AppleInsider I like this solution. Mainly, because it’s a reputable brand. But the upcoming SliceCharge Pro looks to answer all the pain points I have: smaller footprint, adjustable Watch dock, USB-C and cheaper price. But I’m guessing Hard Cider decided on this in light of AirPower’s death and Nomad taking its place.
It's a little bit expensive at a glance but if you browse more on the other products, you still need to buy a fast power brick (at least 10 watts to enable fast wireless charging) to power those wireless chargers.
I picked up this device as well and really like it and the build quality is good. My only complaint is that when I charge two devices I have to play with how to put the devices on the pad. How were you able to do it so effortlessly?
Here’s the deal. When creating a wireless charger, the manufacturer has control over the placement radius. The issue is, the larger the radius, the larger reduction of charging speed when not centered. So you put your phone down, it starts charging, but because it is so far off center it is charging at maybe 50%. People don’t even realize this. Nomad elected to tighten up this radius. Now, When you place your phone down, you know it will be charging at the max 7.5W. It can be difficult to nail the spot so effortlessly, but once you use it enough it becomes second nature.
Oh absolutely! That is actually a really decent price. Looking at any known brand, they are similar. Belkin has a two-device wireless charger near $100. Zens has a dual charger (amzn.to/2CuEuiN) which runs $80 with no extra outputs. Samsung's model with no outputs for their watch and a phone runs $120 (amzn.to/2IKkl8G). Nimble offers a lovely two-device charger for $50 (amzn.to/2C3ARyZ) but lacks any additional outputs. Fact is, this is cheaper than some, and the ones that it is more expensive, it has more functionality. Let alone the fact it is made of metal and leather rather than plastic. This is a great price for a multi-charger with four simultaneous outputs.
There's no need for that power brick form factor... There are plenty of brick form factors that put out way more power that don't need to take up so much room on a power strip.
One of the products it is trying to be is Apple's AirPower that is still MIA. AirPower charges three devices at the same time, offering an excellent 1 cable solution. For Apple users in this case, if Nomad's power intake is lightning, then all they need is one cable. (Apple watch is an exception though. That is still proprietary.) For people who carry an iPhone and the AirPods or a USB-C phone and a USB-C wireless earphone, 1 single lightning or USB-C is much more convenient. For travelers, a "proprietary" DC input that is heavy, non-detachable and non-replaceable is the last thing to carry. Especially, a light laptop nowadays probably uses USB-C to charge so the charger can be used for this wireless pad, making us carry 1 less bulky power brick.
What's your favorite wireless multi-charger?
Buy from Nomad ➡ bit.ly/2Eg1pjc

What is the name of the charging puck you're using for the watch?
Does this wireless charge Apple Watch series 1?
Stupid me is afraid the 3 coils might be somehow damaging for the iPhone IF placed horizontally.^^
Can it be used in car? Plugging into USB port
Great review!

"nomad baystation"
This shit overheats!
Charging port isn’t lightning or usb c. What a joke.
Joke is your comment. It has both USB A and USB C ports.
It is USB-C PD (Power Delivery) port provides 18W out only. It is not an power intake port.
Why would you need a USB C input for charger?
