Nice video! I rigged up a horse/mule drawn Cole Duplex planter behind the Farmall Super AV back in march and planted our garden for the first time with a tractor.
Great planting music! Can't dance a jig while planting, though. I got a 3 point 2 row john deere 246 from a guy off of Facebook market place. He used it for sweetcorn, as the guy he got it from. I just planted my sweetcorn with it yesterday. Had it on my ford 860.
I have one I used to pull behind a Cub Cadet. The two curved pieces beside the furrow opener I removed as found they were unneeded. Seed bed prep is critical. f there is a lot of trash it would build up so much it would raise the back of the garden tractor. My fertilizer hopper is rusted out. I just used an agirfab broadcast spreader. Maintenance of the tractor and tiller was more than the effort was worth. The long belt was $130. would only last 2 or 3 years. I now have a Ford 8n like you and may try to find a way to pull mine with it. Need to find a field cultivator first for tillage. Is the 3point bracket made by Cole also? Bought mine from ebay for $125.
I have a problem with trash clogging the front of mine up as well. Especially last year where I was not able to plow because of rain. The dead weeds would not turn under no matter how many times I ran the disc through it. I would assume Cole would make a 3 point hitch for their planters. My bracket was made from 2 pieces of angle iron. A longer one in the back and a shorter one in the front. Cut and drilled to bolt to my one row cultivator. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!
I'm rebuilding an old 12mx planter using the parts diagram, but I'm stuck on putting the fertilizer bucket parts in place. I'm missing the cuttoff disk (200 dollars), so I'll just fabricate my own disk, since it's just riveted aluminum. If you get a chance, could you peak a photo of the gears inside that fertilizer bottom slot? The manual doesn't show exactly how those gears connect to the fertilizer plate. Thanks for the video anyways, farm on!
Not sure if you are asking about the planter or the tractor. I assume the planter. You can buy them new online for a lot of money. Around $1700. I got mine from a buddy’s grandfather for a few hundred. I fixed it up and painted it. You can find them at auctions and craig’s list from time to time. Often the fertilizer hopper is rust out. You can find replacement parts online. Thank you for watching!
That all depends on my driving. Which is normally all over the place. I have never measured to see the exact spacing. I keep them as close as I possibly can get with a 8n and one row cultivator. When I plant I keep my tires about 6 inches off the previous row. Thank you for watching!

Dang I have the same planter
Good video! I'd love to find one of those little planters to use with my 8n!
I have seen a few at estate auctions over the years. That’s about the only place to get them at a good price. Thanks for watching!

Maybe hang around and help older farmer plant his corn and ask questions. Thanks for the video.

What kind of planner is it
My planter is a old Cole 12mx I fixed up years ago. Thank you for watching!
where did you get your seed from?
I normally get it from Jordan Seed Company online. In my travels I sometimes find Sweetie or How Sweet It Is, but hardly ever. Thanks for watching!
Where can I buy one

Do you know what the number is on the plate?
10-152 is all I can remember seeing. Just seeing that is a struggle.
