DJI MAVIC 3 CRASHES and LOSES PROP in MID AIR!!! VERY SCARY *Not Clickbait*

- In this video my MAVIC 3 crashed into my AIR 2S and the rear MAVIC 3 propeller brakes off. I had to try to land my MAVIC 3 safely and not crash it into a tree or into the ground. For around 24 seconds I try to fly with only 3 props and land the drone safely.
So this was operator error from what I understand?
Yep I crashed it into my AIR 2S when they were in the air at the same time. I wanted to get slow motion video of the drone hovering. Not worth it lol
for a slip second you can see the AIR 2S at 1:33 when the M3 crashes

Good to see you Adam, what an unusual thing to happen, I would have thought this would have dropped out of the sky, I didn’t know you crashed 2, I know of one. Great post, by the way, I’ve tried the emergency prop kill before, never worked for me either
Thanks!! I just moved back to California and I’ll have more time to make videos. Kansas was fun but so cold and I wasn’t used to spending so much time indoors because of the cold weather so I got homesick and wanted to come back.
Both of the Mavic 3’s I crashed were flying into trees with small branches and no leaves. when this was happening I was like not another tree LOL

I think if you setting 'emergency only' you can only use emergency shutdown stick command only if it show error message on the app.

Does anyone know if the Mavic 3 sinks instantly or if it sinks slowly? I crashed mine in the lake yesterday and know the gps coordinates but it will help the diver if he knows how long it takes the drone to sink. 🤦♂️ It was completely avoidable too. Uggggg!!!

I see that this took place 6 months ago. How did it pan out? Was the Diver able to recover it?

I had 3 DJI props develop cracks from normal flight. Lost my mavic 3 because it crashed after a prop split in half at the joint.

That’s because even Propellers have an “expiration date” or Mileage Limit.
I can’t remember the exact number of Recommended Flights, but, I usually change my Props out fairly regularly, depending apon their usage.
If your Props were brand new, I would contact DJI about the issue.
If there was a defect, they’ll replace Your Drone.

You crash our product much often. This is not just you being poor quality pilot.
It is probably issue with the problematic GNSS / GPS fault like it has happens to many other influencers like you self.
They are most certainly replacing them immediately with MAVIC-3 v2 for better presentation of the very high budget item like CINE model version. This is for to keep influencers like you very happy with DJI.
I wondering if you have the settings for it the EMERGENCY PROPELLER STOP in FLY application.
(the FLY controller application is the lower quality app intended to be only provided with the lowly budget drones like MINI 1&2&SE, The GO-4 applications are far superior to the FLY app. The intention of producing new GO-5 control application was put on shelf due to lack of timeliness. This is how FLY app was change to working with the MAVIC-3 and MAVIC-3-MINI-PRO and with the very successfully AIR-2s quality drone unit. The GO application offers more subtly options like how to operate in emergency situation)
One way you can achieve the motors to stop suddenly regardless of what he is doing.
One other way you can only achieve the motor death when the craft logic circuits are be saying that some type of failure mode is presently occurring.
Under SAFETY optional tab, choosing the ADVANCED options.

thanks I will check the safety shut off settings like you mentioned above. i like to make videos with my real life experiences and some are positive and others not. but I’m definitely a big DJI fan and I’ve purchased almost every DJI model with my own $$ whenever the new ones come out. thanks for your time and advice!

i know it is 🙃. most of the crashes have happened near trees with thin branches. I’ve been trying to fly much safer.
How are those Freewell ND Filters?
I’m a big fan! I used the CPL and ND/PL 16 the most.

I fail to see how you could have lost one entire propeller and have the drone remain in the air. It would have had thrust from only three propellers at best and if that happened it would flip with the propless motor leading the way.
With the default setting, the CSC works ONLY if the drone thinks it has suffered an emergency. To have a mid air motor stop at you command you need to switch the response to "Anytime" or what ever the appropriate name is.
Assuming the drone behaves like other FLY app using drones be aware that this is probably dangerous as it is likely that the motors will stop if the position is held for 2 seconds and that is all too easy to trigger. Several drones have been lost due to this (MavicPilots threads).
You might like to post the flight log or the link/URL of the PhantomHelp logviewer that you show over on Mavic pilots and see if anyone there thinks the drone could have been flown with one prop completely missing.
right?! i would have never thought it could stay in the air with only 3 props. i'm happy that it was able to and that my Mavic 3 didn't break!!

@@AerialMotionPhotography oh snap that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I really feel like the mavic 3 obstacle avoidance system is not reliable at all and is false advertising itself. There been to many videos I’ve seen of people crashing because the obstacle avoidance isn’t working while they weren’t in sports mode. This is crazy because this is the mavic 3! It’s supposed to be the most advanced. My air 2s obstacle avoidance system is pretty amazing. I’ve own the spark, pro, air, air 2, air 2s and their obstacle avoidance never gave me a problem. I would rather have a reliable front back bottom and top sensors then a unreliable 360 sensors. Anyway I hope everything works out for you with the mavic 3 and they fix their unreliable system.
@@floatstudios1759 98%, or more, of those crashes were due to Pilot Error, just like this one was.
I’m not picking on Adam, or anything, but, he should have never tried this in the first place. He was either trying to fly BOTH Drones, OR, he was leaving one, or the other, unattended/without a Pilot, at various times. Never a good idea.
As for the other crashes, people tend to “over-trust” these Obstacle Avoidance Systems. They’re only as accurate as the environment they’re used in, will allow them to be. Shadows, reflections, and overall light conditions, all play a role in the accuracy of these systems, and can therefore change dramatically, from location, to location.
I own the DJI Mavic 3 Classic (along with almost every other DJI Drone, as well) and find it’s Obstacle Avoidance System to be quite amazing, compared to earlier models.
Bruh it flys with three props. That’s a first for a DJI product
