They should have had Rock help Cody keep the BL out of the match, Cody wins, and you set up maybe a year long feud for Rock and Roman. Next year is the head of the table match.
What we have is rushed drivel. The Rock is completely tone deaf on what the people want. Which right now is Cody v Roman. I'm not gonna lie and say Rock v Roman isn't a dream match as well. But the timing is booty cheeks. It's a pathetic attempt to keep Vince out of the spotlight and keep the WWEs name clean. And it's backfiring.

Been following WWE again after years away. I was a huge fan of The Rock in the 90s, but this ain't it chief! His cutting the line has really highlighted his selfishness, a bad look for a dude who became famous for earning his way. Now he won't let others have the same opportunity he was given.
This. Exactly this. There is a huge potential hard-core audience like us that they are alienating to try and draw mainstream views for this one show. They are going to sink the company if they are not careful.
I was at Birmingham and the crowd was shock that Cody said that and a lot of people was confused and when the rock came we just was happy to see the rock but after the camera went off everybody who watched the dark matches went quite and a lot of people was pissed when they realized that wwe just did Cody wrong

wild, because i was there too and remember laughing in the moment at how (at least) the non-floor seat crowd seemed to be louder and more alive for the dark matches, in particular the sami and drew one, than the actual tv matches.
the pop for the rock did come across as just a general amazement we were getting the rock, true, though.
Yeah a lot of people don’t seem to realize that once the initial shock wears off even casual crowds will start to boo. This doesn’t end well if they push ahead lol.

I was at NXT Vengeance Day last night in Clarksville and yeah every time The Rock was on the screen in some kind of commercial and when Ava was on screen the boos were quite prevalent along with “We Want Cody” chants

I will never go entirely off of fan reactions in an arena as a feel of support for "who they want". It's an instant reaction, with no time to think about what they really want. They cheer for Vince McMahon whenever he comes out and bow at his feet, for fuck sake. It's The Rock. Of course they'll cheer for seeing him at first, but now they're finally realizing: ".... hold on, what just happened?"

@Cultaholic Wrestling, what if WWE is swerving us to get people behind Cody? What if the plan is still Cody versus Roman? Because leading up to this some people online seem like they were sick of Cody, & didn’t care if he finished his story or not. Because of the length of the story, it seem like people were losing interest. They could have done this to get people interested in Cody finishing his story and getting people behind him. WM is also a 2 night event now let’s not forget that.
Okay, but to be fair the whole Bloodline story was built around Roman vs Rock. They were supposed to do it two years ago.
So then don’t book Cody to win the Royal Rumble then

Wrestlemania was already sold out and how many non wrestling fans do you think are gonna tune in just for the rock?

Here's how I'd book it. On Raw tonight, have Cody come out to face down Seth and talk about how he respects the work he's put in as a fighting champion etc. but continue with something like "but something about this just doesn't quite sit right with me". Have him talk about the lineage of the WWE title and throw out a challenge to unify everything at Mania in a winner-takes-all tournament. That way we can get Cody and Seth opening night 1 with Roman and Rock headlining, and then we finish the story in the main event of night 2 with Cody beating Roman to unify all the titles. From then on you have one champion, working full time across both brands. Alternatively, do something screwy in the main event of night 2 with Damien Priest cashing in to steal the World Heavyweight title but Cody walking out as the UWU, with Reigns getting pinned twice in one night (perhaps with an assist from the Rock).
Roman wrestles less than 10 matches a year. There is ZERO chance he wrestles twice in a single weekend

Should be Cody vs Roman, Drew vs Seth and the rock vs Gunther. Roman vs the rock should be at Wrestlemania 41 and they could still use this year to build it like they did for his match with Cena in 2012 when they started the build in 2011

@@deathmauler181 every match is pointless unless there is build, all they would need to do is build a story for rock vs Gunther, have a backstage run in with imperium on raw, have rock mock their accents (like he always does), Gunther calls him out for being everything that is wrong with wrestling all mouth and no substance which is why he is the ring general. It would build quite easy, Gunther getting a big name match at mania against the rock would be huge for him and getting that win would cement him as one of the greatest IC champs of all time (he already has the longest reign).

@@deathmauler181 personally I don’t want to see any part timers like the rock or Brock Lesnar taking spots on the card from the guys that are younger and wrestle full time but my point is if the WWE were wanting to give Gunther a match with Lesnar and Lesnar is now scrapped, and the WWE wanted another big name for Gunther and the rock wanted to “save wrestlemania” then the more logical thing would have been for him to step into the role Brock left vacant.
The easiest way to fix this is have Rock come out talking about it and can’t decide and then out of nowhere the glass shatters and Stone Cold comes out looks at The Rock and asks the crowd “if you wanna see Cody finish his story give me a hell yeah” and then throws the mic after the crowd cheers and leaves and there’s your answer.

What if they somehow predicted what Adam thought, that Cody would run out his welcome, so they are making it look like the company is screwing him to ensure the fans are on his side?
I know, I know, occam's razor leans more towards Rock the Dwayne Johnsons ego taking the Reigns (HO HA HA)
On a more serious note, I really do feel like at least some element of this is to purposfully take attention away from Vince. And as they pointed out, it's working.

The Rock vs Roman is the best match for Wrestlemania. I agree that the way this match is being set up is bad...but lets face facts. The Bloodline story has never been about Cody. The Endgame has always involved the Rock. Roman said it himself...the reason why he called himself the Head of the Table was to get under the Rock's skin and to make this match. Cody came in 2 years ago and wwe did right by him. They didnt punish him for creating their competition. He debuted at Wrestlemania. He beat one of their top stars in Seth Rollins...repeatedly. Then he goes down to injury. He came back at the Royal Rumble at 30. He wins the damn thing. Then he gives the Finish the Story promo and most fans (not me) are hooked. He gets his match at Wrestlemania and He lost. Story's over as far as im concerned. He fell, just like all of Roman's other opponents. Wwe has the chance to finish the Bloodline story properly now. Cody can get the winner later if you still want to finish his story. The main wwe storyline...the Bloodline storyline is in its Endgame. That doesnt involve Cody. It definitely involves the Rock.
My Pitch for wrestlemania. Cody Vs Seth night 1. Cody is about to win, priest hits him with briefcase, cashes in and wins, Cody is heart broken. Night 2 Roman vs Rock, Roman wins after match is talking sh!t how hes unstopable and no one will ever beat him, Out comes cody to challenge him. Roman laughs in his face, then HHH comes out, makes match. Cody wins

No one said they don't want Rock vs Roman. It just is this is not the time. A story to finish built up for over a year and half and they change it in the final moments. Rock could face anyone, like literally anyone and be cheered so loud in the arena.

Roman's story was in full swing long before Cody even signed with WWE again, I think it's silly to get hung up on a catchphrase like "finish the story" and end a story about family with someone who injected himself into the picture. It should really be Jey ending the Tribal Chief story arc, not Cody. Besides, Seth literally has to drop his title due to injury. Why not have Cody win that one to finish his story and get his moment?

It's three or four cliches repeated before the inevitable goal post moving. Roman takes six minutes to get to the ring, his opponent eats a Samoan Spike, Roman picks up a dirty win, disappears for four months. There is no story. Just a reign being prolonged because Roman is in charge of his own creative.

They could have done it last year or next year, screw it they could’ve even had Rock come out number 30 and win the rumble and they would’ve avoided this! Because appearing at day 1, going away and then coming back 1 week after the rumble and after the choice was obvious of who the winner was gonna choose and then to bulldoze past said winner but more importantly a person who has been busting his ass off, done something that hasn’t been done since 1998 and is here all the time without doing anything to even earn the shot! It doesn’t really give the best look
But no they’ve decided to have Cody win back to back and pick Roman reigns on the same night, had him express that the belt Roman has is the one he wants to win yet not at wrestlemania the grandest stage he could’ve done it at and decided to willingly give up the one opportunity he could get all year to give it to the rock? Storyline wise and character wise for Cody it makes no sense!
Don’t get me wrong I do want to see Rock vs Roman, like I’ve said to people the match itself is not the issue at all, but there was plenty of better ways to get there!
Like rock vs Roman doesn’t even need the title, it wouldn’t even be about the title that’d just be a secondary priority in this feud! Since the main thing is who is truly the head of the family! if anything that title being on the line hurts the match more than anything because it just makes the winner feel obvious unless the reports of the Rock potentially pushing to win the match is true and he does end up winning it making this whole thing even worse!
