Whoa!! That thing is literally a fucking beast of a sea monster. Looks like something off the movie Beowulf when he was swimming in the sea naked. Lol.
This large, and very powerful species of piranha is not considered dangerous to man in the wild state, but it can deliver extremely painful wounds. It is said that a mature S. Rhombeus is capable of severing a man's hand at the wrist in two or three bites, and given the potential size of this large and very powerful species, it's hard to believe this is a gross exaggeration.
Yeah... taking about the damage that one piranha only can make, you are totally right. But we have to remember that pirayas aren't found alone in the nature, they are always in groups of 20 or more!!! Imagine the damage that this cute group can do to you! hahahaha But of course, if we take into consideration only one individual, when a rhombeus atacks, bye bye arm, leg, feet, nose.... suhashuahuhuahuahusahusas
@pro68camaro Not all piranhas are the same there are people that have piranhas that they are scared of a human but some people have piranhas that the last thing you want to do is put your hands in
I think it's funny how people react to this because of the piranha's reputation. The're (Well, most species of piranha) normally really docile around living things (or etleast around humans) under these conditions: •Starving •The living thing is paniking or in a stressing situation, •And the living thing is either injured or in a certain situation.
haha just read 1st attempt in the description, last one aswell?? so oke this is not a smart thing though people feed their snakeheads buy hand too but how do you maintain the tank if you are not supposed to stick you're hand in??
beautiful rhom? i recently saw a small one at a pet store and would love to have one but they just get too big. how big is yours and how big is that tank?
get it! rhombs grow very very slow.. I had a 3 inch one that grew in a 55 gallon to about 5.5 inches and it took 5 years to grow a few inches.. yeah smaller the tank slower the growth
so because you own piranhas you are an expert on them? have you tested or witnessed any of your piranhas biting through human bones? and yes in a tank that small a piranha of that size could move fast enough to reach your hand before you could remove it, but so could most tropical fish bought at a pet store. go on google and look up the amount of pressure it takes to break through human bone and the amount of pressure of a single piranha bite.
very beautiful fish no matter what other people say, I envy your fish, even though more surface area would be nicer for such a big fish. does it eat only meat or is it omnivorous?
when they get this big they become oafs and lose speed and aggression, they are more scavengers at this point in life but mess around and you'll lose a finger
Black piranha,no doubt lol was thinking of getting one but my gal won't have my massive tank In the living room with just one fish,it took me long enough to get my reds:^)
I had a black diamond piranha that would hand feed. He was 8 inches. He knew what the food was and where my hand was. He was fearless but I accidently killed him and now I have a 6 inch that i have had for a year and he is just now opening up to me. I think he has trust issues.
Your tank is so beautiful, your fish is absolutely gorgeous, but OMG!!! you have got some mega balls of steel!!! Your hand movements made the impression to me like you were just going: here boy, come on, here fishy fishy.... wow.... tip: don't use the hand you write with :P.... can't wait to see a clip where the hand feeding is a success. Got one yet?
Yes, and I saw another show that showed a random bites force rating of 60+ pounds from an 8 inch long, 2 pound black piranha, making it the most powerful bite force (pound for pound) of any animal in history. They get much larger than 8 inches, so you do the math. Also, I hate when people say piranhas behave a certain way. Certain species behave different from others. Red bellies are shy compared to the aggressive black piranha. It will certainly take a finger off with pleasure.
Respect, That's an amazing fish ... and looks very very healthy too i keep red bellies and i know how hard the blacks can be. Great example of a black rom
use freshwater miracle mud in normal miracle reservoir with deltec carbon and blue sponge and white pads and water wisteria plants in reservoir with co2 gas and that will keep your tank very crystal clear, as well as bring out colour in fish and will keep nitrates down at level 5 or 10, all works very well for me the best filter ever used. look how crystal clear my tank is on my freshwater miracle mud reservoir videos
i really wouldnt risk that. first off its very possible that he doesnt realize that its actually your arm and not another fish, and that shaking motion might be taken as a fighting posture. anyway, that is quite a beautiful fish and i also love the setup.
the only negative about this fish is you cant keep dem in schools but then again, the size dey get you would need a 200 to 300 gallon tank for like three
nice fish! Just a quick question. I have a 75 gallon. I was planning on getting 2 eheim 2217. Do you think this will be good enough filtration to have my water be as crystal clear as yours?
@@hassannasir1938 It’s definitely a black piranha, also know as Serrasalmus rhombus. It not a pacu, pacus eat plants while this thing is being fed fish meat. Also you can tell by the shape of the head and jaws, just compare an image of a black piranha with this fish and a black pacu. You will clearly see that this is definitely a piranha, it’s head looks nothing like that of a pacu. Also yes black piranhas can grow this big it is non uncommon for them to grow over 18 inches in length and over 8lbs.
@BulldogLacrosse Well that's true if it's a well fed piranha then it's less likely to nip at him, but still I wouldn't even take the 70/30 90/10 whatever percentage chance it is of getting your finger skinned lol
Yes, your right about that but, pirayas are less aggressive than the rhombeus. When where talking about rhombeus/black piranha, where talking about massive damage right there.
lol, no this is a different tank. I put a turtle in the tank and it had a disease on it or something. Not the smartest thing to do. Now Im very careful about anything going into the tank.
be carefull, even thoug he looks calm he could suddenly snap at you and take your fingers or even worse ,chunks of your arm,. when these fish attacks it happens very fast
Piranhas are not the animals you see in the piranha movies there actually nice animals and rarely go after humans they just eat anything meaty that you put in the tank but not your hand(they're afraid)
Yes, your right again about pirayas swim in groups in nature but, one thing you need to keep in mind that pirayas are members of the genus called "pygocentrus." That means, that they are all closely related to nattereri, cariba, caribe, ets.. Members of these genus are very shy, and very skittish. But the blacks are just too aggressive, and they are all meant to be alone since all are ambush hunters, instead of a shoaling hunter.
@Tazzarinaa piranhas cant bite through human bone. its unlikly he would suffer anything more then a small gash. people rarely ever die by piranha's and will only be able to be taken down by a large school of the fish that would kill by ripping the skin from the bone.
You lot don't know your Piranhas from your Pacus. Look at the bottom jaw it distinctly sticks out more, so is a Serrasalmus Rhobeus, not a Pacu, where the jaw line is more rounded and pointed. By the way very cool fish, I have a shoal of pygocentrus nattereri.
I wouldn't put my hand in that tank, don't be fooled by it's size by thinking its slow and clumsy, it could probably bite you before you could take your hand out the tank.
im planing to add one of them(2'/3') to my *monster tank ...just started tank so i hope she be ok whit all the fish...most of my fish are 3' just stingray is 6' nd *Dragon 7'.Is any around here whit this fish mixed whit other ones?...
Dude, you got tons of balls doing that to one of the most aggressive piranha species ever!!
🤣🤣 Ah yes u guts of balls buddy, black big piranah bitting force that it can cut ur finger tip itself..
Dont try this again & again u dumbass
Lol ez
In captivity bro,,,
Or stupidity 😅
There is often a thin line between bravery and stupidity... An intelligent man fears, a stupid one is brave...
He's like, "Man, just drop it already!"
Piranha says, "Dispel the rumor, dispel the stereotype. Focus, I've got to focus"
Whoa!! That thing is literally a fucking beast of a sea monster. Looks like something off the movie Beowulf when he was swimming in the sea naked. Lol.
The bigger the piranha, the less agressive it is... The most dangerous piranhas are the smaller ones, like piraya (red bellied)...
Sir, I must say you have more guts than the most bravest men in the world.
This is what we can call "hand feeding...."
respect.....
@Red Gaming video it's pirahna not pacu oh god
@Red Gaming video a pacu is not full black and also pacu does not have red eyes
Ths is from 12 years ago but with good quality video. Love it
I'm two months behind you. What a awesome fish!
I love how the piranha slowly inches closer to your hand.
Yeah... taking about the damage that one piranha only can make, you are totally right. But we have to remember that pirayas aren't found alone in the nature, they are always in groups of 20 or more!!! Imagine the damage that this cute group can do to you! hahahaha

@pro68camaro Not all piranhas are the same there are people that have piranhas that they are scared of a human but some people have piranhas that the last thing you want to do is put your hands in
There are some species of piranhas that can become even bigger than this one.
I really like this tank. I hope you respond and tell me.how he's managed to live with those small fishes. planning on doing the same with my jardini.
When a fish has a certain size it stops going for super small fish. Its not worth the effort. Its like as if a tiger would actively hunt cockroaches.
All I could think was.....get your hand out of the water 😅😅
I think it's funny how people react to this because of the piranha's reputation. The're (Well, most species of piranha) normally really docile around living things (or etleast around humans) under these conditions:

the piranhas in the pygo family can shoal in a large enough tank. The Serra family however have to be kept alone unless they are Geryi
This piranha can cut your finger, if he bites, i think they are scared to big natures such human, i think in captivity isn't dangerous to human.
haha just read 1st attempt in the description, last one aswell?? so oke this is not a smart thing though people feed their snakeheads buy hand too but how do you maintain the tank if you are not supposed to stick you're hand in??

yes the Hatchets are up top, then a bunch of tetras. bleeding hearts, black skirts, rummy nose, glowlights, neons
If I was piranha, I would of taken the hand it looks a lot more juicier than that piece of fish.
Wait !!!! Why it didn't attack his hand submerged underwater ?
I made it from sprayfoam then painted it with polester resin.
so do the tetras help clean up his mess or are they just for show?
hey man just a que what are those small fishes around... are they get along well with ur black piranha??
so because you own piranhas you are an expert on them? have you tested or witnessed any of your piranhas biting through human bones? and yes in a tank that small a piranha of that size could move fast enough to reach your hand before you could remove it, but so could most tropical fish bought at a pet store. go on google and look up the amount of pressure it takes to break through human bone and the amount of pressure of a single piranha bite.
the fishes face when it turned to the camera lmao!
Why RUclips recommending this after 13 years? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dude seriously
dude has balls wat if it attacked
that pirahna looks badass
It's because they are more vulnerable when they are eating. They view us as a threat when they are eating.
very beautiful fish no matter what other people say, I envy your fish, even though more surface area would be nicer for such a big fish.
does it eat only meat or is it omnivorous?
Hi can you tell me where can I get the background
when they get this big they become oafs and lose speed and aggression, they are more scavengers at this point in life but mess around and you'll lose a finger
Of all the piranhas Ive seen so far, this one, is an evil looking one. O_O
Why is this on my recommended... no complaints but this is 13 years ago.
The prequel to your new nickname? ( Stumpy )
Black piranha,no doubt lol was thinking of getting one but my gal won't have my massive tank In the living room with just one fish,it took me long enough to get my reds:^)

do u still have this monster? ifso how is he
The next thing -It eats that hand
D u keep him since a baby? Thx
as juveniles 29-55 will work but when they get bigger...say 8-9 inches should be in a minimum 75-125 gallons
Last fish had this flesh.. Fish got stuck in hook..
Now she is thinking, is it same?
Do u still have that hand??
Your tank is so beautiful, your fish is absolutely gorgeous, but OMG!!! you have got some mega balls of steel!!! damnn
rich ass white boi
dass da nicest tank i ve ever seen dude
your tank so nice :D & your "black" is really good fish ! I wish i have one :)
Can I breed red cherry shrimp and feed them to my piranha?
Eat It Eat It Eat It !!!
Any Avenged sevenfold fans here?

Is she still alive? Its been 11yrs
hi mate what black p is t thanx nice fishhat
you my friend you got some guts i can tell ya that
i have a feeling that that fish is alot bigger than it looks on camera
I WANT ONE.
....but i wouldn't put my hand in the tank.
wich izz you're favorite of you're pets ?
Salute to u hand feeding piranha real hero🙏
the only negative about this fish is you cant keep dem in schools but
then again, the size dey get you would need a 200 to 300 gallon tank for like three
what r those little fishes swimming in there?
How money black piranha ?
wtf did u feed it
Why?? Why take the chance of losing a finger? I just can't seem to understand the point of hand feeding the fish.
does he ever eat those small fish or too small for him to be his meal? And what are they?
Something Fishy they are tetras and too small for a good meal. the odd time I would see him snap at one but rarely give chase.
Steve W did you put it with him when he was already too big or when he was small?
Steve W thanks for responding by the way.
@driftkingFWD
He attacks 6" pacus as soon as they hit the water, sometimes creating a tidal wave out of the tank.
@Tazzarinaa finger? you mean an arm
whats the diff in white and silver and redbelly prihanas
Nice fish but I wouldn't recommend doing that the fish could bite you unintentionally and you'll lose a chunk of flesh
nice fish! Just a quick question. I have a 75 gallon. I was planning on getting 2 eheim 2217. Do you think this will be good enough filtration to have my water be as crystal clear as yours?
Daaaam.. That is on big-A piranha dude!! I would love to own one of those someday.

this is a Piranha (Serrasalmus Rhombeus), it only eats meat
and lots of it.
when i have started this video...i say...Holy shit ! What is this!

What a remarkable creature.A very beautiful fish with extraordinary power. If that bad boy was hungry the steak will disappear in no time.
what you think happens if he goes for it :)
You tend to know your fish after u have them so.long plus he has plenty of food swimming around.. I.like though
