you read my mind I was thinking on how to do the same thing. Thumbs up! Question for ya. I am amusing that you are using the 3 point hitch and can press down on the seeder. If not how will it roll with out the wheight to press the seeder on the ground?

It take very little weight to roll the planter. I built it out of steel, so it weighs about 30 pounds by itself. It has worked great every year.

I couldn’t find a link saying where you got the spring at and how much tension the spring has.
I have a 318 John Deere with a hydraulic 3-point lift that I will use to pull the planter, do you have any measurements on the planter that might help me building mine like the measurements of the part that the spring attaches to.
I subscribed to your channel I really enjoy all your videos. Thanks

If memory serves, I bought the spring at tractor supply. I would build the planter first and then build the hitch to fit your tractor. My setup is made for a subcompact or small utility tractor. Good luck on the build. I had as much fun building it as I did using it. Tony

@@TonysTractorAdventure Do you have a length of the spring?

Three point hitch doesn’t have any down pressure, is the spring really necessary?

Yes, all tractor planters have springs. It takes up the slack when the ground from the planter is uneven.

Stainless steel or cad plated hardware will not corrode aluminum.
