Anybody looking to counter this deck should check out Jeff Hoogland's Koga Bounce deck that he uploaded earlier today. TLDR is that you use Weezing to poison Mewtwo EX, use Koga to bounce it back to hand (basically a free retreat that also resets its health) and then have Muk attack for 140 + 10 poison damage at the end of your turn to kill Mewtwo EX in a single turn. Pretty effective if you can draw the combo.
But more important than drawing the combo is having the cards LOL... That's the problem with every card game. Lots of variety and fun, but only if you buy a lot. Pretty hard to have more than 1 top deck without paying considerably.
@@ThallesMan I have mewtwo garde, gengar pidgeot, dragonite deck, marowak ex, etc all from F2P so far. Unfortunately this game really pressures you to reroll if you dont get a good start starting batch of packs, but its the best you can do if you dont want to spend money. I rolled 3 times, took less than 35 mins
Didn't know I needed this but I did. I've been playing pocket too the last few days. Been having alot of fun with a venusaur ex "tank" build with butterfrees in the back for extra healing
I can’t wait for this game, I’m like religiously watching everyone’s content in it. And it’ll only get better. I’ve seen this deck multiple times but also doesn’t seem unbeatable. Regis keep it up.
In only my second ever online battle, I had both a Pidgeot and Mewtwo Ex piling on me. I tell you what, Wigglytuff EX became my favorite card by soloing them.
Eager for this to release because im just not going to really understand how to play until i get my hands on it. Been thinking about trying the gameboy color game to get ready
I've only seen these games and the other ones you played in your previous video, but so far it seems like in the pokemon card game whoever gets the early advantage just runs away with the game and it becomes a forgone conclusion. Is that true? Or is there more potential for games to swing? One of the reasons I enjoy Hearthstone is because there's a lot of room to bounce back from a bad start and you can go a lot of turns into a game and still not be sure who's going to win.
There are decision points where you can outplay with good strategy and there are specific cards that can swing a game that otherwise wasn't in your favour (e.g. Sabrina, Misty or topdecking a Prof Research) but yeah a lot of the time it's can the slower deck survive long enough to set up its payoff before the faster deck can do enough damage to disrupt it? So games can snowball one way or the other pretty quickly. I wish Professor's Research wasn't playable as well, draw 2 is so busted with a 20 card deck that it feels like a lot of games just boil down to who found their draw cards first.
Game 1 6:20 I think you should Sabrina, whichever of Mewtwo or Rialta they bring in you kill. Game over, as either their Mew is dead or they dont have a place to drop a Garde to 4-charge the Mew. (Looks like you kinda did it the turn after I dont think it really mattered in the end).
That was definitely the play. Turn off their Gardevoir engine before they can get it going. Then they promote Chansey, which has a high retreat cost, so you have as much time as you want to build up your second Mewtwo on their bench while they’re still building up their own Mewtwo and have their Chansey stuck in the active. Sabrina instead of Research one turn earlier was checkmate, though it ended up working out.
Hey Regis, I love this content. It is awesome to see you play the Pokémon TCG and here your take on it, even if it is a more dialed down version of the game. I don't think this card exists in Pokemon Pocket, but maybe in future expansions, they might release the Item card Rare Candy. It let's you bypass the stage one and evolve straight into your Stage 2 pokemon. I noticed you could not draw Kirlia in some of your games, lol.
the problem with mewtwo ex deck is when you can't pull mewtwo or the one mewtwo on the field got defeated, we have no good second hitter. im considering jynx but idk
Any chance we could see a water deck? I've seen some other creators have some fun and success with Starmie EX and/or Frosmoth stuff (easy pivots for the former, RNG based control for the latter), would love to see you cover one of those style of decks! I'm especially curious how you feel about the coinflip mechanics in this game so far - admittedly I haven't watched the video yet (obviously) so if you talk about it at some point, I apologize!
I believe I heard him mention in one of the previous videos that he's not the biggest fan of it but I could be wrong as I was really tired when I watched them.
I hope they do something to make the text more readable for viewers of streamed/vod content. I've got the video taking up half of my 49" ultrawide and can still barely read the text (of anything but the active Pokémon card) at 1440p. :(
I need to open to a few more MewTwo packs for Gardevoir. I two MewTwos and the only the basic evolutions of Gardvoir!!! 😫 Having fun a lot the way with only psycho pokemon with MewTwo.
You can but they're pretty inconsistent because of how the energy system works, if you set your deck to generate more than one type it's random each turn.
I don't know how noticeable it is playing, but as a watcher those constant camera shifts and mini zooms were tiring after a while. I prefer the stable play field for Snap, where you can zoom cards and locations at will.
Its similar to the phyiscal TCG but a bit more simple. If you're looking to play out pokemon more like the actual TCG, then go download and play "Pokemon TCG" Its a free online pokemon game that plays 1 to 1 like the physical games does, but digitally. normal pokemon has a bigger deck (60 cards) and bigger bench (5 pokemon). Energies are cards you add to your deck not get for free once per turn. Its also a lot more explosives as in pretty much all competitive decks are able to get out more then one energy per turn and draw/search lots of cards. There is definitely a lot more depth to the physical TCG. Which is nice if you have card games experience/are willing to really learn the game. This game will be better for getting your foot in the door as far as learning the basics. Maybe as time goes on though this game will "power creep" like pokemon has and gets a lot more fast paced and complex.
They are similar, but this basically condenses it down with smaller decks, numbers, and win requirements. But using energy to fuel Pokemon attacks is the same.
Your doing really well at seeing the lines of play! Learning the common pronunciation of Pokemon names may take time. Don’t break up kirlia say it all together and chansey is said chance-e
Mine works super smooth but the animations take a bit of time and have to fully complete before you do the next action, so maybe that is why it looks laggy.
I haven't watched much, but I'm really enjoying playing. After reviewing your comments, I worry you might be in "protect Marvel Snap" mode a little bit. I've seen this a lot when a new game comes along, people go hard attacking the new game because they're so heavily invested in the old one and don't want it to die/suffer. I understand that urge. I think it's okay to like both! I'm pretty sure I'm still gonna like Snap more, it's damn near perfect from a gameplay standpoint, but I'm always having a lot of fun here too right now, and I can thankfully do both!
Can I just point out that the stage 2 on the gardevoir card is referring to Killian. The stage 2 evolution of the evolutionary line. Making Gardevior a stage 3 pokemon. Also I must admit that I could be wrong. Just 95% sure that's how it works
Kinda funny how the decks are larger than Snap but with the duplicates, it actually ends up being fewer overall unique cards in a deck.
Agree. That’s the only downside of traditional deck building. More consistency for less uniqueness.

@@ThallesMan True, but at least that combo doesn't require any EX cards so it's a little more budget friendly than some other combos.

Love that you’re showing the entire deck, maybe a little bigger tho if possible?
regis im going to need some fancy clickbait pictures where you combine the pokemon please
I don't think that's gonna work for this channel. All the cards have unique art styles and such distinct physiques.
@@regispokebinI personally think it doesn't need to look good, just funny!
@@regispokebin im going to cry but will accept it. i love you
the more I'm watching this game, the more I'm realizing how fun pokemon tcg might be, I'm so excited for the launch
Pack openings are cool... but THIS is what I was waiting for.
Pokemon is a great gaming universe. I like this game that is a simplified version of a great game for newcomers like yourself. Love the art!
Used to do this in the normal with malamar as it attaches energy that's discarded to any pokemon, can't wait to actually play this one
Finally, some gameplay! 😊
Really loving the Pokemon TCG Pocket content Regis!!❤
Best deck, you heard it here first people
going to be fun watching you grow in this game for sure.
If snap doesn't change their greedy ways, it's nice to see a good option here. Thank you for creating content on this game
I opened that art too and it was mind blowing seeing it animate
Really enjoying these vids. Would love to see more 😊
When he says “Kirlia” ☠️ Regis is trying though lol.
This is the deck that I’ve been running for a couple days now and unless I draw terrible and the opp draws great I usually win

This mewtwo deck is wild. I have been running dragonite + green ja and that has worked ok. Dragonite + pidgeot might be better for this matchup tho

I'm willing to bet by the time of the full release they only allow 1 EX pokemon per team for things like this.
Nope, that’s the way the TCG is.
Now you gotta try the Articuno only deck
