  • UPDATE (2017): I no longer use this product on myself or other people. I would recommend using something that is more regulated. Better safe then sorry, for that reason I have decided to use other brands (I'm using Tones and Nailite Gentle Gel at the moment).
    . In this video I use Sina builder gel and nail foil forms to create a set of gel nail extensions. Items used in this video: Sina builder gel from banggood, Nail forms from Bornprettystore, Nail primer from Nailiteinc, Nail dehydrator from Sally's, Alcohol 90% from Target, file from Sally's, lint free wipes from Banggood, gel brush from Target, and UV lamp from Nailiteinc. Thank you for watching! :)

    Than you so much for this video! When I ask for "gel" nails they use "acrylic " powder and charge extra! No gel used at all. Hoping to find a salon in California that offers this service.

    I know this tutorial is 6 years old, but I searched so long for a video like this. All nailartist are gonna say ,,You better should not apply gel on a form”. And I’m like ,,BROOOO! I want gel and forms!” I hate tips, because I like to see the gel under my nails...

    Thanks! When I first started doing my own nails, I started with gels. I've been doing them a little over 3 years now. I get less lifting with gel but you have to prep your nails really well, I've noticed that they are more sensitive to build up on the nail plate. If I do get lifting they come up faster then acrylics, but I hardly ever get lifting anymore. I personally feel like I have better control of gel not having to worry about it drying or my brush caking with acrylic. TFW! :)

    HELP! I've found that whenever I use a builder gel I always get lifting on the natural part of my nail (not where I've applied an extension) even after being VERY precise in the set up process. is it the gel I'm using or am I doing something wrong??

      make sure your cuticles are pushed back, lightly buff the natural nail to remove the shine. dehydrate the nail and use a ph primer. i would reccomend using a ph bond if you are continuing to experience premature lifting

    Thank you so much for this video. I watched many different ones before finally deciding between trying acrylics or gels at home - I've had both at one time or another over the years (always paying someone else to do them, of course!). I did silk wraps for a long time on myself and just got tired of all the work/repair work (it just wasn't tough enough for my thin, weak nails). I finally decided to order the Sina kit off of ebay, then I found your video. You are so easy to follow and understand and you've made me more confident about doing this on myself. My kit should be here any day now, and I can't WAIT to do my nails again! Thanks again for sharing this and helping us out! I'll let you know how mine turn out... ;-)

    Hi Kaylee, most dehydrators and primers can be used together and interchanged. The dehydrator sets the nail plate to neutral PH balance and the primer creates a chemical "sticky" layer that allows the acrylic/gel to stick better. I have personally never used IBDs primer, so I can't really tell you if it works well. Hope that helps, thank you for watching! :)

    They do make gel forms but the ones I'm using aren't anything special. It could be the temperature of the gel, if you're working in a warm area the gel can become "runny". I would try cooling down the room and see if that helps. Thank you for watching! :)

      Hi Jill! Most products will note on the package what they recommend for their product. That usually includes cure time and led vs uv. I personally use a 2in1 lamp that has both led and uv. This saves me time for having to switch out lamps as I work with so many different products. I really hope that helps! Thank you for watching 😊

    Great video! 🎉 Do you need to use a gel polish after the application? If yes, does it also need to be cured under the light? Or, can you use any nail polish? Thanks! :

    I applied my form just like this, but somehow gel seeped under the form and got under my natural nail (which was about as long as yours). Do you have any idea what I did wrong? I do have a very strong natural c-curve to my nails with high side walls/lateral folds.
    It was my first time sculpting a nail, normally I just overlay my natural nails but I caught and broke the nail on my seat belt a couple of days ago. It was bugging me having an odd nail out lol.

    Hi,
    Primer penetrates the surface layer of the nail plate and deposit tiny chemical magnets that help the acrylic/gel stick to the nail plate better. Honestly can't think of anything that you could substitute, I would say just make sure you prep your nail REALLY well and hope for the best until you are able to get some. Sorry I couldn't be more help, thank you for watching! :)

    Hi Beanana I love your tutorials you explain the steps so well. Do you think it is easier/better? to use tips for gel and is it a different technique and if you want to add colour or glitter when is the best time? Maybe you could do another tutoril for all us learners he he Love from the UK xx

    • @Beanana711
      @Beanana711  10 лет назад +1

      Hi Carol, I think it depends on the person, personally think it's easier using tips. That way you have a foundation to work off of. I like using acrylic with glitter, I find it less "messy" then using gel but you can use gel to do the same thing. Again, it's just finding what you like but messing around with different options. I'm going to try to get some more tutorials up, did you have something in mind? Let me know and I'll try to add it if I can. Thank you for watching! :)

    • @Beanana711

      Yes, unless the system you are using states otherwise. Most builder gel needs primer and dehydrator. Thank you for watching :)

    Because I saw in another video that uv lamp works to build nail gels and led lamp works for gel polish...

    • @Beanana711
      @Beanana711  8 лет назад

      Yes, most builder gels need UV lamps to cure. You can cure gel polishes in both LED & UV lamps, but it takes longer in the UV lamp (2-3 minutes per layer). For builder gels I use 18-56 watt UV lamps, it just depends what I have out at the time. For gel polish I use 12 watt LED lamp. Thank you for watching! :)

  • @rseneck100
    @rseneck100 8 лет назад

    i used an LED light that i paid 13 dollars for at walmat and it cures the gel perfectly and much faster then any UV lamp. so the led DOES work so much better. just an FYI for people that dont have 200 bucks for the UV lamps.

    • @Beanana711
      @Beanana711  8 лет назад

      Thank you for the info! That's great you found one that works, most don't (or at least the ones I've tried). Do you have the brand and model? (That way it's easier to find the right one if anyone is interested) Also, you can find UV lamps cheaper than $200. My $20 UV lamps works great for curing the gel and fits within the package guidelines for curing. Thanks again, have a great day! :)

    • @rseneck100
      @rseneck100 8 лет назад

      Beanana711 the LED lamp is by sensatioNAIL..... it works very well for me with a shorter curing time. Where did u find a UV lamp so cheap? So far I've only seen the professional ones for $200 and up. I recently had a bad experience at a nail salon that I always trusted. I used to do my nails myself then I got tired of and would go to an Asian salon. They seemed to be in a hurry one day and for some strange reason he cut off all my real nails and then used a nail tip to pry them off to put on tips. He used no binder at all and they were lifting within an hour and within the week they turned green. Screw that. Lol. I'll go only for airbrushing if I want it but I just keep them plain with pink gel now and I keep filling them every week and I have no more problems. I used IBD gel and if that makes a difference I don't know.

    HI, I have never used Star Nail so I'm not sure if it's a product. The Sina gel does have heat spikes but if you use a fan to blow on it it passes quickly. The Sina gel is not a soak off builder gel and would need to be filed when you are changing sets. For soak off builder gels I like Nailiteinc . com brand of soak off builder gel. I'll try to get a acrygel tutorial done soon, but I need to order more extra fine acrylic powder 1st, so it might be a little bit before I can do it. :) TFW!

  • @Beanana711

    If you're looking for something on the cheaper side I would try ebay for a 9w lamp (about 15-20 dollars). If you're looking to make more of an investment then I would go for a 18w or 36w UV lamp (40-100 dollars depending on style). I personally don't like the 9w lamps, but that's because I hate waiting for the cure (you have to add more time curing in a 9w). If you don't mind waiting, then they work great. Hope that helps, thank you for watching! :)

    This technique is amazing for customers who like to pretend to be like dogs and bite the plastic tips from under the product that's been applied to their nails! Great video btw! What's the price range for a service like this cost?

    • @Beanana711
      @Beanana711  7 лет назад

      Honestly, it depends on where you live. Where I'm from it cost $30-50 for a full set using forms. Unfortunately most places around here don't offer it so I would have to travel for it, which is part of the reason I learned to do my own. Thank you for watching :)
