to be made due to bend in old one. This overhall is a result of same problem from a pice of cement going through blower. Both times blower had a severe vibration due to a bent shaft. Measured latest shaft in v-bolocks and it has 0.083" runout In middle area. Lots of unbalance from the auger high-speed and large diameter.
    Wanted to mention this problem incase someone else does not have structure cracking like yours had and there is too much vibrations.
    Thank you very much for the time and good quality of your video.

    In the process of reinstalling engine someone else ripped out on a 245 with the kawi. As there’s not many videos on these mowers. Loved the video your very detailed and would be great if you made a video on how wiring is ran to the motor as-well as fuel lines.

      This manual (pdf) from MyMowerParts.com might be very helpful for you - it covers several Kawasaki engines, including the FD590V:

    Ok, I have a 265 I picked up from an implement dealer in Hopkins mn for only $200. Missing the mower deck as they ONLY used it to blow snow, so it has this Snowthrower.
    WOW, Your video is TOP Shelf. However, I'm questioning the counting of the chain at 21:45. It seems like the initial vertical link at 21:50, was not counted. Am I wrong? So I'm thinking it should be 37links PLUS the 1 master link?

    • @L35inColorado
      @L35inColorado  7 месяцев назад

      Wow, that's a great deal!
      As for the links: I'm counting the outer links (plates) only, and there's 36 outer links, plus the outer master link.
      So, there's no "vertical link" to count at 21:50 - the link that's in the vertical orientation is underneath the ends of the two "horizontal" outer links. I have the chain folded such that the only outer "vertical link" is the master link at the left-hand end - all the other outer links are in the "horizontal" position.
      I hope that helps : ) Thanks for watching!

    I have a JD snowblower. their idler with bearings only last one year at over $40.00 each, i need 2. i bought replacements at Tractor supply for $14.00 ea. drilled drain holes for snow and placed silicone on the bearings seal to keep out water and salt. the bearings lasted over 10 years. Today JD wants $50.00 per idler i bought them online for $20.00 ea. BTW i have a JD X320 made in china and is a pos. my previous JD 165 lasted over 20 years without any reapirs at all. made in U.S.A.

    • @L35inColorado
      @L35inColorado  9 месяцев назад

      Ah man, I'm sorry you had all that trouble, but thanks for adding your tips! I am very disappointed to see JD selling "made in China" bearings at "made in Japan" prices. Whenever I can, I use the cross-reference documents online to find bearings from a non-China supplier, and now I have to consider that JD is made in China oftentimes. This old JD 285 is coming up on 35 years old - it still runs well and does what it's supposed to and is an old USA-made JD with a Japanese Kawasaki engine. I guess we just need to keep the old ones going! : )
      Thanks for watching!

      @@L35inColoradothank you for your supportive words. btw. JD sells a carb kit for my x320 at $150.00. I bought a new carb for 75.00. Also replaced main drive belt with aftermarket brand saving over 50% on price. Thks and keep the videos coming.
