Most impressive. My father, Caio Domingues, who was Brazilian, had one of the biggest collections of Flamenco music in Brazil, about 1,500 LPs and coutless rolls of magnetic tape he played in his Revox reel-to-reel. For the last 25 or 30 years of his life, he went to a Flamenco festival in Cordoba, Spain in the month of May, where he amassed most of his records. He also became personal friends with the legendary dancer Antonio Ruiz Soler, who dined in our home every year in the 1960's when he toured with his troupe and came to Rio, where we lived. Back then, as a small child, I had no idea how important he was, despite attending every presentation of his at the Municipal Theater in Rio, the fanciest concert hall in the ciuntry back then, I only knew he and I were born on the same day of the year, November 4.

Excellent job Ben!
commonly mistaken with asturias leyenda
Also, many of Albeniz's pieces ,originally for piano, sound best on guitar. Almost as if they were composed with guitar in mind.
Michael Battista the moog Transcription that is based on the original piano version is so good my dad and I based our versions off the piano and moog one. Pepe Romero did it great tho
Pretty sure Andre Segovia had a bit of influence in Malaguena
ya boy You tried to hide but failed... and why don’t you and your dad post up a video of your “guitar greatness” instead of downplaying others abilities. If you’re so great let’s see a video of it until then you’re just running your mouth behind the safety of your keyboard.I dare you to post up anything on your no content troll RUclips channel. Actually use that channel for something rather than trolling people and post up something. That way, you’ll prove me wrong and get the last laugh instead of me getting all the laughs at your expense because I’m right and you know it.
A TRUE GENUINE GENIUS, and a genius TALENT lost to our world.
Rest in peace Dear Maestro Ben. You will have my sincerest respect as a guitarist-performer --- always and forever. 🤎
Day 2 of SimplyGuitar
RIP Ben Woods. God bless you. Thank you for your music I keep listening almost everyday.

Heavenly wings ,not just hands talking to our souls A gift from GOD❤❤❤
im still crying after his death. I cant believe it Ben. You were my best role model andd I always wanted to meet you but I never got the chance. I will miss you a lot. 😢🎸🙏
This is probably the most faithful flemenco interpretation to the original on youtube. Gives master pianist a run for their money. Absolutely awesome.
Coming back to this video to first hear of this mans passing. Truly a master of the guitar, seeing the way he plays is so inspiring and empowering, truly an ode to the human spirit and ability. Rest in peace ❤
This man is the Pathfinder of modern Flamenco world💪💪
Que belleza! Me encanta la Malagueña! Que viva España! Y Olé!
Coming from a person with 0 musical background (me), this dude sounds like he’s 3 people playing 3 guitars all at once
That's the case with flamenco most of the times. Thanks to the fingerpicking you can pick the base notes with your thumb while doing picado or strumming with your other fingers at the same thing
"Arpeggio"
People don't understand... it's takes a lot and a lot of time and dedication to master a musical instrument...Great piece of work ❤️
I'm pretty sure everyone understands this.
I am Spanish, I have heard this song by great artists several times, but the quality of this man is simply inhuman, the best version so far.
keep on listening you can find better...
No sabía que el autor de este vídeo había muerto. Descanse en Paz. Espero que esté tocando la guitarra allá donde esté.
My piano student is playing an easy arrangement of this song, but I asked that he watch a Flamenco guitarist to hear the magic of this song. Love this arrangement and your playing is incredible. BRAVO!
One of the best Malagueña version I’ve ever hear . He has master it with his own fingers style play give it more lively , more soulful.
0:50 it feels like my soul came out from my body with a matador's costume
That's the best part for me
This felt like magic, the exact feeling when I listened my teacher’s playing the first lesson 😁
This is the greatest performance of this song I've ever heard! Absolutely amazing! Fantastic!!!
The chords I just witnessed were glorious
Sorry... I only have two hands
So does he; it is what he _does_ with those hands that is so far above what you or I could hope to do.
@@davidsandrock7826 it was a joke old man
@@davidsandrock7826 damn.. ..get some fresh air dude
Go to Chernobyl, you can get extra two hands.
@@davidsandrock7826 Maybe the reason that you think that way is because Boomers from your generation were made to believe that they didn't have to work hard for anything and that it should come easily and automatically? Just a theory.
I was just looking up different styles of spanish/latin music and this actually made me tear up. I play guitar and for me it is my favorite instrument. Gracias Spain for inventing such a beautiful instrument!!
No te ralles, que parte de nuestra cultura, como español que soy te digo que viene de árabes, así que gracias a los países árabes XD
Ahhhg! Man… I would watch him all the time, and when he would teach and give you points to how to get into this style, and man.. I always loved flamenco music, but he made it seem so close and in your grasp, just practice. 😢 miss this man. I didn’t know he passed until a few weeks ago. It’s just very saddening, much love and condolences to everyone. His teaching and music will live on. He is just one of a kind.
To the dude that said “I wanna see u play chicken in the corn” I looked it up and I’m impressed. I applaud you good sir.
This got to be one of the best pieces I’ve ever heard in my life. So menacing, romantic and expressive.
When you're learning guitar by yourself for months, and that u see this video, and understand that you are only an amateur.
Dude ive been learning guitar for years and i cant do that😂
Will Rogich define learning?
@@floridafire7 Active practice and study of music theory. That help?
I’ve played guitar for 3 years now and I can play the tabs but not the strumming lol
Dude I've been playing for 5 years and I could still never to anything like this.... The hardest thing I've learned was the solo to nightmare by a7x
RIP Mr Woods, you were an incredible talent taken from us too soon
After listening this masterpiece I have a rose in my mouth and my hair is much longer🕺💃
This video was the first one I saw on your channel, like three or four years ago, I was a beginner and during all this time I practised thinking one day I might play like you
RIP Ben, you were and you will stay my guitar figure, the guy who developped my passion for the flamenco guitar ❤
buen viaje amigo genial. y gracias.
Rest in Peace Ben..you will be always an ispiration
My Armenian ass grew up on this song all the way across the world. The Mask of ZoRo was my childhood man. I owe my love of music to this 🔥❤️.
It's amazing how anyone who pays attention can see how this influenced heavy metal.
Yes!
REST IN PEACE Ben woods ,you will be missed 😢
