    I was positively shocked when in my latest Austria campaign the pope asked me to defend the Latin Empire. I was like "Wait What?""
    Unfortunately, I was in the middle with a war against Venice at the time, and while I joined the war, by the time I was able to do anything the Latin Empire had basically decided it wasn't going to win, despite the fact that the war ticker was slowly moving in their favor. They ceded a couple territories, and naturally got wiped out in the next war. I was so disappointed.

      There are some more interesting ways missing, such as restoring Hellenism. If the Norse religion can be restored, why not Hellanism?

    • @trite4654
      @trite4654 7 месяцев назад +1

      @lookasetbella history, probably.
      Hellenism was probably extinct by the 5th or 6th centuries, and its cultural practices didn't really survive crackdowns by the Christian church authorities. Asatru, the Norse faith, lasted much longer, until the 11th or 12th centuries. Even after the Norse faith was replaced by Christianity, many parts of their original faith were kept, such as poems featuring pre-christian pagan myths and certain pagan rituals that lasted for centuries after the Faith's official decline.
      In essence, hellenism is deader than dead and has been for nearly 1000 years at this point in the game. Norse is only half dead and was around a lot more, so a potential revival makes a *little* bit more sense

    • @Dukaier

      @@lookasetbella so the 1st path is the hard path latin empire the problem with this path it just too much rebels going on though you can do it just improve relation qith the elector and the capital is on europe and just weaken austria by humaliating it, scorch their land and eat hungary. And keep improving relation to the elector and hipe to rng they pick you just take diplomatic idea. Once the electors elected you as hre emperor, join the hre add all provinces to hre and then here is byzantine autocracy play its part. When pretender rises up (when you ruler dies) let the pretenders wins (let them win and dont accept their demand) and you get an event where your emperor "dies" an event shows and then gives you imperial authority (i believe its 10 i.a) and then immediately pretender rises over and then let them enforce demand over and over again until you revoke previligia and become hre.

And How on earth Hungary gets Bohemia and Muscovy in a PU one year after the other, why Albania ally the Hungary and the Pope, my allies too, making attacking Venice or a Mamelukes capable to defeat the ottomans my best options to keep expanding. I haven't done a Latin Empire run yet, but in my ~5 starts as Byz (trying out the Candar defensive war start) I got the event every time I ended up in the war against them, and I wasn't losing those wars. Nothing in the event says you need to be losing for it to trigger, sometimes it just takes a while. It's probably a lot better to not trash your country at the start to do this. Additionally if you get those claims through the mission tree before or during the war you're going to save a bunch of AE and dip.

    • @lookasetbella
      @lookasetbella  Год назад

      The event requirements only state that it should be a defensive war for Byzantium and an offensive war for Ottoman. This approach in the video was the best in 10+ reboots.I don't really understand the trash country statement. I didn't do anything like that. You cannot make claims on Anatolia before retaking your own home territory.

    • @fabbyrob
      @fabbyrob Год назад

      @@lookasetbella The 'Impending doom' first mission gives you claims in anatolia which you can use in the defensve war. Also it gives claims in bulgaria you could use, if you dont want to release bulgaria for reconquest.
      The `trash' comment is a bit hyperbolic, but getting full occupied and tons of devastation (while paying for forts) lead to your debt issue. It also means you are just hoping for the event to fire before the ottoman sieges finish. If you just fight the ottomans with a couple allies (I used hungary and poland) while you wait for the pope event to fire you can pretty safely do this with no loans. And the event *will* eventually fire, worst case you just wait in the war for a while.
      I was using the strategy from @TheStudent recent byz video for this, with a few tweaks.

    • @LookasHTW
      @LookasHTW Год назад

      Rather, I wanted to go into a quick war here. Previously, I took a few small allies. I was moving the fort. I was abolishing armies, but Osman was attacking me anyway after 4-5 years or eaven 10 years.
      But that's how you really approach it and then you won't come out in such a bad state. You're right.
