    As a loyal caro player, that trap is dirty. Been hit with it a few times before I quit playing into it. I do like how deflated they get when you don't allow them their free queen

    That Caro-Kann trap killed me so many times until I started to recognize the Tennyson Gambit pattern.

    Thanks for this. The Vienna is usually my go to with white, but I just get a little lazy to go through all these lines. Would've also liked to see how you deal with Scandinavian, but, oh well. Not 100% sold on the Smith-Morra. I do prefer the Alapin. But I'll give it a try. Anyway, great stuff 👍

    I have a video idea for you. You can make a tier list of openings. You can even spit it for whites and blacks. And even more for beginners and intermediates if you want.

    Second game was an excellent scenario of when putting a rook on open file would get you a dressing down by the engine. The ”can't go wrong” move is wrong about 10-15% of the time. Just enough to force you to seriously question it (i.e., chew up clock). In this case it was fairly obvious. The more subtle scenarios are so infuriating.

    That is a nasty trap for white in the Caro Kann--on move 5! You only need to remember 5 moves! Reached 73,000 times on lichess!

    against the king's indian I noticed Kd8 after Nd5 is possible. it seems to be a +2 advantage, but playing it as a +2 is extremely hard as black gets tons of development and a pretty safe king on c7. i'm wondering why you didn't show this line.

      You can use the same trap he shows against the caro versus the scandi. They both transpose. It’s called the tennison gambit. Comes out of the Reti opening
