- A playthrough of Konami's 1996 sports game for the Sony PlayStation, International Track & Field.
Played on the normal difficulty level. At 24:17, you can see a couple of nifty secret things, like the mole, the dinosaur, and swimming in bikinis.
International Track & Field, a port of the arcade game Hyper Athlete, was the first 3D Track & Field game, and it was the sequel to Konami's '88 Games ( • '88 Games (Arcade) Pla... ).
The gameplay doesn't deviate much from the template established by the older games in the series, but it does a great job of updating the presentation for a new generation. The graphics are sharp, the stadium is loud and full of life, and the quick camera cuts, voiceovers, and the distinct lack of loading screens all give the presentation a convincing broadcast-like quality.
Beyond that, there's not much to say. It's classic Track & Field with a fresh coat of paint, and it's excellent.

NintendoComplete (www.nintendocom...) punches you in the face with in-depth reviews, screenshot archives, and music from classic 8-bit NES games!
It's the same classic Track & Field as we'd been playing since the 80s, but what a difference that TV-style 3D presentation makes!
INTERNATIONAL TRACK & FIELD
is definitely the best sports game,
i have ever played on my PlayStation.
I used to have the original classic
TRACK & FIELD for my Commodore 64
as a tape version.
I even loved the loading screen / tune 🎵🎶 😺👍🕹️.
It's a shame, i sold it away at a flea market in the late mid 2010's 😹.
At least, i still have the other Konami sports game, HYPER SPORTS, also for
my Commodore 64 as a tape version 😺👍🕹️.
A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from
Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.
its always nice to hear the ps1 start up screen
used to love this. beautiful times, easy times, great to see this!!
This for the 2 player times, Resident Evil 1 and 2 and final fantasy 7 for the shared bro times
Loved this game.
Regular multi tap rotation. The announcers lisp always cracked us up
And a great way to wear in the buttons for 2d fighters
Fun fact- Keiichiro Toyama, an artist on this game, would go on to direct the original Silent Hill video game after this.
there’s even assets from this game still left over in silent hill 1’s files
Did not know there was Track & Field game for PS1. This is *_miles_* better than Olympic Summer Games for PS1, too. Better looking character models, the stadium is no longer depressing and lifeless, and even the commentator has more enthusiasm.
this is a 1970s game okay everybody bless ya x
Definetly better graphics. Impressive water physics very arcade like.
Apparently this was a licensed game in Japan, for the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.
Yeah, iirc, over there the PlayStation version was called Hyper Olympics in Atlanta.
"International Track & Field" from Konami can be watched on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and ALLTV.
My finger still hurt
Oh wow.... I still have this game.
That mole/gopher seems to be... “appreciating” a certain part of that athlete.
Quality assets are always worth appreciating 😂
Are we gonna see you play Sydney 2000 Dreamcast version?
i had this... destroid the controller while tapping with some serious instruments to run faster....
Please, tell me how to high jump and poke vault, I can always qualify but never get the record, are they both 3 tap? The high jump seems to be a press and hold. But I've never been able to find the actual way to do them correctly
🏃💨
So the Olympic Games was inspired for the Youth Olympic Games, Wolrd Olympics and the Adult Olympics?
I prefer classic arcade track & field over this
Was this on a demo disk at one point?
ITAF 2000 was for sure, I still have the Official PlayStation Mag disc with it. I don't know about this one.
Who Will Be Number One In The World?
Re upload ps1 Interanational Track & field
This is a brand new recording.
Yo! I love your work and I just wanted to ask if it'd be alright to use some of your Gameplay footage, I think it'd be a perfect fit for a project I'm working on, please feel free to say no 🤍
Thanks! Sure, I don't mind as long as you clearly credit the source the footage.
@@NintendoComplete Thank you, I'll make sure you're featured in the video's credits and description.
Me and my cousins played this all day all night! My fingers are still configured to 🟪🟠😂
