I like how everything we talked about recently wasn't in reference to this knife, but we hit on all the points incorporated into this design. The 0.90 thou is the perfect spot imo. Also the thinness in the pocket is a huge selling point. Great design, love it👍

I'm not a knife guy. I found you and outdoor55 while looking for sharpening videos. HOWEVER, I have to say, I love watching your videos. The energy and passion you bring to every video keeps me watching!
DLC doesn't lower the hrc of a blade as a blanket statement, it all depends on the temper temperature. Tool steels like rex45 and maxamet have high temper temperatures and a dlc would not have any effect on the end hrc. Good knife makers can adjust the ht to accommodate coatings and not effect the hrc. Also in a production knife that no ht information is given it could effect the final hrc by more than just 1rc point or not at all, it just depends on what is done. I know WE knives told everyone that coatings drop the hrc by 1 but there is way more to it than that.

This looks great but as a 30 year folding knife collector with about 75 or 80 in my collection, I have a suggestion or two. I'm 76 years old so I need the easiest opening mechanism possible and I've just been mostly buying flippers. I also prefer a blade with no thumb hole and no thumb studs. Just clean. Girls are my favorite, but I'm intrigued by your materials and look forward to seeing these hit the market. Thanks for listening.
Man, I don't typically go for anything over 3.25 but this design is really killer man. That choil looks nice and should help shorten it a bit in hand. That orange peel like texture is dope too. I'm definitely impressed with the design and I've never handled anything from reate that wasn't well executed. Very nice

Then about three minutes in hearing the acoustics of your knives I was like "ooooh, thaaat ting, daaaamn" Interesting design and materials choices, love the one torx size all around, you show them what we all want from knives!
Looks sick dude! Blade shape is fire. For the leftys, you could ask Reate about doing full lefty models. Some folks do that with Reate and seems they will do a pretty small order. But either way, stoked for you man!!
Fantastic design. I really love it, and I’m completely jaded on the 3.5inch-ish folder genre. But this is extremely nice and fresh, and I just really like it. The total package. The blade shape and grind is incredible. I really like the scale texturing too. Very strong work. It’s obvious how these were designed by a true knife enthusiast.
Dude, I can’t wait for this!! Literally everything I would want in a folder, and nothing that I wouldn’t want. Especially the K390! I’m so glad someone besides Spyderco and a few customer makers is going with it. I don’t think I’d ever been more excited about a new release than this! Unfortunately I’ll probably miss the drop like always, but I guess that’s what happens when you work 80-90 hour a week while going to electrical school and have your wedding approaching lol. Thank you for not adding internal milling. I hate knives where a design goal was making a super light knife. 4-5 ounces is my favorite weight for a knife. Hope you can hook up a system we can buy this directly from you to maximize your profit at least on a portion of the sales.

The satin finish seems to have a more pronounced sound than the DLC. I would absolutely purchase one of these, especially if you made a full green / teal color.

The ting is one of the biggest draws for me and one of the main reasons i vigilantly waited for the first Factor drop pre-orders for almost a year without loosing interest or forgetting like i have with dozens or more other knives that you had to jump on a website personally right when pre-orders opened or when the knife was dropping because they were limited amount on the run and would sell out in a min or less. Im sure these will prob sell out in a few mins! im betting on it brother!

Great design! I'll be trying to buy one of these when they become available. I love most of the choices you made! The only thing I'm not a fan of is it being a framework. I've had too many framelock knives done wrong to where if you have pressure in the wrong spot they are very difficult to open. If done right they are great! That's what sucks about buying online, you can't try anything out in advance. That's why I usually try to avoid framelocks

If you use a captured pivot design on the show side: 1. You will only need one T8 to disassemble it. 2. You can engrave your logo on the pivot face without the T8 interfering.
Congrats on the second design And your first folding knife. Looks very comfortable in hand and really like the texture on the titanium. Great do everything blade shape and the hollow on the K390 is going to make it a laser beam. Personally id prefer no coating because I tend to my Blades regularly with oiling and maintenance and prefer the higher HRC. Definatly a Banger right out of the gate with this folder. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

There was a special lionSTEEL Myto in K390, they used the steel several times. But coming from Reate the heat treat will definitely beat lionsteel lol
