In the distance they could see someone near the water moving like a dancer as they came closer to the figure they saw that it was a girl picking up starfish and gently throwing them into the ocean. "Young lady" they asked the girl "why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" "Because the sun is up and the tide is going out and if I do not throw them in they will die" she said. "But young lady do you not realize there are many miles of beach and thousands of starfish? You cannot possibly make a difference." The girl listened politely then bent down, picked up another starfish, gently through it in the sea and smiled "it made a difference to that one. "
