And my grandma(Rest in peace...) made a black mask for me and my brother. When I hear something about Zorro,I feel that strong connection with my grandmother.

@@callzz17 my deepest condolences man 🙏🏻 I also used to dress up like Zorro for halloween! I remember using old cowboy boots and wearing all black. Had my aunt make a cape and my uncle at the time got me a zorro sword and mask it was such good memories!
Great performance. Spanish guitar is the art of playing the same Am, G, F, E7 circle in different ways and still sound cool after like 30 times.
That sequence is indeed called "Andalusian cadence" ... for very good reasons.

The fight melody has been stuck in my head since I had last seen Zorro which would be over 10 years ago. All of the music from the two movies (I can’t remember if there is a third), are so memorable and beautifully crafted. I miss my childhood

For those who are interested in history, El Zorro was a subject of the Spanish crown as he was born in New Spain in what now is Mexico. Lots of history behind the song!)
He is from the the peblo of los Angeles in the Alta California region of New Spain, not the Mexico region of New Spain. So he would be a Californio, not Mexican.

Zorro would have been born in Alta California under the Spanish, so he would have been a Spanish citizen, in fact he was a Don under Spanish rule. Then when the Mexican Government took over, he would have been a Mexican citizen, but then when the region went to the US he would have been an American citizen... But the term adopted by people like Zorro, born in that time and region was "Californio", because there is a difference between people in Mexico and California, similar to how the people in Texas called themselves Tejano...
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the people living in the land taken over by the US, were no longer Mexican, just like they stopped being Spaniards just a few years earlier.
Most of the people in the region at the time didn't consider themselves Mexican, they used variations of Californio to describe themselves, and as is evident with men like Major Vallejo that a lot of people in the region disliked the Mexican Government at the time. Which explains why California turned so quickly from Mexican control to American control with very little conflict overall. In fact there is still a vibrant Californio community in the state, descendants of the Original Californios, and they do not consider themselves to be Mexican.
I am a Latino who was born and raised in California and learned alot about the California Revolution, the Californios, Alta California and the history of the region... I even consider myself a "Nuevo Californio", because I have seen the change from the California I grew up in to the modern horrible version of my home state...
Trying to rewrite history and pretending its real, only works with people who don't actually know the history.
So while the fictional Zorro would have been a subject of Mexican rule for a very short time, he was never Mexican, he was a Californio.

If Californios wanted to be Mexican, they left Alta California and went to Mexico... many did... most didn't...

California was Spanish, long before it was Mexican, and even then the people living here didn't consider themselves Mexican.

And as for your silly insult basically calling the people who happily rejected Mexican enslavement by using a term we here in the states would often, if wrongly, as an "uncle tom", just shows your ignorance and inability to learn anything beyond what your prejudice allows.
Mexico lost California, Texas and the rest of it's South West holdings, through incompetent leadership, incompetent government and corruption... Suck it up... History and the people who happily continue to reject your revisions don't care about your hurt feelings.
Considering how corruption is still the rule of law in Mexico, perhaps the US should have kept what it captured in the Mexican Wars... Mexico city could be a Capitol of a US state, with all the social, technological and economic advantages that comes with... Rather than the Capitol of a struggling nation being trampled by drug cartels... Funny enough my Mexican cousins mentioned that idea to me...

Zorro was a beloved movie for us. My father was Glaswegian, but he had Spanish ancestry and the flamenco style really appealed to him. So, the beginning of the movie was such a wonderful experience for him, and for me to see him enjoy it so much.
