The light bulb:
I literally have to keep taking my eye's off the video and walk a few steps because my knees get so weak watching this!!! Frfr
This is totally crazy! 🤯 I really never could do that! Huge respect
You can hear his breath trembling while just being at the top. Being above the clouds and doing this shit is mad terrifying
Just the thought that every time he unclips the safety harness he has a chance of falling is terrifying
I’ve climbed a 3 feet ladder once
You legend
Amazing feat man
You absolute mad man
Rocket man.👍👍
Superman
just looking down off that elevator had chills going down my spine
Imagine climbing all the way up there just to find out you forgot the replacement bulb.
Man! So much respect ✊ for the people that do this! And what happens if he has a dizzy spell or passes out for a minute or two! So, many variables!!!
i would love to try that. would feel safer if the pegs were pointing slightly upwards tho
Fr right the way it was set up was sketchy
That would make life to easy for that 40k
Parachutes are still a thing.
@@pmilley88 they don't wear parachutes
@@norfangl3480 I’d wear one anyways
Me: I don't really have a fear of heights.
Me after this video: I have a very intense fear of heights.
Lmao..............Z
Thank you for filming your job and what risk are involved.
Imagine he reached to the top but forgot the light bulb
Much respect! That was a tough climb and those step pegs do break off from time to time I've seen them missing before on my way up a mono-pole
How did you get started with this job?
@@jerolinhoclimb trees
Respect to do this job and the panic when a peg falls off or is missing holy
Holy hell that looks so hard , thanks for sharing man was fun watching
This video calms me every time
The person that built the tower: Congrats you made it
Yes!! This is insane and i really respect what this man doing. But can we appreciate the cameraman too? He's doing his job well
The camera is attached somewhere on his body.....maybe his helmet.
@@tonytitado6478 I think you missed the joke
This dude changing light bulbs for heaven
😆😆😆😆
God: “My lightbulb has burnt.”
Lightbulb Chad: “Say no more.”
There is not enough money in the world for me to do something like that. Respect to this man
It is the mightiest job I ve ever seen , I cant imagine decreasing O² levels , adrenaline and all the human needs to handle ... I watch all the video with respect
Had that tingling sensation in my balls when he started climbing. They better pay this guy a lot. Crazy job
$40k for 2 climbs a yr. $40k for 2 days of work.
@@jamesfoster3488 He might only climb *that* tower once every six months, but it's not the only tower. Most tower engineers service several towers per week and rack up thousands of climbs over the years.
Bro, it takes a special breed for that. No way I could even fathom attempting that.
This is terrifying, I just started as a tower technician for cell towers and I can’t believe there isn’t a safety climb on the last stretch.
Man.. I can’t image how much money u get only to change a light bulb.. that’s just crazy..
And why did I always think that they get down by just jumping off with a parachute?
And also.. seeing the sun going down is just so pure.. it’s so beuatiful
I remember when i was a teenager my friend and i climbed 200+ ft up a feed mill platform. Straight ladder all the way up but the floor hatches were locked so we had to climb around them. It was intense. But this... This is just insane
You should watch the Russians that climbing cranes on top of buildings in china.
And we still haven’t come up with an easier way to do this? Insane
can just the bulb's base have lift? so it can move up and down
@@orakatokansek and then you gotta repair the lift
I'm sure a helicopter can be used, but it's somewhat more dangerous to the worker and very very expensive per bulb change.
Certainly a lot faster.
I'd imagine a big drone with extendable arms being able to quickly change it and for less cost.
Edit: something like this
ruclips.net/video/T6kaU2sgPqo/видео.html
My dad climbs these and comm towers. These 1000 to 2000 footers usually come with a small elevator, and then you'll have to climb the rest of the way.
A very high paying job, also one of the most dangerous jobs in the entire world. My dad fell 25 feet and survived and went right back to it six months later.
These men are known as "Tower Dogs."
Very brave and hard working dudes (:
Why is there spikes at the top??? Who climbing this
I would love to know as well. That last Part seems not safe :o
@@gehmstoneethe spikes are probably to stop birds from resting at the top and obstructing the light or leaving feces and damaging the parts
moment you set your foot on land has gotta be the most relaxing moment ever
It just gets more wild as he goes up. When he climbs from the tower to the orange mast that's when it gets real and at the same time a gorgeous view, WOW!!!
He almost falls at one point... Hopefully he has a parachute too LOL
If my man falls those clips are sliding right off those pegs. I hope he’s got a parachute on.
Bro faxxxx that shit ain’t safe at all
Those pegs are basically rods, jeez. Guessing thats why he is secured on both sides. If he slips one direction the other clip is sliding in towards the tower. If he then swings the other way though...💀
@@Acaerwen coming from a tower climber 😃, The end of those pegs are much more pronounced in person than the video shows. Very little chance of it sliding off but still possible
@@brycecockrell4042 is it a fun job? Do a lot of young people apply?
@@nicesmack9309 It's terrifying. If you find this type of work fun or really interesting, you should seriously do it. You can get paid a lot. Like the guy in the video who gets paid 40k to do this twice a year. 40k FOR 2 DAYS OF WORK!!!
props to the people who built it
15:20 “oh sh*t”. Commentary right there
4:06 yup as soon as I saw the pegs and that tall mast, that’s the absolute MAXIMUM limit for me. Being that high up is one thing surrounded by metal or climbing a ladder, but when your open and you have 2 inch tall heads on those pegs, that’s it for me
Yep! I rather climb hydro poles that have waaaay better pegs! they actually are curved! SMH
Tht “oh shit” made me realize how human he was boa was just scared asl thought he was outta there😭🤦🏾♂️
Nah that part made me terrified, i thought i was gonna witness a death
Watching this gives me the tingles
Well now imagine building this thing!
Oh damn! I forgot to bring the new bulb.
He did. Ita in his back pocket. Let him grab it just... Woops. Dropped it
Not only is he brave but also the people that build that tower.
