Very informative video, the music is WAY over the top, and totally superfluous
Yeah Ive learnt from this one to tone down the music and have it more of a softer background ambient sound. Glad you enjoyed the content.
The music is horrendous and unnecessary, but your little Chinese lathe is very nice, it looks like it's a Warco WM180.
I've always got respect for those that have a metal cutting lathe at home to persue their interests, especially those that spend time to "bond with the lathe" as you said you have.
A DRO fitted to measure the movement of the lathes carriage is very useful and worthwhile. I have been meaning to do the same to my larger Warco lathe for years, maybe after watching your vid I will just get the heck on with it.
Been using it now for good month or so and it has completely changed the way I work with the lathe, Im alot more happier that I can get accurate measurements and can make multiple parts that are consistent.
Yeah its a Warco WM180, take the time and fit one :)
If you still have this lathe... turn the black box sensor on back of lathe up side down and you measurements/ reading will increase as you go towards the chuck.
Thanks for the video! Looks like a great upgrade.
I just picked up a dro similar to yours, I'm intending on copying your install. Thanks for sharing!
No problem, really does give you that step up to your machining, was actually using it yesterday to machine myself a solid tool post mount.
Ahora toca otro para el carro transversal!!!
Nice addition and sweet little lathe.
Kicking myself for not buying the DRO optional extra with lathe purchase, you live and learn.
If you needed to remove the chuck to use mt3 collets, will you hit the end of the digital scale? Thanks
I don't own a set of MT3 collects so I couldn't say whether it would be an issue or not.
does the display turn off after some minutes automaticaly?
Nooooo lol I've left it on many a time. Saying that, the battery life is pretty good.
thanks for showing this.i have a similar lathe and i think i ll put a similar scale.how do you like yours so far,can i get a link for it plz
It's made a massive difference for me, use it all the time now don't think I could get by without one. Ive put a link in the video description, Digital linear scale.
@@dtaylo4517 can t wait for it to arrive.do you consider putting a 150mm for the Y axis or..?
Nice
What's with the poofy gloves?
Keep your hands nice and supple
Our Robert has never laddered his wife's tights with the hard skin on his fingers and incurred the wrath that follows lol!😂
NİCE!!
At 7:01 : priceless.
I try to steer clear of the grips but sometimes they are the only tool that will get the job done.
