    Pretty neat for sure!! I forget how it was supposed to be used before you modified it for the tractor mount but it's the perfect tool on that back of that tractor. Fabulous job on the build of the stronger frame and the demo shows it works very well. Keep the videos coming!!

    Good job on the planter mod. I have given a lot thought about how to make it hook to my three point. Good job on that. One method to get seeds out of hopper could be a small vacuum cleaner. Or make the frame so the planter could be pulled out of frame to remove seeds. Make the original frame set on your frame. Looks good.

    Great video Tony. I am currently looking for acreage to have a hobby farm and researching tractors at the same time. Your videos are perfect for me in demonstrating your tractor doing exactly the types of jobs I will need mine to do. Great modification of the Earthway planter, perfect for a small plot and so much cheaper than buying a commercial 3 point planter. From what I've learned, it's easy to wind up having as much invested in implements as in the tractor. Keep your videos coming.

    Portable battery vac will suck the seeds out of the planter, I have both Hoss planters and use my battery Dewalt vac to remove the seed easy to place in a bag later, so don't have to disassemble just change plates.

    There are two bolts holding the hopper onto
    Thefram that you can take the hopper off dump it out .

    Ya got me wanting to build one now. Only thing I see that MIGHT need addressing is the Back covering wheel. It is too narrow for the pressure being exerted on it by the 3 point. A wider wheel would do a better job of covering the seeds with dirt in the great looking tilled soil.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  Год назад

      I agree. At the time I duplicated what Earthway did. If I did it over, I would upgrade the rear.

  • @Rdrake1413
    @Rdrake1413 5 лет назад +2

    I have an Earthway seeder and didn't like the seed plate on the side. It didn't always pick up a seed and if it did they would fall out. I have sandy soil and the drive wheel just didn't want to turn. I like the Hoss planter design better but the are pretty expensive. I recently purchase a one row Cole 12MX Multi-Flex planter and fertilizer. The Cole is gear driven so there are no belts to slip. In the process of cleaning it up and repainted it. Hope to have it really for planting this spring.

      @Rdrake1413 5 лет назад

      @@TonysTractorAdventure I have had the Earthway for about 10 years and have tried just about everything to get it to plant right. Put on a new belt and drive wheel and even tilted to the side. I think it being so light and my sandy soil are the main issues. Will have to see how the Cole planter does it is 3-point mounted so will be able to use it with my TC33-D.

  • @justdoingmyownthing.2504
    @justdoingmyownthing.2504 4 года назад +1

    So how did the corn do? Did you have a solid yield for the corn or did you need to do some tweaking for the next season?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 года назад +1

      It planted a seed every nine inches. We yielded about 3 to 4 ears per plant. We put down nitrogen in addition to the standard fertilizer 13-13-13. Corn really likes nitrogen. It will deplete nitrogen in your soill very fast.

  • @jd8230
    @jd8230 Год назад

    Wouldn't a piece of square or round plastic make a larger hopper that way the seed would gravity out and stay below the the full line?

  • @TimeAfterTym
    @TimeAfterTym 2 года назад +1

    Hey Tony. I like what you did creating the seed planter. It sure beats paying the price as they want for a single seed planter. Maybe this is the wrong video to ask this question but I didn’t see a video about harvesting. So for the guy who plants an acre of corn, how do you harvest it? It’s far too large for me to do it by hand and I don’t think I could trick my wife into doing it… A bit of humor there! Do they make tiny combines to pull behind a tractor to pluck the sweet corn ears? I really have not been able to find anything online so I figure I must be looking things up with the wrong vocabulary. I’m hoping you have an idea.

      @@TonysTractorAdventure 20k for a tractor why put the wear and tear on it doing something you could do by hand with little effort? I get the idea…but you’re limited on spacing your rows to the width of the tractor which is a lot of space between your rows now….plus the fuel and cost of the tractor is going to cut into the savings of growing your own food…but idk I don’t have a tractor or a garden so you do you man.

      The tractor does more than just this single task. With your logic, you walk to town. You don't need a car. Give up your computer too. Two cans with a string are all the required communication needed. You gave me a good laugh.👍

      We thank you for your opinion and for watching our videos. Pounds per square inch. The size tires on the tractor are matched to the weight of the tractor, putting less pounds per square inch than your body weight. I am fat, so my weight is more like double that of the tractor. Any food you buy is most likely planted and harvested by a large piece of equipment using the exact same principles as this small tractor. The big fat tires are not for looks. I hope this helps in your quest of knowledge.
