I have been doing tractor 🚜 jobs for nearly 15 years, my number 1 attachment by far is a brush hog, you just have to stick to your pricing , you will go broke if you work too cheap
Here's a tip. start at the side and work into the stump. not top down. you want to grind with the grain you are grinding against the grain. like trying to sand the end grain of a board vs. sanding with the grain. I've done hundreds of stumps, trust me try it.
I talked about moving to the edge in the video. I normally use it on another tractor. I had to learn my angles from this seat. Each tractor is a little bit different. I actually prefer using my little 25 horsepower tractor because I can see so clearly. The t474 is obviously stronger, but it's harder to see implements. I would say we are up into the hundreds of stumps as well. It is a satisfying experience.
When cutting off big stumps with a saw plunge cut in to center then go around the stump with the top of bar. It will pile wood chips inside and never pinch the saw.
Great explanation of what actual costs are and like you said, once you've done these calculations a few times it you will know it off the top of your head. I looked into starting a forestry mulching business and the minimum job would be $1000+. Anything less was not worth the time. I'd add that cleaning your machine, loading it and unloading it are all part of the job. That's a hour right there. Unless you are fortunate to be able to leave your rig hooked up and just tow and go. Oh and what you said about having a guy that will show up is HUGE. I tried to have my house painted and had 4 contractors tell me they were going to show up for a quote, none came. I got pissed off and bought a $400 sprayer and did my entire house in a few days. I finally got quotes and it was over $10k+
Good Evening Sir, This is an OUTSTANDING Informative Videos ( Truck, Trailer, Tractor, Maintenance, 15% for repair, Insurance, New Implements/Attachments, Wear and Tear ) Keep Up Your OUTSTANDING Informative Husband and Wife Team Work Videos Sir Cheers 🍻🍻
Keep in mind there are lots of folks that have implements and do services for people at cut-rate pricing just because they like doing it, or to put gas in their machine. Not all your competition is going to be from businesses. That's why there's that guy that will bushhog your field for $100. He doesn't care about the wear. He probably doesn't use the machine a lot on his property, so he does other jobs for seat time, or other reasons, but he's not trying to make money as a business. Usually they have a full-time job doing something else and do this in their spare time. Yeah, it sucks to compete with them, as some customers are just looking for a cheap deal, but they don't last usually.
Timely topic for me, Tony. I was impressed that Tanja was running the camera while tilting the trailer. I thought that stump was going to burst into flames at one point. 🤣
God you mate and your family and friends as well great video and it should help people like what you do as always thank you for sharing your experience with us all.
Dadgummed nice trailer, with hydraulics. I enjoy your videos and the information you provide. Ummmm, chickens are important, especially if I do not have to pluck them ...
Kinda off topic but why is there no content out there for the 554 or 454 is there any reason? I was thinking there would be a video somewhere comparing 574 to 554 or something
please stop trying to teach people... everything look brand new lol... nothing have worked to bring money home yet... cool video but the BS about the business is hilarious.

That tractor and stump grinder combo seems to work really well. I like it!
It does a great job

I forgot to say thank you for the insight. I do appreciate it.
Great Job Tony.
FYI that premixed 2 stroke fuel is some of the worse fuel to run in your small engines. Lots of videos on this topic.
Thank you. I have never had a problem with the fuel. I have left in my weed eater over the winter and it starts almost on the first pull.

I am not a big fan of a plunge cut. I am obviously not a pro. 😁

Thank you. I didn't mention it in the video but our time is part of the equation. Being on time is huge.

Hello, my friend. Thank you so much for supporting us.

Valid point, I don't think there's enough of those to be real competition.

Red Cedar has a lot of oil in them. It smokes a lot if I stay in one area too long..
Looks like somebody cut on it a little. 🤣🤣🤣.

hi Tony , question how deep do you grain down the stump ?
I can grind about 7-8 inches down.

You'd have to grind an awful lot of stumps to pay for that sweet trailer.
You misunderstand my situation. I already own the trailer because of other reasons. Something this heavy-duty is not required.
You could cut some nice cookies out of that cedar on the mill.
I thought about that, but They wanted it for a project.
What canopy is that?
It is a Rhino Canopy.
You need ear protection brother!
What
Add $1 to the bid 😂
