Neat job and it looks fabulous. Can't wait to see it in the ground working come sprirng.
As you mentioned about discarding "metal" I save the pieces too. You're repurposing the left over parts of the dolly build. Now I just wish I had the land for a garden as this project would be on my list.
Webpage is looking good too. Happy New Year and good tractoring...................

Thanks for showing this , I'm planning on doing the same thing as what you did .
Good job. Looking forward to seeing it in action this spring.
Nicely done can’t wait to take mine to Cuba to my grandpa so he’ll do the same, great upgrade thanks!
Tony, That came out really nice. Looks like it will work just fine. Good job and thanks for the videos.
LOL, I know what you mean especially after all that work, and want to see if it works like you planned.
Awesome job!
Thank you
We C-clamp a piece of angle iron onto the flap of our tiller. Then clamp the kickstand of the earthway to the angle iron. miles and miles of rows.
It does require two people. One walking behind to make sure all is turning and seeding well.
This one works pretty good. I feel confident to just let it plant. I really enjoy that part.
I would add hiller plates to do the covering, for the soil in East TN anyway. The chain may work fine in your sandy stuff out there you call dirt...LoL
Now that it is known it works best tilted, that tilt could be fabbed into the parts that hold the seed basket. Then the rest of the planter could run 90 degrees to the earth.
It could, but I am not doing it 😁. It has been working fine for four years of planting.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I knew you would say that. I was thinking mostly of people who build one after you showed them the way.
If I had it to build again, I would! 😇
Looks good Tony but now i wont to see it planting ! LOL but nice job take care and Merry Christmas ! Curt :-)
This is bad ass!!!
Thank you. It still works, but I bought a big one.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I just ordered a Chapin seeder. Going to make somthing like this but for my utv w a winch used for lift and setting. Says has a steel frame as opposed to AL. I’ll have to see how rigid, before I weld something beefier. Great video tho !!
That's really cool Tony! As a child me and my siblings were the "auto planters" LOL... are you concerned about the width of your rows at all because of the width of the tractor?
I know exactly what you mean about the rocks, and also it was a little steep where you lived.
Hows it holding up after 6years of use?
It still works fine
I couldn’t find a link saying where you got the spring and how much tension the spring has. I already have a Earthway planter to use to make one, I have a 318 John Deere with a hydraulic 3-point lift that I’m going to use to pull the planter.
Do you have any measurements of the planter build that might help me building mine. Thanks
I bought the spring at Tractor Supply. I would build the planter fist and then build the spring hinge to fit your tractor.
Ok do you remember how much tension the spring has. Thanks
I don't remember. It has been too long ago.
Did you leave enough room for the fertilizer box?
There is no fertilizer box.
Where did you get the springs and what tension is on them? What are the wheels’ material? Thank you in advance
I think there is a link to the video I built it in below the video.
Curious if this is still working for you? Anything you would do differently?
Still working! So far I have not done anything to it other than grease the axles. They show no wear. Going to plant corn soon.
@@TonysTractorAdventure fantastic. I hope I can do as good of a job as you did. 👍
look like you could have just turn it over.
see war you have it out of the tractor going up you could have turn it down and welded a new stop on it.
Great video I hope you don’t mind if I steal your idea thanks
