This is a great tutorial!!! I suggest doing tutorials like this more often. What i really like about this tutorial is that you showed us how to make many different charms. I also really like how you showed us how to make the bracelet. I think flavor themes would be cool! For this one it's mint chocolate, you could also do a strawberry theme, cookies'n cream theme, etc.
Sorry I ask but where do you buy the clay? They looked so cool I wanted to make them myself and how long do you cook them? What temperature and in a oven or microwave? Sorry for the questions! :)
I use a toaster oven I bought just for the clay. I use Premo which bakes at 275 The time depends on the thickness of your project :) Mine usually range fro 15 minutes to 30 minutes. I buy my clay from Micheals and Joanns, which are the only craft stores close to me.
Heather these are awesome looking. May I ask are these charms or dollhouse miniatures size? You don't give sizes any longer on your tutorials I was just wondering why? Also, this is your channel and I enjoy every minute that you spend on your tutorials. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much :) These are charm size, but I think I should do some tiny scale truffles too :) I plan on doing a candy them after either fruit and veggies, or Fall/ Halloween
Since you were talking about cane not turning out, I was curious about making canes. I tried to make a citrus cane, and it keeps coming out all lop sided. Do you have any suggestions for beginners?
Cane work is best with the firmer clays. I use Premo., Fimo is best for cane work. Sculpey III is way to soft. You can let your premo rest a bit between steps if it doesn't feel firm enough. I find the more I do canes, typically the better they turn out.
Thank you so much :) I know I get many comments about length, but feel the real time will allow me to not leave things out. I am so glad you like them the way they are :)
Ohburiedagain, I let them rest about 30 minutes before cutting into them. I also make sure to use at least 1/2 Premo, or more for strength. Sculpey III is too soft :(
I started working with polyer clay in 2000 I was 24, and loved a show called the Carrol Duvall Show. There were polymer clay artists on often. I started playing with it then.
Yummy ;) Thanks for all your wonderful creations ! I really appreciate your explanation about colors. Can you make a vid about clay color mixing? See you ^^
Yes :) They have a decent amount of colors. I tend to mix colors to get the shade I want most of the time though. I am quite the translucent addict :) I use it in almost everything
I use Polymer clay. There are many brands, but I use Premo and sometimes a little Sculpey III Every polymer clay package has the baking instructions on it. Baking time depends on how big or small you make them. Generally speaking my baking times are 18 minutes to 28 minutes
Thank you very much! I hope you love it. Truffles are a great first project and pretty forgiving too. The chocolate color is burnt umber premo. the multiple colors mixed, but truffles look great with many colors. White chocolate and raspberry colors look really good too! :)
Syed Ash I use cold porcelain all the time I use the homemade version and I made truflles with it it can be roll out suuuper thin, do you buy yours or make it at home?
Heather Wells sure Heather, please do.. but i the videos i have put up are all finished items :D i dont really have the finesse to make a tutorial yet.. lol..
***** Hi Heidy.. do you have any tutorial on the truffles you've made? i use home made CP.. :D also, i use CP all the time too.. we dont get Polymer clay here.. so Cold porcelain it is:)
You are very welcome :) I ended up making a strawberry shortcake ice cream from one of your older tutorials and it was very successful. :D keep posting awesome videos! :)
No, I get hard gels, so I go in for a fill every two to 3 weeks. Since my hands are pretty much working hands (not pretty), I like to have them prettier for filming the tutorials Sometimes I make miniature foods, for my nails and they attach them :)
thats a good idea and it helps spread the word of your shop. I've been telling everyone about your shop unfortunately the husband says we don't have the money right now for what is in my shopping cart on etsy. :/
I like the simplicity and cuteness of these chocolates... it makes me crave for chocolate....but I can't eat any because of my scabbed and broken lips. Ugh
Awesome.. Can you please help me find the second half with the glazing part? I found the bracelet video. Thank you so much you are so talented.

I will try to do something like this more often.

perfect timing to teach us, well done. But what happened to the glazing part?
Chris Caine she has a lot of great tutorials, but a lot are either hard to hear or cuts off abruptly. :(
Thank you

I love these. I'm brand new to clay and I can't wait to make some in all different colors 😊
They are fun!
White chocolate, strawberry, and raspberry make a great color scheme too
Do you have the ratio of what to use for the mint color?
Since you were talking about cane not turning out, I was curious about making canes. I tried to make a citrus cane, and it keeps coming out all lop sided. Do you have any suggestions for beginners?

How do you store all your creations? On display?
I will have to do a new art room video. Most of my piece are tucked away in storage containers though. I can show it all soon
I love all of your charms! You are so good at making clay charms!!!
Thank you :)

Thank you so much :)
I know I get many comments about length, but feel the real time will allow me to not leave things out. I am so glad you like them the way they are :)
Of course I like them the way they are and if you like to do it that way don't change it :)
Ohburiedagain,
I let them rest about 30 minutes before cutting into them. I also make sure to use at least 1/2 Premo, or more for strength. Sculpey III is too soft :(
Those look really nice. :) I can see them in a whole rainbow of colors in addition to the green.

I am subscribed to you, I need to come back and check out your channel. I am unfamiliar with cold porcelain.
Syed Ash I use cold porcelain all the time I use the homemade version and I made truflles with it it can be roll out suuuper thin, do you buy yours or make it at home?

Doris Gibbs Sinclair use a little baking soda on your hands
Sorry I missed your comment. I hope you were able to find a solution
did you do your nails yourself?
No, I get hard gels, so I go in for a fill every two to 3 weeks. Since my hands are pretty much working hands (not pretty), I like to have them prettier for filming the tutorials
Sometimes I make miniature foods, for my nails and they attach them :)
thats so cool that they do that for.
Erica Odom They have been good to me. I always leave behind a few extras just incase their customers saw my nails and wanted some :)
