Thank you for sharing. If it wasn’t for your tutorial, I wouldn’t know that there’s a filter in mine..probably threw it out and didn’t read the instructions. Luckily, I use filtered water. Thanks again for the tutorial.

Gloria below is correct, after soaking the new filter, rinse out the residual charcoal dust before using it.

I have arthritis and pushing the arrows doesn't really work well, it gets more difficult each time I do this. Any suggestions for "old" hands, a possible work-around? Or maybe a different coffee machine?

    • @shawnkdodds

Actually figured out that if i squeeze the part above filter in such a way that the arrows sort of pucker, it is easy to remove.

Yes but after soaking or rinsing a few minutes the water will begin to run clear
She failed to say that in the video but if you don't soak/ rinse the charcoal filter you'll be drinking that black water in your first few cups of coffee 🤮

My coffee maker is similar but my water resevoir is at the back and there is no long cartridge cover to pull out to change,as the video shows and as customer service explained for me to do, there is nothing to grab and pull out, so how does anyone change a filter that this does not accommodate you to change, your youtube video did not help, I guess I will buy a different kind of coffee maker that makes it easier to clean 😢

      *a copy paste from website*
The black dust from a water filter might look unappealing, but it’s harmless. Manufacturing activated carbon is safe for human consumption, and it isn’t regulated by the EPA. This means there’s no maximum amount of carbon we can consume that’s deemed “unsafe”.
